Is Keira Knightly the sexiest, tomboy beanpole on the planet?

I don't know about the books since I havn't read them, but Arwen doesn't play a huge role in the movies. She only has a few scenes in FOTR, and only 1 in TTT

So it's not like she's a leading character

 

I do agree that boobs aren't everything but they shouldnt restrain them to the point wear you cant even see em. I guess thats why I dont like that pic.

Bad Keira!

 

It's a fantasy story set up on a medieval time. The fantasy part means you can do whatever you want in your story. If you can have stuff like talking trees and movine portraits you can definitly make imoprtant female characters.

Galadrial and Eowyen aren't important? ?

And their were neither talking trees or moving portraits in LotR. And Tolkien set out to make a medieval/mythical tale like those found in Greece, or Norway. Just based in Europe and England. So, still, that doesn't warrent needlessly creating a strong female character for no reason.

If you want a strong female character int Tolkiens stuff, read about Luthien Tinuival in The Silmarllian. Seriously, she and her boyfriend alone took on the Dark Lord and won.

I doubt it was motivated by that as much as it was motivated by a desire to make the story more personal. I never bought Aragorn's love for Arwen in the books, because he so clearly overmatched her in fire and spirit. She was cold and aloof, he was down in the nitty gritty trying to save mankind. I agree with PJ's decision to turn Arwen into part of the main story in this one.

Yeah, but that messes with the real story as fishi says. LotR is about good vs. evil. It is not Titanic. And his rewrites are horrible. There's a reason Tolkien wrote the original and all PJ can do is adapt it. Talent.
