Jannah has been on that moon for years, probably most of her life. Her clothes are made from animal skins and fish scale and her weapons from whatever she has salvaged from the DS wreckage. Her group has no contact with the rest of the GFFA by the looks of it.
I thought she was good in The End of the ****ing World even though her character arc was just okay to me. Look forward to what she brings to the table,
Jannah and Finn are not related nor is she Lando's daughter but her last appearance in the movei is with him. For most of the movie, she's paired up with Finn. We learn she was a FO former stormtrooper and she left for the same reason as Finn (not wanting to kill). Actually, the whole garrison left the FO at that moment.
A second, just a mention that Lando was her father and you're creating a really potentially exciting side-quell to the ST.
I really thought there was going to be another last minute parentage reveal there. Unless they originally planed it but then reshoot it.
I'm glad the whole Lando subplot was dropped. Jannah didn't get a lot to do but I did like her. Hope we get to see more of her in the future.
Finn could have done it by himself. It should have been Rose. Plus her whole stormtrooper subplot was useless
It pretty much there to show to Finn he’s not alone. That others did the same as him. Instead of a stormtrooper rebellion, Finn met up with one
But he didn't. And they used her space horses to get across the hull of the Star Destroyer when speeders would have been stopped by the First Order. And I don't think her backstory was meaningless. It gave Finn someone he could relate to and show that he wasn't the only one to resist the First Order. She gives him some hope when things are starting to look dire.
Yea but he already has friends so he isn’t alone edit: @Darth Chiznuk I think I am just blinded by my disappointment that Rose was shafted so much.
Are you kidding me JJ? Apparently early drafts had this character related to Lando. Why does everyone have to be related
Not just in early drafts, their relation is fully canonized. It's in the Visual Dictionary and it's confirmed to be part of the novelization. I'm sure these scenes will be on the Blu-Ray as deleted scenes and if I'm correct, pretty much all deleted scenes are considered canon.
I got a strong implication from the Visual Dictionary that Jannah was Lando's kidnapped daughter, but I don't remember it being stated outright.
You're right, it's heavily implied but not outright stated but the leaks told us this was the case and the novelization has promised to include this subplot. The ending scene with Lando and Jannah was meant to hint at this but the implication failed when the subplot of Lando's stolen daughter was removed from the final film so most audiences think he's flirting with her. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Disney+ show continuing their adventures since, unlike John Boyega, Naomi Ackie and Billy Dee Williams have dignity enough to not trash talk their employers.
