I voted for Jackson and his computer bad, which makes sense when you hear my playlist.

I'm going to be at work all day tomorrow so I'm posting my list now and I'll do the write-ups tomorrow night. There's no real theme here, these are all songs I will listen to when they show up on my spotify, which I guess is a theme kind off. Anyway, here's Mad Mixtape: JCC Road

    Hope you enjoy :)

Alright I'm home from work so it's explanation time. I know a lot of people have deep reasons for why songs are on their list but, uh, I kinda don't. I just like the song sometimes haha. A reminder that most of these were discovered while me and the gf were driving across country needing music to listen to.

Cthulhu by Gunship: I've always been a fan of lovecraftian horror and it was really cool to run into this song. Gunship has been featured on my playlists before (like Dark All Day). I like how this song slowly builds up to a great synth track.

Obsolete by DEADLIFE, Scandroid: Both DEADLIFE and Scandroid have been on my playlists before, and it was about bloody time they did a song together. You can tell Klayton's (Scandroid) influence in this song because it doesn't know how to end (i kid, i kid). But really, it's the best of both of them and I'm looking forward to more collaborations.

Creator by ROBORG: SHODAN is featured at the beginning of this song. System Shock was the original scary AI cyberpunk game, and I think this song does the game justice. It's another really good Dark Synth song.

Fire in Your Eyes by d.notive: This was apparently part of the soundtrack of some movie I've never seen. It doesn't matter, I'm pumped as hell. I love how fast paced this song is.

Deadlight by Nfract: This song has no lyrics. It's discordant as hell. And I've gotten lost in it before. Because it's oddly....peaceful? I don't know how they did it. But each part making up this song is chaotic and stressful, but somehow put together, it's peaceful. It puts me at ease. Easily in my top 10 songs to drive to.

Like Every Insect by System Syn: I like angry songs sometimes. And this is a very angry song. IDK who hurt the writer but he mad. This is one of the songs from my goth industrial days that I still listen to. And I will listen to this when I'm feeling a bit aggressive.

Curse by God Module: IDC what anyone says, this song is about a werewolf. It just has to be. This is another song from the days of me listening to industrial music that has still stuck, mostly because I really like both the music and the singing. I know that industrial music singing can be.....harsh to most people, but I think this one is actually pretty easy on the ears.

Make Me A Cyborg by Ultra Sheriff: This is just a really fun song. I think it does a good job of showing just how much goes into the loss of your humanity while having fun rhyming all the part. Coming up with these lyrics could not have been easy.

Winter by Beati Mortui: This is kind of a weird song. I don't know when I first heard it, it's probably from my industrial days. But it's an good song about going to sleep (ironically in a genre that's the least peaceful).

Streets by Moonrunner83, Megan Mcduffee: If there was an ever a song that deserved a second chance from a prior playlist, it's Streets. It's been two and a half years since this song was featured on my first playlist and came second place. But this was clearly many people's favorite song on the list. Also I made a really dumb but cute youtube of it.

I think “Cthulhu” had my vote on lock until “Streets” busted out that sax solo. I’m only human.

This went by really fast. Why just ten songs, Vivec?

I didn't really have any other songs I wanted to put up that weren't repeats from prior lists, and I already had one.

I had 15 on my list, no problem, I just have to pick which 3 to cut, right? An hour later I had 18.

For mine, I’m just adding an extended cut as an out-of-competition extra.

    Currently up to 45 songs.

My list is exclusively composed of artists that were only in discarded drafts of my first list for… reasons.

Then here's me having only included songs from the last 12 months and still having a hard time trimming it down to 12. The pains of being a new music fan :p

Man I thought Streets would be an easy winner but I absolutely loved Make Me a Cyborg. I'll have to think on this one...

I feel like I did this playlist a disservice by listening to it on a drive during the day. :p I was locked in on Obsolete for most of it, but Make Me a Cyborg and Streets gave me pause. Still wound up voting for my first choice.

You gotta drive at night in the rain, preferably in a city with a skyline and then listen

I’m telling you, it’s the sax. It cannot be denied.

Edit: Looking at the discussion from the original mixtape thread this was my exact justification back then, lol. I’m consistent at least.

I will confess I was sorely tempted to make a playlist of saddest songs but I figured the vast majority of listeners wouldn't make it past the first or second before quitting
