I'm actually pretty disappointed that they are going back into the TCW era. I was hoping this comic would tell us more about how Kanan became the guy he was at the beginning of AND.

That being said, it's not like I'm giving up on this comic or anything. It's been solid so far and it will probably continue to be pretty good.

I think Hera is probably enjoying the sight of a semi-naked Kanan floating in that Bacta Tank

 

I mean aside from the part where he got stabbed and lost a lot of blood.

 

As Kanan is having a flashback,in reality I'm pretty sure Hera is like

"Ok guys everyone out, I'll watch over Kanan by myself........for.....security reasons............"

 

I am still pretty sure she has seen him naked before

 

Let's see a flashback about that then

Great issue and the art has improved greatly from last issue. Also loved the small blink and you'll miss it cameo.

I... don't get the whole thing with Depa Billaba. Within the context of the Expanded Universe, it makes sense, but here, in the new canon... it's alluding to nothing.

EDIT: Never mind. I hadn't gotten to the end yet. *Sigh* I had hoped this would recanonize some things...

 

I'm not familiar with Depa Billaba's EU backstory, so it's all new to me. I really enjoyed the issue and it's not hard to miss the cameo, AndrewPascoe

To make a long story short, EU Billaba was sent on a mission on the planet of Haruun Kal, where she was to aid in an uprising against the Seppies. However, during the mission, she fell to the dark side and went mad in the process. When her former master (Mace Windu himself) tried to reach her, she attacked him but ended up falling into a comatose state. It all happened in a book (Shatterpoint) that everyone here except me seems to hate with a passion.

The Jedi healers did not manage to wake her up, and if she ever came to awake, she would be tried for crimes against civilization she committed on Haruun Kal. Last time we saw EU Billaba, her comatose body still lay in the rooftop meditation gardens of the Jedi Temple.

You can see why I got excited/intrigued when she said she was coming out of a six-month coma, and when the other councillors said she needed to have her menrtal and emotional state tested.

I don't think it's Luminara. She looks too young and small.

 

She has the exact same outfit, tattoos, and facial structure. That's Luminara. She looks small because she's in the background.

Speaking of cameos,

Ahahaha it hurts.

 

That's the cameo I saw. Didn't see the Luminara one - good eye!

 

And there's Kit Fisto too.

 

So did Caleb recognise Depa while she was in the bacta tank because of the events of what happened in the prologue of A New Dawn (Which if I remember correctly was set during the first few months of the war) or did he just recognise her because she's Depa Billaba?
