    It's official (6ABY)
    Author: Earlybird-obi-wan
    Timeframe: 6 ABY
Characters: Tim Kirwin and Delfine Quirine
    Genre: OTP challenge

Disclaimer: Star Wars belongs to Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm belongs to Disney.

    It's official

Tim Kirwin was standing next to his beloved Delfine before the double doors that led to the room in the Monir city hall where he and Delfine would take their vows. He was hopping on his feet and saw her doing the same and smiled.

She was beautiful in her white dress adorned with flowers and had a bouquet of roses, hybiscus and lilac in her hands.

The flowers he had mentioned when he saw her for the first time. And he had a rose and a peach blossom in the pocket of his black suit.

“First this official ceremony but you know what will follow.”

“The ceremony of the Dunai elder at the beach.” Delfine said. “And I have rehearsed my words with my father and mother.”

“Karan, Aina and Lomion have instructed me. And the director of the university will lead the ceremony.”

The doors were opened by the guardian.

Tim and Delfine entered seeing the smiles on the faces of their friends and her family and walked to the table where the official was sitting with Delfine's parents and Karan Xothi and Lomion Er-Marin.

They sat down on the two chairs before the table.

“Friends, relatives, family, parents, we are here to witness the official vows spoken by this man and woman and see them signing the documents with their witnesses.” The official stood up. “Rise.”

Tim and Delfine did and waited.

    “Tim Ere-Shai...”

“Hmm.” Tim had a startled look on his face. All his life he had heard Tim Kirwin or more recently Tim Xothi when his name was mentioned.

“Tim Ere-Shai do take the hand of Delfine Quirine and what is your answer?”

    “Uh yes.”

    “Delfine...”

“Yes.” Delfine kissed Tim on his mouth.

“Uh.” The official shook his head but regained his composition. “Tim Ere-Shai and Delfine Quirine are married and can sign the documents laying here before me. Sit down.”

Tim and Delfine did as instructed and saw Delfine's parents and Karan Xothi and Lomion Er-Marin signing the documents.

“Congratulations Tim Ere-Shai and Delfine Quirine.” The official shook their hands. “Now you can go and have a nice party.”

Tim and Delfine left with their friends and family.

Coming outside of the Monir city-hall Tim turned to Karan and Aina.

“I saw your looks but deemed it important that your real surname is used in the official documents. Tim, you are our adopted son but you can take your real name if you like.”

“Ah whatever, Kirwin and Xothi have been my names.” Tim laughed. “Ere-Shai can be next but if and when I will meet my friends from the Jedi I will be Tim Kirwin.”

“And that's your name for me.” Delfine gave him a kiss.

Ooh, nice, I see you got some of the Language of Flowers prompts in here too! Lovely idea to combine that with the "tying the knot" challenge, and you use them all to set a beautiful scene here in the Monir city hall. I noticed Tim's surprised reaction to being called "Tim Ere-Shai" during the ceremony, but love that ultimately Tim acknowledges and embraces both—well, all—of the surnames he's had, official and unofficial. (So that too ties into the title "It's Official"!) Lovely to see these two joined in marriage in such a beautiful setting; very nice work, and thanks so much as always for being part of the OTP challenge! =D=
