I'm a sucker for Shmi stories. She's got so much potential and doesn't get nearly enough play. I can't wait to see where you go with this.

 

Immediately she thought of cool gardens where flowers bloomed and birds sang.

LOL! Somehow I don't think it will be quite that pleasant.


No field work then. Shmi felt relieved.

LOL! It's good to be small and wiry.


"And then later I'll take you to meet the Master," Esmy said casually.

Shmi tried to ignore the painful hammering of her heart.

Something tells me it won't be quite as bad as she's imagining.

Aaaggghhh. I'm glad to see Esmy, at least, is being very kind to Shmi and the other woman.

I am terribly sorry I couldn't read up on this sooner, real life is keeping me busy. In good ways, so I have nothing to complain about. But, on with what we all came here for:

Great writing, but I guess there's no suprise there. It's really developing into something nice. It's kind of heart warming to see Esmy take care of Shmi. Poor Shmi. Thanks for the PM(s)...

 

I love it thus far. They're a bit sad, but very interesting. I liked the Esmy character.

This is so sad. She's been made a slave, but maybe there's hope with this master, unless it's just the servants who are nice.

 

Hi, thankyou for the PM. I was quite relieved to learn that the people at this farm that Shmi has been sent to seemed friendly and a more lightened chapter after what the young girl has been through at the slave market.
Wonderful writing, liked how Esmy took care of Shmi, to tell you the truth you had me fooled in which I thought Esmy was a master of sorts who runs the farm. Guess that leaves us wondering what the acctual Master is like.
