Okay. I had this crazy idea in my mind. I know Miralukas can be Jedi because they use Force Sight. And I know the Jedi Master Zao was blind, but he was a formidable opponent with a lightsaber cane. I wonder... is it possible to have a blind Jedi fight beside the other fellow Jedi members?

When Obi-Wan suggests to Luke to put on the training helmet with the blast shield lowered - he was, in effect, a blind Jedi but was still able to 'see' using the Force. I see no problem with a blind Jedi who uses the Force to perceive his surroundings at all times. Is this what you mean?

Tahl was blinded in the Jedi Apprentice series. While she appeared to make up for most of her old skills with the Force, she still seemed to view it as a handicap, however. The other Jedi didn't seem to want her to go out on action-intense missions too often.

In the case of Tahl I think thats only because she was recently blinded so not ample time to develop the required other senses to a level where it would be wise to go into an action filled arena.

that said, I think the only Jedi who really had a problem with her going anywhere dangerous was Qui-Gon, and that was because he was in love with her and overprotective, something she happened to resent.

That's deep. I mean, seeing that Qui-Gon was overprotective of her, Tahl knew that she could take care of herself. Even when she was blind. The Force guided her.

And yeah, King_of_Red_Lions. That's most of what I meant. I remembered Obi-Wan saying, "Your eyes can decieve you. Don't trust them," when he placed that helmet on Luke. I believe that if you're a Blind Jedi, then you know you got the Force to guide you.

Isn't Kreia effectively a Blind 'jedi'? If a non-Miraluka can give up their sight for Force Sight then you can probably get Force Sight after being blinded against your will.

I don't understand the question. You point out that there are blind Jedi, then ask if they exist.
You can. Bane got it when he was temporarily blinded. Untrained too.

I still prefer to think of Jerec as a regular guy whoi lost his vision for some reason, instead of as a Miraluka. Makes him a whole lot cooler, and a whole lot more scary. :)

That's what I meant, Kaje. I was thinking more about blind Humans. Say like... if there were Blind Jedi that were Human back then that exist... it's possible that there could be ones in Legacy. Right?

Well, unless they've suddenly come up with a way to cure blindness, I don't see why not.

The first issue of the Clone Wars Adventure book, the very first story had a story about something they couldn't see until Anakin heard some voices and some weird base popped out.

I think the question might actually be... is it possible to have blind Jedi fight against other Jedi mistakenly. To which I'd have to say, probably not.

I loved that little detail of Q'anilia being the one to drive the aircar waiting outside the Draay estate in KOTOR # 9!

I did too! I thought it was pretty cool to see a Miraluka drive. To me, Q'anilia's pretty cool. Although she had to follow orders to kill the Padawans, deep inside she felt bad.

But that would be freakin' sweet to see other Blind Jedi drive a vehicle! :D

I'm sure you could but if I was a Jedi I sure wouldn't want to be the one to stand next to him while in battle....

Tahl and many others have already been mentioned, but here's probably a good example:

During the last book of the Jedi Apprentice series (uhm... The Final Showdown, I think it was? Or something else dramatic.) Obi-Wan is temporarily blinded during a battle, and he functions just fine until he regains his eyesight a few minutes later.

Tholme is also blind in one eye if I remember right, though that doesn't really count. :p

The previously mentioned Zao drove a skycycle blind.
