I finally saw this film the other night.

I thought it was quite good, actually. I liked the fact that it had a different take on the Arthurian legend.

I also thought the actors did a fine job.

... And Keira is hawt of course...

    :)

What is new in the Director's Cut?

I saw the movie in theaters (I admit mostly because of Keira Knightley) and enjoyed it. So what did they add/change for the DVD?

They added a scene at the beginning that gives us a little more background about Arthur and extended the fight scenes. They also changed the order of the Guinevere/Arthur make out session and the scene where they look at out see the Saxons outside the castle. They also added a scene with Guinevere and Lancelot, I think. I dunno, there were quite a few little changes here and there.

I thought King Arthur was great. It wasn't as faced paced and I thought it would be, but I still enjoyed it.

For the second straight time, Keira has said one of the cheesiest lines heard in film. The first was in POTC "try wearing a corset"

And in this one: "its ok, I wont let anyone rape you" MY GOD, shocking dialogue.

I also thought the alternative ending was far far better than the theatrical release. The theatrical release was far too soppy for me, and didn't fit with the rest of the movie. I thought the alternate ending was far superoir.

I just saw the Director's Cut over the weekend. I was thinking it was probably bad because it was a director's cut, but apparently, it's still bad otherwise. Didn't like it, and didn't think there was much there. Kind of shallow, but the music I thought was good. I wanted to watch something like Troy just to get the bad taste out of my mouth.

I just saw the Director's Cut. I thought that the alternate ending was a little better becuase it extended Lancelot's death ceremony and it didn't have the wedding. Setting the movie in the Dark Ages was interesting because it is not often that we see films that take place in during that time. Finally, the Romans actually had Italian sounding accents instead of British ones. The actors playing the knights were good. I didn't get the wedding thing. If we were supposed to think that Guenivere and Arthur were in love, then the film and the actors really didn't show it. It seemed to me like they just wanted to give the movie the happy, fairytale ending even though movie was supposed to defy legend and be more realistic. I thought Clive Owen didn't show enough emotion, I didn't like him as Arthur. Guenivere should have played a bigger role in the story; she had a lot of close-ups, but she only served two purposes- wedding and an extra bow.

I doubt if you went back in time that you'd find a Roman accent sounded at all Italian. I sort of see where you're coming from though.

We can't be certain what they sounded like, but I think there is a greater chance that they sounded more Italian than British, but that's just me.

I recently saw this movie and I think it is a fantastic movie. What I liked most was the move away from the fairy-tale fantasy one, and you got to see a grim, more reality based Arthur that people could see actually living.

While most people think the story is the worst part of this movie, for me it was seeing Keira Knightley in the bikini top during the battle. The girl has no meat on her body. Because she is just skin and bone, you could see her nasty stomach poking out. Thankfully, the girl has put on some muscle mass for her more psychical role in POTC2, so hopefully we won't see her intestines showing through her skin if she decided to wear a Pirate bikini.

    Ciao!

Movie is OK, for a fantasy genre, not history. Most of the facts about Arthur are totaly wrong, starting for the very beginning of the film in wich is said Arthur lived a century earlier than it is statded in the history books. Another annoying thing ~ Arthur works for Romans. ?!? Since when? Knights of the round table are not from England?!? o_O
Though there a lot of mistakes, actors were pretty good, costumes were well nice and (those few) effects were decent.
All in all, film is good, but wrong history facts really are ruining the moment.
