I think Kas'im and Qordis were fond of Bane in som ways. Qordis, despite his hate for Kopecz, was very capable of being "kind" to him. He also accepted Bane as a student. Qordis himself explained to Bane the basic ways of the Sith, and he was friendly when Bane went to his chambers (well, he was friendly at the early meetings). And he tried to help him overthrow Kaan.
Kas'im was a little rude and an exigent teacher, but accepted to train Bane with the lightsaber, even though his fellow masters had cast him aside. And, obviously he was fond of him for he presented Bane with Na'daz lightsaber. He also gave his pupil advices, answered his doubts, and supported him against Sirak and Qordis. He wasn't happy when Kaan ordered him to kill his apprentice, but as he was loyal, he did his best to fullfil his mission. I think there was something good about Kas'im, I think he had a noble heart, or so I believe......

I found that Qordis was only "affectionate" in order to manipulate Bane. If Qordis truly cared about Bane, he wouldn't have blown Bane off after his first duel defeat. Kas'im however, I felt did truly care about Bane, at least as a student. He went above and beyond in terms of saber training, and I think was truly disappointed on Lehon.

I agree that Kas'im did indeed care about Bane...made it al the more gut-wrenching when Bane crushed the living crap out of him at the end
