It should take 4-5 lightsaber hits to kill you on that difficulty.

But here's my tip for Jedi Academy: Upgrade your Force Heal ASAP. Choose easy missions at first, and once it's at Level 3, you can easily heal yourself during a duel.

    That's what I've been doing.

The only powers that aren't fully upgraded are Rage, Drain, and Force Grip.

I have a few questions. First, how do you get into a saber lock? Second, how do you get out of a saber lock? Whenver I get into one, I always get slashed by the computer opponent. Third, what is better: double-bladed or two lightsabers? Just a few questions, probably easy. Lets see some answers. [face_batting]

I don't know how to get into a saber lock; they just happen.

To get out of one, hit the Fire and Alternate Fire buttons rapidly. Or try to use Push.

I prefer dual lightsabers, mostly because each can be a different color.

I think lightsaber locks happen when you and your opponent attack simultaneously. Like Bib said, rapidly hit the attack and alt attack buttons to break the lock and get a hit in. Level 3 Force Push can also break it. Handy when you're fighting near a ledge.

All the various lightsaber styles have their benefits. Single saber is good as you get access to all three versions of attack: fast, medium and strong. Twin sabers makes you a whirling cyclone of cutting power, but with less attack move options (another benefit is throwing a saber while defending with the other - good for multiple opponents). Double-bladed saber opens the various kick moves, but again, attack moves are limited to a degree.

I find it the most challenging by only going with single saber through the whole game and having to vary your style according to what your opponent's wielding.

I actually prefer the double-bladed lightsaber when playing multiplayer, and it seems most others do too. I also like the single lightsaber, as Snuggle said it's great because you can have the different forms. Though, I must admit, I'm less than good at this game; especially online. Those people rip me up. Oh well, I suppose.

Anyone have a favorite color? Or any interesting color combos they use when handling double lightsabers?

With two sabers, my favorite color combinations are red & blue and purple & orange.

I think doulbe-bladed lightsaber issomehow best for the Multiplayer game. However, I did the best using two blades in campain game.

All right I have a question. I am in the Cultist facility looking for Rosh and Kyle. I come to a room where there is a vat with lava in it, the kind Padme was stuck in in Episode II. There is a switch to pull, but it keeps going back up and nothing happens. Why is that? Have I forgotten to do something earlier in the level?

Hey, I can never find Dasariah and Vil Kothos in the game -- they're listed as characters. What the heck am I missing here?

Saber throw or lightening 3 always does the trick for me. AT-ST's are scrap.

Quite right, single saber is the traditional route and that is good. However, I rarely have to change my style to cope with others, I have masterd the game time and again and look for unique ways to disadvantage my self and concentration through the game. And since I've not seen any evidence to my question, I was wondering if anyone else here beat the game just using the force besides me?

Exactly. they're listed in the voice credits, and I've heard others mention them, but I've never encountered them in any way in the game itself. What the heck is up with that?

They're probably used for spawning in Multiplayer. If you don't know, spawning is where you summon another character through the use of a cheat code, but seeing as cheat codes aren't allowed here, I won't get into it.
And I have a question, too. On disk one it says that a manual is included on it, but I can't find it. How do I get it opened? Oh, and are there patches out for the game? If so, where can I find them, as well as mods?

Hmm. I've just tried the multiplayer, but I still can't see them as characters.

You mean for the character selections? No, this is a console command, and they also work in single player. I could PM you the code, if you want. I haven't actually tried it yet, but I'm going to. My previous questions still stand.

Jedi Knight, was good but disappointing. I would think that there would be more to it. Granted it took me awhile but to me it left me hanging. :_|

I don't play many Star Wars computer games, but Jedi Academy (Jedi Knight series in general) are truly brilliant games.
