If you’ve read Last Shot having her being Lando’s daughter would really put that book into question unless Jannah is some unknown Love Child
Perhaps when he's done with trash talking his employers and TLJ and develops enough maturity and responsibility to not leave a script around. Very disrespectful behavior on his part.
I don't recall him trash talking anyone. What I do recall is him voicing his opinion on a a few matters, which is not a rarity for actors. As for the script, people make mistakes. Don't see why you should constantly crucify him over it, but whatever. You do you.
His comments about not wanting to be Disney Plussed were very inappropriate and he got a lot of flack online for them. It was super offensive especially to other actors who are doing Star Wars Disney+ shows, actors who arguably are of a higher caliber than he is. After the mistake with the script, he'll be lucky to be Disney Plussed. There's a way to express feelings or thoughts on a prior work but him trash talking the previous SW film right before the release of the new one was absolutely uncalled for and did not generate goodwill with anyone except for TLJ haters. He rightfully got dragged on social media for that too, plus his tone-deaf comments about social media and the implications of that on Kelly Marie Tran came right after which wasn't a good look for him at all. He may have apologized afterwards but the entire promotional tour showed me a side of him I didn't like at all. He's a very shallow actor if the only reason he preferred the script for TROS is because of the hints that he was force sensitive when he actually had a full arc in TLJ where he finally came around to believing in the Resistance. Anyway, this is the Jannah thread so there's no point in discussing this further here. Especially when female characters like Jannah and Rose seemed to only exist to cater to Finn's storyline and prop him up at the expense of their own individual arcs. To bring it back to topic, I stand by my hope that Jannah and Rose get their own Disney+ show because Naomi and Kelly had some amazing chemistry behind the screens and they deserve an outlet for how little the final film did to showcase them.
This is definitely the issue. She comes in towards the second half of the film and while she's there, she doesn't leave much of an impression overall. I think she just has one scene where she fires an arrow and that's something I was really hyped about. I think her overall issue would have been alleviated had the subplot of the First Order kidnapping children not been deleted.
The irony of you saying this lol. But you're right, there is no point in discussing this further because I can see where this is going to go. On topic, it's too bad they spent too much time on the Rey/Kylo arc. Was hoping they would give more time to Jannah and Finn and their conflict with the Sith troopers. Also it would have been cool if they had faced off against a KoR or something but I guess should have known better with this trilogy.
That was a problem with most of the new characters. It's why trying to introduce multiple new characters in the final film and trying to make us care, doesn't often work. The cast was already too bloated with returning ones as it is.
I was surprised at how much I liked all the new characters, even with such a small amount of screen time. And even with as much going on as the film has. I honestly think Jannah, Zorri, Babu Frik, D-O, Gen Pryde were all good additions to the film
I thought they did a good job with Zorii, Babu Frik, and General Pryde even with limited amounts of screentime. In Jannah's case, you can tell they deleted a lot of stuff that would have made her story resonate more. D-O I liked but he didn't leave quite the same impact as the other Disney droids have (BB-8, K2, L3, or even BD-1 from Jedi: Fallen Order).
I think you are correct, they did leave out quite a bit. I’m inclined to think maybe they thought it better to save it for her own show, maybe, hopefully? haven’t played the game yet, but yes the little backpack droid is super cool.
All the content from the leaks about the First Order stealing children of Rebellion heroes was cut. There's a few lines in the final film at most about children being kidnapped from different worlds but it's not a subplot of its own like in the leaks. Also the TROS expanded novelization has confirmed to include more on this so it'll be from the deleted scenes like TLJ expanded novel. Billy Dee Williams has basically flat out confirmed that this was not the end of Lando and we can expect to see him again so I imagine he'll be paired up with Jannah in a Disney+ show.
So, it’s confirmed she’s Lando’s daughter? https://www.google.co.jp/amp/s/www....-dictionary-explains-jannah-landos-connection
No - but strongly hinted - and I'm told the lines cut, will be in the novelization. That said, even strong hints, aren't proof:
In anybody's opinion, were all the former stormtroopers who left the First Order Force sensitive? Or, was their leaving the will of the Force?
Maybe the novel will flesh her out but she's basically Finn's exposition buddy. I kind of wish she had said that their refusal to fire for the FO was because they were inspired by Finn.
The second outfit is much, much cooler than what was ultimately chosen. A pattern with JJ, I've found.
