So long as it actually concludes and pays off 2-3 I'll be happy.

I didn't like either the assassin world bollocks of the sequels or how they keep ending incomplete, but a good conclusion could solve both of those.

Personally, I prefer a well-packed movie that runs a bit longer to two movies that need filler.

I need to see that. Meanwhile, I recently caught up on JW 1-3 and am on board for more from this world.

Yeah, that was a really good one. Almost non-stop action for the entire thing. Maybe not much in terms of character development for John outside of 2 scenes, but, then, we've spent 3 movies with him so we know his deal at this point. Best to let him go into Baba Yaga mode and spend the runtime developing the new and returning support cast.

This is also an unbelievably gorgeous-looking film. So glad I caught it in IMAX. The locations, set design and lighting work is just jaw-dropping at times. Though, being a former framer, seeing the frames on those massive art pieces in that gallery (which I have to assume is a real place) was traumatic [face_laugh]. The added EDM-influence and cultural stlyings added to the music also really helped keep things moving as well.

So yes it's awesome. But I felt like it was disconnected.

The One Who Sits Above The Table...is killed off at the start, and it's not even the same character, and so the rest of the High Table just goes on? And we see nothing of them but the one French dude as the new primary baddy.

"Man I sure am pissed, John, " doesn't do much. Winston is kind of just there. They have good lines and such though. I like what the other two assassins do throughout as the both help and hinder John but, I mean, why introduce them when it could have just been Caspian? Although, had they done that we would not have gotten the funniest moment when dude's dog takes a leak.

The audience cheered when Frenchy is informed of his mistake of directly joining the duel as John had not shot yet and then met his end.

So, Wick dead? If this is the last one then I guess so though I like to think he faked his death to truly escape.

    But yeah, it's awesome.

Stahelski has basically said that he and Keanu want to stop for the moment, but might come back to do another one if they come up with a pitch they both like. So for now, I'd say that he's probably dead (note that the Bowery King still had the dog he rescued at the end of the first one).

Outside of Avatar 2 this is the best bang for your Buck you can get in a movie theater. Sequences had my mouth agape, shocked at the amazing things happening on screen.
The sequence that essentially becomes Hotline Miami is the standout

The fight sequence that got me the most was..

He came up stairs and the scenes switches to an overhead shot that looks like one ongoing shot as he goes room to room.

One element that makes Chapter 4 better than the previous films is the strength of its side characters.

Rina Sawayama was outstanding in her film debut, Mr. Nobody was probably my favorite character in the movie, Donnie Yen’s R-rated Chirrut Imwe stole every scene he was in, hell even the gold-toothed big guy who I only realized was Scott Adkins when the credits rolled was a highlight (anybody else get Penguin/Iceberg Lounge vibes from that sequence?).

You could spin this movie off in a multitude of directions, and if the already announced spin-offs plus that post-credits stinger are any indication, they seem to be going for it.

But I do have one question:
How the **** did Caine know he was holding four nines?

It seemed to me that the Adjudicator was the only main villain who didn't necessarily try to double cross Wick one way or another.

Don't get me wrong; they brutally enforced the High Table's rules, but compared to the other villains, not necessarily a double cross.

The Russian mobster in John Wick 1: was willing to pay extra for someone to "do business" on Continental grounds.
Santino in John Wick 2: forced Wick to kill his sister, then tried to kill him and put the initial bounty on him.
The Marquis in John Wick 4: agreed to the duel, then tried to cause Wick to either not make it or show up late.
