Anybody else scared crapless as a kid when the preview trailer for the Larry Cohen production IT'S ALIVE played? Come on all you thirty somethings out there you just gotta remember this one.

The Preview trailer involves a creepy stark white bassinette (baby buggy). This bassinette (baby buggy) is turning in a counterclockwise manner as a strobe light effect pulses in time with a heartbeat. A narrator talks about the Davis couple having a kid and it not being quite right and all. Then over the side of the bassinette (baby buggy) a small hand reaches out and each finger has a claw/talon attached to it.

Geez I still find it slightly unnerving. Yeah between the mutated killer children of IT'S ALIVE and Mr. Barlow from the 1979 version of Salem's Lot I rarely slept as a young kid.

Word has it Larry Cohen has acquired the rights from Warner Brothers to do a re-make of IT'S ALIVE! Can you thirty somethings just imagine those mutated killer children rendered via CGI. A baby's cry will NEVER be the same...all over again. Heh-heh-heh...

    One other quick question...

Anybody know if IT'S ALIVE will be released on DVD? I'd love to see the extras!

No, I have heard no word about this film being released on DVD, director Larry Cohen has made some very interesting contributions to the horror genre, such as God Told Me To, Q the Winged Serpent, and the all out cheese horror The Stuff.

I own GTMT and QTWS, both great additions to my ever growing collection. I would love to see Synapse or Blue Underground distribute It's Alive full of extras. Outrageous as it is, it's probably his best film.

Wondering, do any of you thirty somethings remember The Baby (1972), about a mentally disabled man kept by overly protective his sisters and mother like a baby. He even sleeps in a crib and there is some suggestive incestous material between him and a sister. Until a social worker decides to change all that. You can't forget the ending -- think swimming pool. Production value is b with a capital b, but one of the most equally disturbing and quirky horror films I have ever, ever seen. It'd make a good double feature with It's Alive for sure.

I remember this one. Scared the living crap out of me. Wasn't it due to the chemicals used in Vietnam?

No, I believe it was industrial pollutants.

I remember the trailer very well. It scared the hell out of me as a child.

That and the trailer for Suspira are two of the scariest ever. Ahhhhhh, memories. :)

Well, you have uncanny timing, because your wishes will be answered this Halloween, check my Warner Bros thread here. It has been officially announced.

And has also been very recently confirmed on several horror oriented sites such as this one here.
