Well I used it for all the files on one cd, and it worked fine with the Dev. files.

Now I put in my other CD from germany, with the gns. files, and it dosn´t work.

What program do I need for these files.
I suck at technoligy, so help would be great.

Hmmmm, I typically only use WinRAR for RAR files. Is the file extension for these mystery files ".gns" or is it something else?

A file extension is the three alphanumeric code at the end of the file to indicate what type of file it is.

Examples could be .TXT == text file, .PDF == Adobe Acrobat file (PostScript Document Format), .GIF (GIF file), etc.

So, are all the files names .001 -> .nnn (where n is anumber) or is there a file that has another ending (like .zip, .tar, .gz)?

I've been using WinRAR for over 6 months now since I use to use WinZip. WinRAR is far superior that WinZip in many ways. I love WinRAR.

For file types where there is just .001, .002, etc. it's typically indicitive of a TAR file (though the first file in the archive is <filename>.tar, then <filename>.001, <filename>.002, etc.)

So I dunno what to tell you... :(

    By the way, what's .scr?

Typically a screensaver, I believe... though there are some applications that use files with that extension as well...
