Next visual guide? I'm more interested in visual guides and encyclopedias than novels and comics these days anyway.
My thought exactly, naming a background extra Ronan is a rather easy thing to do, especially since, IIRC, his appearance description in the novel is quite vague. Although I'd like at least one scene with him being super devoted to Krennic, with Dedra/Mothma reacting on it with surprise, for the sake of comedy and maybe some plot parallels.
Well, one reason why it doesn't get more audience is the general impression of "Star Wars is corny/bad." They're trying to get as much interest from all corners as possible. They know they have the diehard Star Wars fans in their corner already. And it apparently worked with creating some buzz.
Spoiler They might be part of the ISB, as I'm pretty sure in the next scene with Dedra Meero, one can be seen in the background walking around the corner - the lack of the helmet and upper leg armour makes me think it's the same trooper type.
They showed the surface of Dantooine in Resistance. Very much based on the depiction in KOTOR I never noticed until today when it was pointed out on reddit, that K-2SO has yellow markings, while every other K2 series droid in Rogue One, Andor and the video games have red.
^ Since R1 was classic era, that means K is command branch, and all the others are security and engineering.
According to the new Complete Locations... Spoiler we are seeing in Andor Season 2 an EU Legends event depicted that canon so far acknowledged in guides, but never depicted itself. Leading straight into a Rebels episode's continuation.
Spoiler The Rebels episode in question being "Secret Cargo," presumably. I've mentioned this before, but man, how cool is it that a piece of background lore from a 35-year-old RPG book has had longevity to the point where it will serve as a plot point in a live action series. This era of SW never ceases to amaze.
Watched the trailer again. There is a scene in there with stormtroopers in like a hangar. I swear...it looks like they used the Rise of the Resistance ride at Disney World as a location for that shot.
Was watching the "A Special Look" at Andor, Season 2. There might be a huge link to the Sequels here. Spoiler At the 1:27 mark Mon Mothma is seen talking to a Tarsunt. Is that Lanever Villecham, future Chancellor of the New Republic? The color of the skin, with the beard and mustache, along with the cartilage structure of the nose, looks exactly like Villecham.
The ROTS deleted scene was such a great long-term career investment for the Mon Mothma actress. It helps she hasn't aged a day since 2005. Andor, Ahsoka, possibly in the other New Republic shows/movies like the Mandalorian. Since LFL loves its Star Wars special edition, they really should just tidy-up and re-insert those scenes to ROTS on Disney Plus. It's probably too late, but even in the 20th anniversary re-release in theaters this April-May.
Youtube version of special look out: Normally I would write up my own list but this reddit comment summarizes everything I saw and a few things I didn't: Spoiler Also, new poster: Spoiler I could see that being a cameo. Course, given how the fisherman who helped Andor looked almost exactly like this member of the Partisans who has a different name, it might just be a reused costume.
I don’t know if they stay faithful to the Legends version of the Ghorman Massacre, probably not completely… but I hope there’s still an element of it. It just goes beyond “normal” massacre when you land a Star Destroyer on peaceful protesters who won’t budge. It’s kind of like if Tiananmen Square’s one-man protest had the tank just speed-run over the guy. It’s the utter disregard for optics, the mask coming off, that made the Legends version so memorable. I hope there’s still that element. There’s a reason why this should be the breaking point, for Mon Mothma in particular.
I hope they got a catchy song for the protest... given the Les Miserables comparisons and spoilers on the net, I do hope so! Spoiler I love how the Special Look already shows parts of Ghorman and Dantooine!
Agreed. It is compelling imagery, innocent people literally crushed under the weight of the empire's tyranny. A real turning point that showed that there was no peaceful conflict resolution with the empire, because they respond to non-violence with violence. Does look like it is going to be a normal riot and violent response from the previews though. A protest song? That would be quite interesting and enjoyable.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the focus is going to shift towards Cassian and Luthen's involvement in radicalizing protesters on Ghorman, with the former lately blaming himself for the Empire reacting with the massacre.
Was it really announced 7 years ago? I don’t have any recollection of it existing before that 2020 Disney expo slate reveal. Crazy
