I watched this movie not too long ago and I laughed the whole way through. Not because I found it particularly funny, but because I just couldn't believe it. I'd heard so much raving about the movie and that it was so awesome and that Quentin Tarantino was the bestest director ever, but the movie certainly didn't seem that way to me.

I just wonder why in the world that movie is so popular?

Does anyone else share this opinion?

Kill Bill was awesome. One of Tarantino's best.

Maybe violence and lots of blood openly shown, unlike most films that try not to show that in order not to repel the viewers? BTW, I like the film very much!

I found it something of a grower. Both Volume I & Volume II fairly underwhelmed me to start with... but the more I see them, the more I find and the more I love them.

Same thing happened to me with Jackie Brown.

I think it helps to be familiar with the genre of film that Kill Bill is paying homage to in the first place.

...i concur with Apollosmilegirl... Most people who don't 'get' Kill Bill never really had much experience with 1970's Kung-fu flicks..

Both "Kill Bill" films are among my favourites of the past couple years...

Maybe that's why I don't like it. I don't really like those kinds of movies either so...

I thought the exact same thing after watching both Spiderwus and Spiderwus 2. Just a matter of personal taste, I guess.

I thought they were both excellent, but I likedthe 2nd one better. I can understand how some people didn't like it though.

I believe you just answered your own question. If you don't like the movies that Kill Bill is paying homage to, you certainly won't like this movie. Common sense.

Kill Bill kicks serious ass, btw.

Anybody heard if there might ever be one part version of the two films released? If so, were any of the scenes in a different order? I heard that Q.T. showed a one part version at Cannes.

There's a duluxe Kill Bill DVD set coming out this Christmas, maybe it'll be on that.

Malkie, i don't know if i'd count Natural Born Killers as Tarantino's. Oliver Stone took it in a direction that wasn't intended and QT has spoken unhappiness about it on several occasions.

Me, I loved Kill Bill *and* NBK, so oh well.

Actually, to me Kill bil seemed like an old Kung Fu movie reject.

QT asked for his name to be taken out of the credits.
I read Qt's screenplay for NBK several years ago, it's basically the same movie, it just took place out of sequence. True Romance was written the same way.

To each his own... I thought it was excellent myself.

Though even if you don't dig Kill Bill as a whole, you gotta admit that David Carradine owned all in vol2.

Definitely. I loved how Tarantino built Bill up as the most evil individual this side of Hades in "Volume 1", and then, in voluem 2, you got 'the other side' of the story..

The Bride: "How did you find me?"

    Bill: "I'm the man."

Kill Bill was an ok film. Entertaining, but not as great as people made it out to be. Plus I find Tarantino to be a bit overrated.

I agree it was overly hyped by a lot of people, but I do find it an entertaining movie when I want to watch a lot of blood, kind of like evil dead.

What I dont understand is that I have a friend who hated The Last Samurai because it was "too violent" but LOVED Kill Bill
