Usually, yes, but it's hard to believe that Kuat builds 13 SSDs a year, rather than having built 13 SSDs to date.

So what Wookieepedia told you was true . . . from a certain point of view.

There's a great quote in that interview about how canon partially draws from Legends infrastructure to form its own:

One thing that I love about veteran authors like Dan Wallace, Jason Fry, and Pablo Hidalgo is how they enrich the new canon with references to the old. Dan's quote about this using the same "props" popped up in some interviews when the Rebel Files first came out, it's probably one of the best references on how to view old continuity and use it.

It's why planets, species, ships, tech, weapons, creatures, etc are basically like 95% consistent with the old EU. :)

Kessel not being a potato makes up the other 5%.

That was already inconsistent in Legends, so I don't know if it's a full 5%. :p

It’s fine, there’s more than one Kessel. Even in canon.

Nobody can get it right. It’s cursed. :p

    "Even in canon"? How so?

Well, there is this little bit in the Wook's article on canon Kessel:
Personally, I don't think the discrepancy is worth any fuss, but there it is.

Maybe the Ghost arrived on an unusually "quiet" day for space weather, where the nebula was unusually hard to see.

Matt Martin posed this rough sketch on twitter showing the position of Rebels Kessel vs Solo Kessel. It was probably intended just as a rough concept and I have no idea if he was just spitballing or being official or anything, but the notion that there may be more than one in the canon universe is at least floating around.

As I recall, the non-stormy version of Kessel was only an establishing shot, noting plot-centric. IMHO, it would be better to just regard the "clear skys" version as a minor filming error rather then create two Kessels. It's not worth the continuity pretzels the latter would cause.

He wasn't implying there were 2 Kessels, he was showing its change in orbit. He says it's non-canon in the tweet.

Here is the drawing for those who want to see it:

As fandom implodes all around us, the idea that fans have grown so accustomed to bizarre retcons that they naturally interpret Matt Martin's very professional non-canon finger-illustration as "there are two Kessels" is, in a strange way, actually kind of comforting. It feels like a throwback to simpler times.

To be fair, I did say it was "floating around" so I guess an orbit kind of counts, huh? ;)

Thanks for digging up the actual tweet in question though -- that helps clarify.

edit: aha, this explains the confusion! The png looked very different here. The white background makes it look like two Kessels, and the green text about the orbit is completely obscured.

This finally arrived in my local bookstore! I've been dying to get my hands on it since January when I saw a canon article was created for the Omega Frost on Wookieepedia. That's my absolute favorite Legends reference in this book. [face_love] My second favorite is Cynabar's InfoNet. Thank you for reintroducing them, Mr. Wallace.

Three of the four pocket items (Yavin base evacuation checklist, KDY corporate folder, and Lando's Alliance intake personnel card) are not included in the book-only edition. The fourth pocket item (Jyn's prison intake form) has been reprinted (at least in part?) as a page. The fifth removable item (a loose insert sheet) has been reprinted as the first page:

(I would've liked that KDY brochure but oh well -- those paying more for the deluxe edition deserve some exclusive goodies!)
