We got Porsche space ships before GTA 6

 

So no Last of Us Part 3 before 2028 right? They're gonna make me buy a PS6 for that. The only Last of Us we get for ps5 is a bunch of remakes/remasters.

 

The only TLOU announcement I saw recently was TLOU 2 Remastered on PC.

 

I'll be among those to say that it was a pretty mediocre show; regarding the new game announcements. I didn't watch the whole thing; only turned it on towards the end but have seen/read all of the announcements and trailers. I could be wrong, but I almost feel like the Intergalactic game could wind up being next year's Forspoken; building up some hype after the teaser trailer and then fades to nothingness within months of its release. And Forspoken is now a freebie in the Games Catalog of PSN.

They would've really raised the roof if Rockstar had a new GTA6 trailer (with gameplay) or if a new Half Life sequel was revealed.

 

Nice inclusion of the Pet Shop Boys. The game is winning.

 

Surprised no one mentioned that the score is being done by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

This is clearly meant to be an IP where they can have as many games as they want to have. This particular game though sounds like it will mainly focus on a single planet.

Eager to see the development they give to the galaxy as I'm sure that will be a big part of the game.

 

It wasn't TLOU or Uncharted tease that most people would've been excited about. I can guarantee that the majority of fans who've played the Naughty Dog games would've preferred a new Uncharted or TLOU game over an completely separate IP. Does this mean that they'll leave those other franchises on hiatus while they support this new game that they're already calling another "franchise"?

 

In this alternate universe they claim humans were able to populate other planets by the year 1986. Wonder where they will claim things shifted to where they developed technology quicker than we did.

 

TBH, I thought the trailer was okay and then when I saw Kumail Nanjiani it was kind of a turn off but then when I saw it was Naughty Dog at the end of the trailer that's when I became excited. I love Uncharted and TLOU.

 

I’m a Naughty Dog fan, loved both TLOU games, liked the Uncharted games.

That said, this trailer doesn’t do it for me. Maybe I’m just not a sucker for 80’s nostalgic aesthetics but nothing here looks interesting imo. I’ll keep an open mind though, hopefully the characters get more interesting and the gameplay is great.

Would have much rather seen an announcement for Last of Us Part 3.

 

Yeah with this game coming out first there is a good chance we don't see Last of Us 3 until close to 2030.

It honestly though wouldn't shock me if there is no third Last of Us game and Drucknann just incorporates all his ideas he has for the third game into the TV show. It would be a way to get it out sooner and to allow his studio to work on something they may be a little more excited about at this point. As they have primarily been working on Last of Us now for about fifteen years now.

 

There will be another Uncharted game but it's probably being made by another PS studio is the rumor.

People also weren't sure why Naughty Dog was making TLOU instead of another Uncharted at the time. Personally I want them to make what they want and what they feel inspired to work on. Not be tied to existing IPs just because it'll sell well.

 

Sometimes it's better for another studio to take on an established series, see God of War and Santa Monica Studio. No reason why someone else can't do the Cassie Drake epic.

 

My perspective is, Uncharted is wrapped up fairly well as a series, at least with the first generation. Nathan and co. got their ride into the sunset, it’s a satisfying run from start to finish.

But Last of Us needs at least one more game to finish Ellie’s story, and I’m a bit worried the franchise could get “Game of Throned” by HBO where it becomes a tv show and the original adapted material never gets finished. Hopefully that’s not the case but at this point it seems likely the tv show is on schedule to pass the games’ storyline, they’re able to produce it faster.

On the other hand it is good they’re trying something new IP-wise, it allows them space to experiment. I still expect them to finish TLOU eventually if for no other reason than it’s a reliable “blockbuster”, I’m just impatient.

 

I'm just annoyed I'll probably have to buy a ps6 for a Last of Us Part 3, I already had to generation jump to get Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. (Although there I'm fairly certain Remake Part 3 will be ps5). Naughty Dog could be working on 2 games though. Almost had a Last of Us multi-player until it got turfed
