I love the romantic ending with Kirsh (your husband) and Kithera (you) kissing. It's my first choice

@Kit' SQUEE! SQUEE! SQUEE! THIS is something I sorta always wished would happen between them, but now that I've read it, I really LOVE it!

The way Kirsh senses the Force is exquisite.

I adore this entire conversation and the fact that it mirrors an RL one you had is just SWEET as chocolate! [face_love]

So, I admit I cheated and read both endings! I opened the angsty one first (it’s just been that kind of week, and even that kind of morning), but I like them both pretty much equally (really!) and find them both to be well in character for both Kirsh and Kithera at this stage of their lives. This was certainly a very unique and creative way to approach the “genre change” prompt (in fact, you made it a double whammy!), and it was fun seeing more of both these characters at this age and this early stage of their lives and careers. Kit’s statement about “rules that don’t make sense” is very her, and I know that sentiment sticks with her lifelong. Great job, and thanks so much for sharing! =D=

Thanks guys :) I was Kirsh in this conversation and my partner was Kit (even though in real life his personality is far more like Kirsh and mine is Kit's).

I asked him (hopefully) if he'd ever thought about dating within our friendship group and he said that it would be too incestuous. My heart broke at that moment (when I remember that moment I swear I hear a little 'dink' noise as it breaks). Luckily he revised that rule 3 months later when I confessed how I felt...and he laughed at me...

But that's a story for another time.
We've been together for 18 years this year and married for 14 - so it turned out well!

I've been thinking about it a lot recently - especially with how Snips and Snails is currently going - that Kirsh's love for Kithera is just always there...which made me then wonder what would happen if they could actually manage to get their stuff together.

Thank you :D I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Me too. Less like Zallie's weave, and more like an impressionist painting, with colours overlaying everything in moving and shifting splotches.

Massive hugs for you. That sounds really awful. I hope it's gotten better!

Yeah...I totally did this on purpose and not just because I had two ideas of how I wanted it to end and wrote both and then couldn't choose which one to post. Definitely on purpose and not because I'm indecisive!

It certainly does. Although she would argue that it is better than Namia's "The rules don't apply to me when they are rules I specifically don't like".

Thank you so much for reading :D

    Title: Identity
    Characters: Nyx Senka, Tara Tarindae
    Timeframe: 55BBY
Challenge/Prompt: Write a story between 100 and 400 words, and include these three words: diligent, grandiose, berate
    Word Count:
    400

    *~*~*

Grandiose. That’s the only word that springs to mind when I see the Jedi Temple. It’s got more marble plinths and colonnades than any building rightfully should.

“Did your founders get a discount on columns?” I ask. Tara’s brow furrows. “Never mind,” I mutter as she gives me a strange look. I surmise it is for me, but as always it is directed to somewhere over my left shoulder.

“Nyx, I…please…um…don’t stuff this up,” Tara says and grasps my hand. Fluttery warmth spreads through my body at her touch. “I need this to go well.”

“I’ll be the most diligent student of expected Jedi courtesies and etiquette you’ve ever seen,” I tease back, my accent sliding into upper class Coriscanti with practiced ease. I catch the less-than-bemused look on Tara’s face.

“One day you’re going to have to tell me how you manage to do that so easily.”

“Do what? Be adorable?” I say. The corners of her mouth twitch in amusement and my stomach feels like it’s full of butterflies. I wonder if she can feel my feelings through the Force. I kind of hope she can.

“The accent thing. For someone who hangs out in the Coruscant underworld, you seem equally comfortable in the echelons of the upper class too.”

“Echelons, that’s a fancy word,” I tease trying to avoid the subject. When her expression doesn’t change, I shrug even though I know she can’t see it. “Figure you would have put those amazing archivist skills to work already and know everything about me.”

“I have,” Tara said, her cheeks reddening slightly. The change in colour made the scars on her face stand like little silver and pink rivulets. “But I want to hear it from you.”

The fluttering butterflies that had been traversing my stomach dropped into the sudden abyss that opened below them. She knows. Her grip tightens momentarily.

“As long as you don’t berate me for my life choices,” I say, trying to keep my voice light. “I don’t need to add more people to that list. Marcellan does that enough.”

Tara strokes the back of my hand. “I promise.”

We reach the top of the long, shallow stairs that dominated the entrance to the Jedi Temple.

I nod. “Fine. When today is done and the Council, whoever they are, give you the go ahead, I’ll tell you everything about how I became Nyx Senka.”

Nyx is definitely in love with Tara. At this point the feeling is mutual. Although I think the feeling was probably almost mutual right from the beginning.

Definitely. Although Nyx wouldn't let you know. Nyx would never let you know!

    Title: Bound by the Force
Characters: Tara Tarindae, Davin Dor, Saelyra, Caelum DuCrion, Che
    Timeframe: 19BBY
Challenge/Prompt: Write at least 2,000 words in the form of letters exchanged between two or more characters
    Word Count: 4292

Author's note: Some of the letters are coded. If you want to break the code yourself go to https://www.boxentriq.com/code-breaking/columnar-transposition-cipher and copy the text in. Make sure there is no cheeky space between before the first letter when you copy it. The key is ba . Otherwise I've put it in spoiler text for you.

Also the Multarf and Bauston are first introduced in Earth Talker

    Davin.

You really should have come with us to Kankara. I know you said you wanted to stay to look after the archives, and to do your part for this cursed war…but every Jedi needs a break - and by now you should be enjoying your retirement rather than pushing yourself to be quartermaster and archivist…Although I rather expect it’s less because you love organising things and more because you can’t really ever leave the shadows.

The Multvarf have been so good accommodating our extended stay. Che has blossomed in this environment. Not that I can really say that I’m surprised. I think it's really important for a Jedi to connect with their heritage. I mean what happened with Namia and her family should have taught us all that, but the Temple doesn’t listen and- Sorry. Ignore that last bit. I know you’ve heard my particular rant on this topic too many times to count.

Setting that aside, it has been a pleasure listening to Che discover what she thought were odd quirks are just part of being Multvarf has been beautiful. She’s trying to teach Caelum to feel the special way of the Force down here, but, despite their close bond, she hasn’t had much luck. I fear that my former padawan is struggling in the endless darkness.

I’m going to suggest that he returns topside to continue the negotiations with the Bauson. Che should stay down here. I know Caelum will argue that as Che is his padawan, she should go with him, but I think she would be better served staying down here.

I hope you are going well and that Bound by the Force is almost ready to be edited. Remember to keep a copy from the first print run for the Archive.

Hope to hear from you soon. I know communication with the Outer Rim can be fraught. I'm trying to make sure I record all of these in the quietest section of the burrows. The microphone picks up every little thing. Make sure you do the same. Also send all your message via the Bauson and Caelum can bring it down with him when he returns.

    Love

    Tara.

    Dearest Tara,

I was really quite delighted to receive your missive. I calculated that it took three standard days to travel its way across the entire universe. It arrived on the first day of the new year, and was a pleasing present with which to start the new year.

I should have written back to you straight away, but fortunately for me, and unfortunately for you, I was struck with the writing bug and I managed to churn my way through the last few chapters of Bound by the Force. I think this may be my last manuscript. The way this war is going, public opinion is turning against anything to do with the Jedi. Where once we were the hero of the story, I feel that soon we will be cast as the villains unless the Council can come to their senses and end this senseless loss of life sooner rather than later.

For your perusal I have attached a short snippet of my latest chapter. I hope that it delights you. I’m not sure about the Multvarf sensibilities on the subject of love, so I’ll leave whether or not you share it in your capable hands.

As for me visiting, I’m afraid that is going to be harder than it looks. I’ve had to put the Council off from recalling the three of you by pointing out the serious and quite sensible work that Caelum is doing in that section of the galaxy. I hope you do not take offence that my shielding you says something about your lack of capabilities. Far from it. It’s just that I want to protect you, padawan mine, from the horror that this war is becoming. I’ve seen too many of my brethren fall and too many young Jedi maimed beyond repair. My only hope by staying here is that I can do my bit in the war effort and that I will eventually recall the three of you home when the air is clearer and less filled with the anger and bitterness of war.

Saelyra has also attached instructions for Caelum. They are in code, but I do not think our boy will have too hard a time finding its meaning.

Take care of yourself. Make sure that Che is practising with the Force as well as learning about her heritage. I have been finding old sources on the Multvarf. Apparently even though they are not what we would call traditionally force-sensitive, their ability to break, control and even mend rocks appears over and over again is spoken about in some of the more esoteric texts as being a Force variant. Perhaps you can see if one of them will show it to you and then write a paper on it for me to add to the archives.

    Missing you.

Excerpt from Bound by the Force

He looked at her, his eyes sparkling under the glittering light of the chandelier. His stomach clenched with lust and Jedi Master Nintwain knew better than to let it show. It wouldn’t help his cause to do so.
She stood before him in a stunning white gown that flowed around her like a dream, hair shining down her back like a waterfall from a cloudless sky. Her skin was as pale as fresh snow, her lips painted the same shade of red. He couldn't stop staring at her, even when she turned and smiled coyly at his gaze.
"Do you like my gown, Jedi Master Tawny?" She spoke softly, but he heard every word distinctly. He felt himself flush at her words and he tried to keep the grin off his face. He couldn't deny it though, her dress suited her perfectly.
"It's...very fetching," he said. He meant it, too. It made him feel like a knight in shining armour about to sweep her off her feet and into a passionate embrace.
He was going to enjoy this evening even though he would have to force himself to maintain composure. Nintwain could see the desire in her dark eyes, and he hoped she didn't notice how much he wanted to just reach out and touch her - grab her by the shoulders and kiss her deeply.

    Davin.

I read the excerpt that you sent me of Bound by the Force and I have my normal gripes about being overly verbose and hanging for far too long on the feelings of the characters without it ever going anywhere. No-one really cares about the lavishness of her dress, they just want to see the hero kiss the damsel and ride their hoverbikes off into the sunset. No doubt, despite your misgivings about the change in sentiment towards the Jedi, it will still sell exceptionally well and I will, once again, have to eat my words about the ridiculousness of what the general public likes and what is actually good literature.

On our front I’m afraid I do not have much to tell you. I have done as you suggested and asked the Multvarf to show me how they manipulate the Force to dig the passages that seem to underscore this section of Kankara. Despite my place as Earth Talker they seem reluctant to share it with me. I think that Che will do better in changing their minds.

They also keep telling me that “the soil quivers”. I’m not entirely sure what this means, but from what I can work out it isn’t a positive phrase. The earth mother, the Multvarf matriarch, keeps asking me if I can feel it, but the Force seems muddy and voices are unclear.

Caelum has adapted well to the Bauson culture. The surface dwelling species seemed quite reluctant initially to let him learn about their culture, but he has managed to make friends. I am very proud of him, Master, my little former-padawan, so used to hiding in the shadows, has finally found his own pathway. I know he frets that he could be keeping a closer eye on Che, but we’ve come to an understanding that the child having this experience is going to keep her far more grounded, then if she was made to struggle through the universe without realising her full potential. Down here in the darkness she’s finally overcoming those last few hurdles in finding her particular connection to the Force. It seems far deeper and stronger the longer we stay. I believe, although I will never tell him, that one day the apprentice will eclipse the Master.

Caelum still visits at least once a week. It’s one of the reasons for the delay in sending this missive. I believe he’s attached information for Saelyra. I hope she finds it useful.

Keep safe. Hopefully when Bound in the Force is published, you can finally join us here. I have the feeling that, at the moment, the Multvarf warren is the safest place in the galaxy.

    Your padawan, always.

    Tara.

No separatists activity on Bauson. Have gathered information that you requested about Maul. Information suggests he is allying himself with the death watch. Working with Savage Opress. Monetary links between Maul and the leaders of neighbouring planets to Bauson. Bausons are very reluctant to get involved. Not surprising for a hermit kingdom and reclusive people.

Let me know what else you need to know.

Have to keep this short. Temple has been bombed. Many dead. More injured. I am unharmed. Archive safe. Council suspects it’s Skywalker’s padawan. I’m not sure. Not enough information. Do not return. My publisher is happy with the first draft of Bound by the Force. Has sent it to editors. Sae Sae appreciates Caelum’s perspicacity on the Zabrak issue. Davin,

I am glad to hear that the Temple is slowly recovering from the bombings. I still can’t believe that it was one of our own. I know you told me not to come back for the funerals, but I still feel that I have abrogated my responsibility in not doing so. As this war draws on, I feel helpless. I know you and the Council believe that I am much better served being attaché to the Multvarf and a sensible and rather obvious cover for whatever it is that Saelyra has Caelum doing on the surface.

There has been quite a hum of movement down here. The Multarf are digging quite a few new passages. They’ve also allowed Che to install some lights for Caelum and you. It has lead to some quite angry exchanges, but the matriarch has put her foot down. The lights are coming to the underground and although I’m not sure it will make Caelum entirely comfortable, I’m sure it will make life easier for both of you when you eventually arrive.

Caelum’s sends Saelyra his best wishes.

Caelum. See what you can find out about former Jedi - Master Dooku. Kenobi and Skywalker have had run-ins with him that make me suspicious that some wider plan is in action that we don’t know about.
I also need to move sectors. If you can reach Akira tell them to meet me at the coordinates - 6339.38; 5667.3 If not I will make my own way to the outer rim and track them down. I think despite their resistance they may be a great help to the Republic. Sae

    Davin,

Caelum got a message from Saelyra that Bound by the Force is in print. You have no idea how pleased that makes me. Now you have no more excuses not to take some time for yourself. Please come visit us. I very much miss your guidance and quiet counsel and I could do with it now.

I finally got to experience how the Multvarf manipulate the Force and I’ve written up the information for the archive like you have asked. Hopefully it is enough to extend the funding and our stay.

I know that is selfish of me, but the strange ache I get whenever I think about it, and the cluttered murmurings of the Force leave me with nothing but anxiety. I’m not sure if it’s because of the distance between us, or because the Force moves differently underground, but I can barely feel you. I can’t wait to finally have you here with us.

My other even more selfish motivation is that I want to keep both Caelum and Che out of this war. Caelum seems to have been drawn in enough as it is in his Shadow role. I keep warning him to be safe, but he just pats me on the shoulder and tells me not to worry and to keep teaching Che. I finally know why you used to complain when I acted like that – there is a strange sadness at watching my young knight not need my council – I just want to keep him safe and close for a little while longer. Hopefully the Council sees his worth as a spy rather than needing his blade in battle.

When you arrive, I will have to introduce you to Yundari, the current Multvarf matriarch. She also expressed concern that you should arrive soon. Make sure you bring a copy of Bound by the Force with you. Sae Sae said that the dedication is overly sappy and now I want to know what it says. Maybe Sae Sae can join us too? It would be nice to have the whole family back together.

Some links to Dooku in the area. Have pushed contacts to discover links. Find being off Bauston homeworld easier as less attention drawn to this world will hopefully mean that the Separatists do not decide to make a foothold here. Not sure how long we could remain if they did. Bauston are at least friendly. We have an ally in them. Still no luck in tracking down Tano. Have made contact with Akira. They will endeavour to meet you at the rendezvous point. C

    Tara.

Good news! I’ve just okayed the finished copy of Bound by the Force! It is done! That means tomorrow I’m on my way to you. Saelyra said she will meet me halfway there so we can travel together. I can’t wait to meet Yundarri and to see how much Che has grown. I’ve attached my copy of it to you. You might like the foreword.

I know you are worried about Caelum, but have faith. Your little padawan of light is forging his own path. He will do a good job of guiding Che once the war is over. For now let him experience the more dangerous parts of being a Shadow while you keep his padawan safe and let her experience her own culture and ways of using the Force.

    Distant sounds of blaster fire.

Hold on a second, padawan mine. I’ve just got to check what’s going on. It shouldn’t be anything serious, probably some younger padawans have set a training droid off in the hallways again.

    Communique paused: 20:18
    Communique resumed: 20:19

Padawan mine. The Temple is under attack. Obi-wan’s foolish padawan has a legion of stormtroopers at his back. They seem to be going systematically floor by floor. They are killing everyone they come across, padawan. Slaughtering them all.

I saw it on the security system. Part of me refuses to believe it. Everyone. Everyone is dead. They’re even killing the initiates, Tara.

    Heavy breathing.

    Children. They’re killing children.

Heavy breathing. Sound of something hitting the table. Distant blaster fire. Screams.

Soon they will come here. I need to destroy our records. Where Jedi are stationed. The location of possible Force-sensitive children.

Whoever has turned Anakin’s head is playing a long-game. Skywalker hasn’t the intelligence to set this whole thing in motion. Whoever has manipulated him knows what they are doing. They didn’t kill the babies either. The initiate masters are dead, but the babies they’ve left. That means that they want them. That whomever is manipulating Skywalking needs those babies. They left them in their cradles. Amongst the dead bodies of the Masters. I can feel the babies screaming in the Force.

    I can feel Force screaming.

    Pause. Sound of rapid typing.

So padawan. This is my last message to you. Keep safe my darling one. I am going to destroy the files that I have spent my life collating and keeping safe. I’m going to do it to keep you, and Caelum and Che safe. I’m going to do it to keep all of us who remain safe.

    Sound of blaster fire.

It is done. The files are gone. They are almost at the door. I should press send, but I have so much to say to you. So much I wanted to do. I should take Bound by the Force off this message so it sends faster, but I want you to read the dedication. I want you and Sae, Caleum and Che to know what you meant to me.

So, these are my last words for you. You are not of shadow. You are of light. You, Sae Sae, Caelum and Che have pulled me from my darkest despair and shown me that we will always overcome. We will always persevere. I would not have changed anything, padawan mine. I am very proud of you.

Do not avenge me. Keep safe. Keep quiet. Live.

    Sound of a door opening.

    Do not return.

    Much love.

    Dav-

    Davin.

The Multvarf keep acting quite strangely. They’re talking about the rise of the dark father. Have you heard anything or read anything in the archives? I know I’ve asked you about this before, but they keep telling me that only the earth mother can keep us safe.

Yundarri, their head matriarch, is collapsing the lead tunnel tonight and they are working feverishly to move the children and supplies further down into the complex.

I’ve sent Caelum a message that he needs to return otherwise I believe he will be blocked off by the collapsed tunnel. Che has caught the rest of the Multvarf’s odd desire to go down deeper. She was even talking about going up to the surface today to make sure that Caelum returns. She almost got angry when I said that I’d sent him a message. She said it wasn’t enough. She keeps talking about the earth mother needing all of her children.

I’m hoping that Caelum returns soon, otherwise I’m worried she will just go up there. Maybe he can talk some sense into his own padawan because, for once, I cannot. She says the Dark Father is waking and that his rage is endless. I’m not sure what she means. I can’t find anything in the texts about any dark father, but the Multvarf are moving as one.

I’ve meditated endlessly, but the Force is cloudy and feels wrong. I hope you are safe.

Speaking of the nerf-herder that is my former padawan, I can hear Caelum. He must have just arrived. I can hear the rustle of the communique in his hands. Hopefully it’s from you. He’s ranting that it took too long to get the message to download. Says that he almost left it. This is not like Caelum. Hold on a second Master. He’s saying something about the fact that we have to move. Saying something about—

Transmission indecipherable. Several voices speaking at once.

Get out of there Master. Please. Please. Please be safe. Caelum is saying that there are reports that Jedi are dying. That the Temple has been attacked. One of his contacts sent him a message to run. He stayed on the surface long enough to get your message. I haven’t read it yet. The Force sounds strange. It sounds like screaming…

Please be safe. Please take care. Use the Miraluka tunnels if you can. Get to us. Please get to us.

The Multvarf are going to collapse the tunnel. I won’t be able to send this.

    I love you Master.

    Please be safe.

Sorry for falling behind on reviews! I was reading as you posted, but DRL and all that. So:

    Run

Phew! I went and skimmed through Noonflower (and I'll be back for a more in-depth read) and that was already a very angsty story, but this one took the angst up to eleven! Taeyn was in a no-win situation in the first place, and he would suffer from survivor's guilt either way, but in this version of the story his "proper" guilt is staring him in the face, and he'll never be able to run away from it. As I mentioned I'm still in the process of catching up with the Kit'verse, but I know already that in the "canon" version it's Kithera who is in this situation, and I can imagine that it was interesting to explore this what-may-have-been with Del.

    An Innocent Ship

I loved this one! It was my first encounter with Bryer and I really enjoyed how you portrayed the contrast between him and Nicco (and now I definitely want to read their backstory, because their encounter and Bryer's inclusion in The Family™ must have been quite something), both in the present-time and in the flashforward. One titbit that stood out to me was the fact that, in the flashforward, Bryer's aristocratic manners have somewhat rubbed off on Nicco and I could just see him refilling his husband's glass nonchalantly in front of the Imperial officer. And I absolutely loved how you used the flashforward to bring us back to the creation of these hidden drawers after we started out hearing about the no-hidey-hole rule. It was really well done!

    Dragon

Another one where you knocked it out of the park, and the dream theme with the final reveal worked even better because the story was so short. It started like a nightmare with a fantastical creature, but when it returned to reality, so to speak, it evolved into a vision. Just amazing writing!

The 9 Lives of Nyx Senka

As you can imagine, the moment I saw the title I sat comfortably in my chair and settled for the ride, because I knew I would love this, and I did! Nyx has such an imitable voice under your pen; the first paragraph alone would get a multi-page review if I started mentioning all the little titbits that are so... Nyx. The whole conversation with Vulius was priceless, with Nyx's professional pride getting the better of her when she starts talking about the nephew, Augie's arrival (and I need someone to draw her, because a pouting female Thisspiasian with makeup and long eyelashes is just... more than my mind can process) and the way she makes up a story where Nyx saved her, and of course Nyx not being able to shut her big mouth and asking again about the Kammris Falcon at the end. This story was pure pleasure to read, and I hope we get to see more of Nyx soon!

    In another galaxy

I'm amazed at how much mileage you got from the rewrite of a single drabble! And what is more, I'm really impressed with how you wrote the first segment of the story in such a way that either outcome was perfectly plausible – because with my detail-obsessed brain, I had of course to read it multiple times and check out both endings :p It was very nicely done!

    Identity

Yay, more Nyx! And Tara! And... we're getting there, apparently! Like Tara I want to know more about Nyx's background; you've been teasing us forever already and we don't have the Jedi Archives or Tara's mad skillz to figure it out – plus, I'm sure that it'll be a thrilling tale! Meanwhile, what is the Jedi Council supposed to give the go-ahead to precisely? Could it be more Kammris Falcon business? Really, Kit, I'm hopelessly hooked, you need to write faster! =D=

    Bound by the Force

I loved every word of this and I'll get into details in a moment, but first I have to jump around happily and punch the air because you gave us a sample of Davin's trashy romance novels at last! [face_party] Not only was it just as trashy as advertised, but the cherry on the cake was Tara's commentary on it. Even after all these years of knowing Davin, she's just not a fan :p

I thought the setting was very well laid out from the first message, with Davin still in the Jedi Temple and Tara & Co on a planet that features two very different species and environments. Not only was the worldbuilding lovely but it also created a built-in reason for the messages between Caelum and Saelyra to be tacked on to those between Tara and Davin. And because I'm one of those obsessed people who always work their dates in GrS, I could see at which point of the war this was happening, and I had a bad feeling about this from the get-go – although I hoped until the very end that Davin would go and visit them instead of staying on Coruscant, but alas. There was just so much great foreshadowing throughout, with Tara commenting that "one day the apprentice will eclipse the Master" and the "Multvarf warren is the safest place in the galaxy", and the story had ominous written all over it even through the apparently innocuous correspondence.

Meanwhile, Saelyra and Calum's messages allowed us to keep up with their various investigations, but also gave us a picture of things happening in the galaxy in general and in the Kit'verse corner of the galaxy in particular. I'm especially curious to find out someday how Ahsoka and "Akira" fit into this picture – because if Saelyra is on her way to the rendezvous point... could this mean that she found the FoS and got away in time?

The two final messages were heartrending – with Davin on the one hand, racing against the clock to complete his while destroying the archives that need to be destroyed as death stares him in the face, and Tara on the other, who has a serious inkling that something is not right, who is trying to get hold of Caelum, and when he finally comes... :_|

And the coda with the dedication... not gonna lie, I teared up when I read it. Poor, dear Davin @};-

What a story, Kit! Congrats on finishing your KR. You had me laughing then crying then laughing again for three months. I hope you're proud of yourself :p

Great piece Kit. Davin and his writing and ending like this. Murdered by Darth Vader but being able to destroy the archives.

“Identity”: Ooh, this looks very much like Tara taking Nyx to “meet the family,” in a way! ;) It’s fun to see them at this more advanced stage of their relationship, with them as an official “item” but still in some ways having much to learn about each other. I love how they both get to show special, unique skills that impress each other: Nyx by the way she disguises her voice, Tara by her formidable archival skills that have managed to pull up everything about Nyx’s background! But it’s true that there’s something very different and special about hearing those stories in person, from the actual beloved person. All good vibes to these two on their meeting with the Council; great to see them both again! :)

“Bound by the Force”: Oh, oh, oh, what is this I have just read? Davin! Nooooo! :_| Oh man, this is heartbreaking: not just for Davin, but of course for all of the archives he felt forced to delete (but it was so brave of him to do so), and to his family of padawans—Tara, Saelyra, Caelum, Che—who will now have to carry on without him. The fall of the Jedi Order is such a huge moment in the SW universe and described again and again in so many official sources that we tend to forget just how cataclysmic it really was, but we REALLY see that up close and personal in this exchange of letters. And I guess given the chronology it was bound to hit our Family of Shadows sooner or later—but all the same! =(( To think, too, that this happens just as Davin finishes his novel. Yes, it's trashy and bodice-rippy in true Davin style, but I love that its title, Bound by the Force, is the title of this story too, and describes not only the star-crossed Jedi romance described within its covers but also the bond between Davin and "padawans his." And that dedication at the very end... oh my heart! His love for his family really will live on. @};-

It was super cool to see Tara as Earth-Talker among the Multvarf once again, too! They are much more on-point with their Dark Father prophecy than they or Tara might realize, of course. We who are out-of-universe know who that is, of course, but now I'm wondering about the Earth Mother... is that, too, someone we know? (Perhaps even Tara herself!) The cryptography in the letters between Saelyra and Caelum was a really neat touch, too; it made a striking contrast to see their "mission-speak" in parallel with the more personal exchanges between Tara and Davin, but we soon find out that all four of them—plus Che, whom we don't hear from directly in this story but is one of the more intriguing characters for that reason—are all in it together. And I noted another familiar name: Akira! ;) Love the idea that the Family of Scoundrels have a role in aiding this Family of Shadows, and like Chyn I'm very eager to see where that might lead.

Congratulations on this wonderful wrap-up to a wonderful Run! I've really been enjoying following your series from start to finish (even if I didn't always do it in a timely manner; sorry!), and this truly was a fitting and feeling-filled culmination. Be very, very proud of yourself, ma'am! =D=
