The most serious question about season three is will Kanan keep turning a blind eye to Ezra's growing dark side? does he not see the darkness in the boy's action? I really hope those years in exile don't make him too blind to his former Jedi ways...

That's what I'm thinking also, it will be interesting to see how that plays out, or if kanan can feel him turning to dark side, and keeps him in check. Season 3 is going to be very interesting.

In the later part of season 2, Kanan seemed to be feeling that he and Ezra may be a problem for the rebellion if they stick around due to the dark siders always tracking them down. After the big showdown in the finale, Kanan's injury, and now Maul on the loose, it seems like the wise thing for him to do would be to go into hiding like Yoda and Kenobi. Of course Hera would want him to stay, and as a main character he will stay whether it makes sense or not, but Kanan and Ezra being a magnet for Vader and the Empire is going to be a constant problem for the Rebellion. I wonder how this will be weighing on Kanan's mind in season 3 and if ultimately our group of rebels will leave at the conclusion of the series for the Rebellion's sake?

I don't think Kanan knows Ezra actually kept the holocron? He couldn't ever see him holding it.

Well what does he think actually happened after they removed the holocron from the obelisk? They could have destroyed it, sure, but Vader kind of forced them to escape. Better to run away with it after nearly losing it to Vader once already.

The whole point of that last scene where Kanan turned his head was to indicate that Kanan sensed Ezra opening the holocron.

Let's look on the bright side - Kanan won't see Ezra's fall to the darkside.

But as with him staying blind for season 3 - people are already claiming that if he will get some optic implants aka robotic vision it will be against his character or it will feel forced. Let's just think about it - Kanan is rather logical guy who does what he think will benefit him and the rebelion most, he's trying to do things "jedi" way, but he ends up doing it his way most of the time. He's like neutral good rather than lawful good like jedi should be. He was stealing and working with black market and shady persons like Vizago. And even if he would be perfect example of jedi who actually follows the code (even Yoda doesn't - it was his emotions that made him allow Anakin training despite knowledge that this will go sithy), Jedi wouldn't have anything against getting new sight after losing both eyes, I think in either TCW or prequels there was some jedi with helmet that allowed him to see, but I'm not 100% sure. I'd bet money on them making him stay blind rather than getting new eyes, but let's be honest in his situation we all would go get those optics right away, I mean he still could turn the implants off and go full Toph, with only difference being the fact that he could actually see something if he'd want to. Unless he'd run out of batteries, or get EMP to the face.
I'm against him staying blind - we already have had enough blind buttkicking sages everywhere that they are pretty much cliche, but as I wrote i doubt they will give him new eyes. On the other hand if he will become another sarcastic Toph I'm all in for it.

Kanan not getting cybernetic eyes would have been like Luke saying..."WTF..I can get around with only 1 hand...I mean I need 2 hands to fly a fighter...and I am a righty so will have to relearn all the stuff I do normally with my right hand to do it with my left hand....but fegedaboutit....I'll just be known as Lefty Skywalker from now on...."

My main issue is with the apparent sophistication of his blindfold-holders. He does not need sci-fi bits of metal on the sides of his head to hold a piece of cloth over his eyes.

My other issue is that he was able to fight well without his eyesight immediately after becoming blind; that's something that should take practice. I mean, Ahsoka probably shouldn't have left Kanan alone with Maul if he were at the top of his game, much less after such an extreme trauma.

As was explained in the Rebes Recon and in the films, one of the first and most fundamental lessons Jedi are taught is how to fight / defend themselves without being able to see, using the Force and their other senses to guide them. Kanan went through the traditional Jedi training so it is assumed he mastered this ability long ago.

And having to use that experience, from before things went awry, could've been to show his potential as a Jedi. The episode makes a big deal of those moments just before the duel, so Kanan may have made a strong connection to the Force there. It's like the part in The Art of War that says: "Soldiers in desperate straits lose the sense of fear."

She left because Ezra was activating the temple, and Kanan wasn't in a good position to go. Ahsoka always seemed to expect/trust that Kanan would do what was needed, anyway, particularly in Siege of Lothal and The Lost Commanders. It's kind of questionable in this case, but that was a difficult situation.

But Kanan doesn't need eyes. He has the Force. Which seems to be the direction they're taking Kanan based on comments from the Rebels Recon.

I doubt he'll get his sight back and I'm okay with that, but hopefully they'll have a good justification since they've had cybernetic eyes in this very series.

Blind Jedi using the Force to see = cooler and way more story and character potential than "Yeah, I get new robo eyes .That was a rough 12 hours!"

Bonus points if Kanan suddenly wants to become the protector of Hell's kitchen.

Wouldn't be entirely surprised if we end up with a Kanan who can 'sense' things he never could before, possibly tying into Ezra's Dark Side temptations. Perhaps taking a step back from the physical fighting (because come on dude, Maul kills two inquisitors with ease, faces down Ahsoka but then gets punted off the temple by a blind man? Erm...) and gets to do a bit more spiritual/force-based stuff.

Robo-eyes would be a cop-out at this stage. And from the look of it Maul didn't just damage the eyes themselves, it was all the nerves and muscles etc. in the area, so stuffing a cyber-eye in there wouldn't actually solve anything.
