I've always wondered this- How long does a Jedi live for? The onlyl Jedi we've seen die of natural causes is Yoda and he was what, 900? Does it depend on the species or can even human Jedi live for centuries just like Palpatine stays alive using the dark side of the force. Any thoughts?

I think Palpatine was in his 80's but looks like 150's.

I think the age depends on the species of that being and if they are on the light side or the dark side.

Wasn't there a thread on this months ago?

I believe that Palpy was 88 when he took the plunge, but it might have been 92 and I was just doing the math wrong. I don't think that his body would be lasting for many more years, though.

For years I thought that Yoda was just a 900-year-old human who had become so shriveled and deformed over the years that he came to look like a gremlin.

Anyway, I don't think that a Jedi would be able to extend their lifespans much farther than any other being in the SW universe (and they could probably lead much longer lives due to the supposed advances in medical science which should have taken place in the Star Wars galaxy.

I think it's depending on the species.

Jedi in general live longer than the average of their species. I read that ... somewhere ...

Unless they get involved in a war of course, like on Geonosis.

Well, if you look at the job description, it doesn't exactly promise a healthy lifespan.

I guess it just depends on what kind of luck you have.

"There is no such thing as luck."

    Oops. :p

I imagine that they have a slightly longer life span.

I think that Jedi live longer healthyier lives than their species normally does. (Other than their hazards) But it is related to their species too. Qui Gon wasn't goin to live to be 900, but he was pretty perky for being 60. Dooku was like 85 i think. I don't know how old palpatine was in ROTJ i someohow got the impression he was 300, i don't know where i heard that, but i doubt it is true anymore...

Jedi generally live a bit longer than the normal lifespan of their species. It's because of their connection to the Force. They can meditate, go into healing trances, go into thousand year trances, etc. As said above, Qui-Gon was pretty sparky for a 60 year old, same with Dooku at over 80. The Force helps a lot with mobility in middle and late age.

Oh, and don't forget out liitle green master's aerial acrobatics show in Ep. II ;) :D.

A human Jedi that is strong in the force is said to live 10-20 years older than a non-jedi.
