Comics Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: Allegiance

Hux commands what appears to be a Dreadnought in the opening sequence over Tah'Nuhna, but later he is on the Finalizer. Maybe just an artistic decision to showcase the flagship?

 

The script extracts at the end confirm it's a Dreadnought, but I think the Finalizer's the ship that's in front of the Dreadnought in that panel, so Hux would be on that.

What I really liked about this issue was that it effectively established that Rey is in fact, NOT a Mary Sue, that she does actually struggle with the Force at times, especially when she is grieving over Luke and still unsure about her place in all this chaos. This is part of what I want to see from the expanded universe, more character development for characters when the films aren't able to do so.

Wasn't Ackbar retired on Mon Cala for some time before he joined the Resistance? Doesn't the VD say so?

I was a bit surprised by that "My father had maybe seen me once since my spawning. His focus was elsewhere." line too, if that's what you were getting at.

I would imagine the FO is actually planning it right now and we'll see an attempt this issue.

I really liked this first part of the arc, seeing Rey struggle and Poe with Finn in a bar. plus the bounty hunters from galaxy edge comic that is set after this i think. I love the look off of Mon cala. Also is that Nossor Ri from TCW who helped the former king. Is this the first itme sincde that how we have seen him. I liked the teased pages with Ackbar's son and seems him and Ri don't like each other. Also is the king related to the former or a new elected one from after the former kings death.

 

As Sinre said, I suspect it's remote location is helping it. It is the opposite side of the Galaxy from the First Order's main invasion points and far from their holdings in the Unknown Regions and New Territories.

I don't doubt that Mon Cala is on the list of worlds to occupy though. Unless the First Order is entirely stupid and doesn't know the history of the past 30+ years, lol.

One other consideration is that 30+ years post-Endor that Mon Cala, living in decades of piece, is not focused on warship production. However, that would still be stupid on the First Order's part, as their ships have a history of being modified into combat ships...

This might sound silly, but I always get more excited for an issue when it has that double-page STAR WARS logo spread at the beginning. It's such a little thing and yet it somehow lends the story that epic, cinematic feeI. I can practically hear the blare of the trumpets!
