I love in the People article how she says she bought maple syrup to give to people to convince them she went to Canada to film an indie movie.
Rose gets pretty banged up. Stormtrooper babies were kidnapped from her home world. Rose flies the transport pod, which she has modified.
That bit about Rose zapping deserters made me laugh. That's great character building and it's going to be funny to boot.
It is wonderful how important she seems to be. Looking forward to meeting ‘Rose’, and seeing her kick First Order butt with Finn.
I'll be honest I wasn't a big fan of that part. Finn getting beat up again for laughs is kind of a turn off, and it makes Rose look like a bit of jerk for labeling him as a deserter after all he's done for the Resistance. Especially since he never formally joined it to begin with. Hopefully him getting knocked on his a** isn't the sole reason for him changing his mind, otherwise that would be massively disappointing.
He was trying to steal a transport to get to Rey. 1, He can't fly. 2, He doesn't know where Rey is. Thank goodness she zapped him else he would spend the entire movie playing dodgems in the Hangar Bay. I think we know who will be doing the heavy lifting in the Canto Bight segment.
Yeah after reading it its kinda like Rian just rewrote the original Finn and Rey dynamic but with a new character, and she is clearly more competent than him in the story, keeping him focused in the casino, and when MSW leaked the falthier chase they explicitly said Rose is the one who gets them out of it. I truly wonder how audiences will respond to this section of the movie because it just seems so uninspired narratively, but visually interesting.
I don’t think those were the reasons why she zapped him. But I dunno, I still want to see how that plays out in the movie. The book does paint her as a bit of a crazy woman.
She zapped him because she thought he was deserting. Which is weird because he would still need a pilot.
Yeah, but I don’t remember him officially joining the Resistance. And zapping people to submission because they want to "desert" an organization they never said they wanted to join sounds more First Order behavior. I think Rose “zapping” him as a result of fear he would, I don’t know, run back to the FO and tell them their location would be more understandable. But then again, the FO already knows their location. So.. I don’t know, as it is, sounds like a little bit extreme to me. As for Finn wanting to go after Rey despite not knowing how to fly…it sounds weird even for him, and I’m also not too thrilled about that part.
She is a Landing Deck Officer and we know that Resistance personnel are cracking under the strain and trying to steal ships, etc. so she's just protecting the resources. When Finn tries to take the transport she doesn't recognise him, he's just another guy in a Resistance uniform. When he comes round and she finds out who he is she is awe struck
So, Kelly Marie crying at the premier red carpet is the sweetest thing I've ever seen. I wanted to give her all the hugs. You cry all you want Kelly, you've earned it.
