Though if we're saying it ended in 1 BBY, shouldn't guys like Kenobi and Brand be listed as surviving it? It seems like by that standard, the Purged didn't end until the final death of Palpatine.

Yeah, but we also know that a few thousand were alive in ROTS and that all but a couple hundred were taken out in Order 66. Just because they didn't appear "onscreen" doesn't mean the clones didn't get them.

Well, the Council members were the most skilled Jedi in the Order, so is it surprising more than two survived? And Even Piell didn't last very long, being killed only a few months after Order 66.

And there is still one Council member whos fate is unknown: Coleman Kcaj. This loose end has always bothered me...

Ah, looking back I see my question was already answered. The first version of this list counted survivors as those who outlasted Palpatine, I assume through his final death in EE.

Well, as I said, we eventually broke it up into other categories/labels to cover those who survived through ROTJ and afterwards as well.

Actually, it kind of is. THey were going up against Sidios, Vader and all the clones who caught them off guard. If it was just the 4 council members, okay, but when you put them with all the other countless survivors on this list it kind of just fails to live up to the whole plan to eliminate the Jedi. Does anyone know roughly how many Jedi were actually out there at the time of Order 66?

As far as Coleman Kcaj... I hope they just reveal that he died during Order 66 than use the fact that we don't have a source on his death to add another Jedi to the survivors list. If we are lucky maybe the clone Wars tv show will show us a few more Jedi (including Coleman Kcaj) getting killed off at the time of Order 66.

Also, who wants to bet Ahsoka will be added to the list of survivors. ;)

from 2 survivors to 128+ survivors..the Purge keeps looking more like the "The Great Escape"..then again to go from 10,000+ Jedi to only a few hundred is still considered quite effective and more realistic..

The plan wasn't really to eliminate every single one of them, though. It was to reduce their numbers and power base to a level that wouldn't pose a significant threat to Palpatine and his Empire. To go from several thousand to somewhere around 200 is pretty effective and managed to scatter the Jedi to the effect that most were not a threat for a couple of decades. And in the end, it wasn't any of them who had a direct impact on the Empire, but a new individual trained by a pair of them.

I don't know. If Sidious wanted to wipe out all the Gungans in TPM I'm pretty sure he wanted to wipe out all the Jedi in ROTS. In fact, doesn't he say as much in ROTS when he tells Vader to "do what must be done"? That whole speech?

There are conflicting sources as to what Sidious wanted. In The Rise of Darth Vader, he is fairly unconcerned about Jedi survivors, but in the Thrawn Trilogy (I think, but it may have been in another book), Mara tells Luke that the Emperor was so focused on taking out the remaining Jedi that he underestimated the threat of the Rebellion.

Well the few survivors after 1 BBY that did die aren't victims. The official canon ending of the Purge is 1 BBY. I mean it would make sense since this is around the time the Rebellion takes up much of the Empires time. As I have stated before the few survivors remaining were scattered and not really a threat to the Empire. With the Empire's attention focused on fighting the Rebels it would be difficult to track down the remaining survivors.
