Is it me or does she not look sad at all?

Wasn't she only seen for a couple of seconds?

Interesting point, but she wasn't really featured long enough for it to matter much. Maybe she was just attempting to stay composed at such a time.

she always looked smug to me in that scene, with a thinly veiled smile

kind of like a wicked stepmother in a Grimm fairytale bemused she's the seen the dead body of the princess

either that or she's happy she's not cut from the movie

Could be shock, could be her putting on a straight face and strong persona for the family. I've seen it before IRL.

    true,

but we are dealing with a 2 second shot where nobody seemed that bothered,

remember Star Wrs is a fictional fairy tale in space, not a documentary on real life psychology (cue endless "Anakin is a psychotic says university of so and so" threads

    over dramatic grief IS allowed

Actually, a great deal of real life psychology plays a part in the saga's characters. But the dimwitted psychologists are too busy labeling Anakin as a special case or a psychotic, instead of considering the possibility that Anakin represents the possibility that anyone could descend into darkness, based on their own emotions and choices. So much for a six-to-eight year education.

I agree with the last part,

I don't believe though that real life pschology plays a part in the saga's characters.

I'll give 2 reasons for this

    1) The Saga plays on mythological and fantastical themes, in mythology psychology wasn't really the focus.

    2) it seems the saga focuses on a "will of the force" if this is the case, then psychology is obsolete,

people are the way they are because it's part of a grand plan of the force
