    To DarthNiaedra

you didn't know what you were talking about and valyn, whos kinda new himself, was trying to educate you. you didn't have to get upset. i'm glad you realized your error and apologized. it takes a mature person to do that.

    to Agent_SkywalKer

congratulations! you have chosen the best class of jedi :D

    (sentinel r0xx0rs!!!! other classes suxx0rs!!!!)

anyway watchman and assassin are basically the same, just different alignments in the force. (the sneaking ability is a good tool)

Hey a couple of questions. I'm gonna start off as a female......what's better? Consular/Master....a guardian/WeaponMaster...or the sentinal/ i forgot? Do you get Force Enlightenment with all of them? or is it just the Consular? Is Force Enlightenment that great? Which path is the best to choose? I've never done a sentinal because I like the Guardians. Does something special happen when your a sentinal???

None of the character classes are "better" than the others necessarily. It all depends on how you play. A consular/master is going to have a tough time in the beginning, but once his or her Force abilities increase, they become really powerful. This combination is basically the "mage" class in fantasy-based RPGs: weak on physical defense and strength-based attacks, but extremely powerful with magic (or Force) to compensate. As a consequence, they gain a lot of Force powers (obviously) and fewer skills. If you tend towards mages in other games, then this combo is for you.

The Guardian/Weapon Master is on the other end of the spectrum. As the SW equivalent of the Warrior class, they have a lot of strength/viatality to work with, but they are lacking in Force ability. They're also the least "intelligent" of the three. They don't gain much Force powers, and they're average when it comes to skills. However, these characters are tanks.

Finally, there's my preferred class: The Sentinel/Watchman. This class's fantasy-RPG equivalent would be something like a Red Mage. They provide a nice balance between the two strengths of the previous two classes (magic/Force and physical) without mastering either. They gain a decent amount of Force ability, and they can be physically tough when played right, but their biggest advantage is in skills. The Sentinel/Watchman can learn pretty much all of them in the game.

    I hope that helps! :)

EDIT: As for your second question, yes, you can get Force Enlightenment with all three lightside classes (assuming you stay light enough to gain the prestige class at level 15). And yes, it is worth it. There's two catches though:
    1. You don't get it 'til near the end of the game.
    2. It activates Force Speed and any defensive Force techniques you learned through the course of the game all at a relatively low Force point cost... however, you have to actually choose to learn these techniques. If you don't have Force-speed/defenses, then the power won't automatically give them to you.

OK thanks goodfellow. That's alot of help and I'll do that. I like the Light side better so I'm just gonna do the lightside female. I've done dark and light with male but thought I'd test it out. Thanx again for all the help. Greatly appreciated. Later

Ashraak: ...and valyn, whos kinda new himself...

Please. I've been here since back when the EUC was still the EUM and Valyn's Hangar and Dozen was popular across several boards and sites.

You're the n00b out of the two of us, buddy. ;)

I have to agree, having just finished my third go around, that the Sentinel/Watchmen is my favorite. The skills even early on make the game a bit easier to get through. The aggravation of not having a needed skill, especially early in the game where you are alone, vanishes with the Sentinel. Also, by the games end you are still able to get the most powerful Force powers together along with having multiple skills over a rank of 25.
I like the extra movie scenes you get during your third play through. I have yet to go to the Darkside with KOTOR II. I might go Sentinel/Sith Lord. In my first play through I used Guardian/Master and didn't notice any real disadvantage to in taking a prestige class that is not meant to be a direct transition from the regular class.

No offense, but I don't understand why everyone is preening pride over their Force Crushing.

I could kill a roomful of 8 foes in one Force Scream, or one or two Force Storms.

That means any fight I fought in was over in TEN SECONDS.

The foes of the game don't get stronger as you do, as the first game did.

Did that not make fighting pointless? A repetitive droll of the same attacks each time, with the same victory outcomes every time?

Even when I didn't do that, my flurry/power swing attacks killed any enemy in two hits. The only challenge I had was hitting them on normal attacks. That took about three hits.

Look, it's one thing to preen and crow, but not against roomful of cannon fodder enemies who have no chance.

And you know what? All the Trayus Sith Lords and Dark Jedi didn't even use their night side on me, only their useless blades.

The Sith Lords was a joke. Don't believe otherwise.

Nihilus, Traya, Sion, Kreia; they all used their Force powers on me each time I played the game. As far as taking out hoards of cannon fodder with a couple of Force Storms why not do something brave and take on the entire end game on Malachor with just your lightsaber. If not, by that time, you should be able to take on great numbers by yourself.
My only qualms with the game are the bugs, the game would just freeze up every so often.

Um no, the enemy-system didn't change one bit compared to the first game. The enemies got stronger just like your character did and that's a fact.

As for wiping out a full room in a matter of seconds, duh, your one of the most powerful Jedi, of course you have no problems with that. As if that wasn't possible in KOTOR, where you could clean the Leviathan or the Sith Academy in no time, using only force wave...

The Sith Lords was no joke at all, it fighting system was basically identical with the one from the first game, but don't let facts get in your way.

It was good game. The fighting isn't all that bad but Maybe a little more real time would be great. I don't like waiting for people to strike me lol. Ummm Force crush was actually the best force power ever invented for the game. And if the bad guys seem weak against you then thats more realistic. Why would one of the most powerful jedi have trouble against a lowly sith assassin not even that trained in the force very well? Obsidian did a good job on that.

How do you get a KOTORII PC above level 27 (without using mods)? Have played it through 4 times but have never got above level 27 - seem to have done all the quests available.

there's a glith in the secret tomb in the caves on korriban. when in the tomb just after the mandalorians, there's a room where 2 hssiss appear when you search the dead jedi (continue east from mandalorians, then right at the intersection). keep searching the body and they keep appearing. You'll always get 450 xp until you get to level 30 or so, then it might go down to 375 or 350. if ds, use death field when there are 20 or more hssiss, the hack away and repeat til you get up to desired level or bored, whichever comes first. otherwise if ls just use stims and medpacks, since your fp's don't regenerate if you use heal, barrier, etc.

The foes of the game don't get stronger as you do, as the first game did.

All enemies are upgraded to correspond with the player character's level.

Also, in the Trayus Academy, I confronted a bunch of Sith Marauders and such who used Force powers against me.

And Force Crush is definitely more effective on single foes than lvl 3 Force Scream.

After you visit all the planets but before returning to Dantooine wich starts the End Game you will return to Telos Station where you have a conversation with Carth. Bastila has a cameo after you leave. I'm not sure if this tskes place with a darkside main character.

i have the strategy guide, which isn't great but its okay, and they forgot to mention the bronze crystal. i didn't think it existed until i actually got one. exactly the same as orange though so its pointless.

edit - as with what was said above, the silver crystal is just found randomly so theres really no specific place to get it. just like with most other crystal colors (excluding the salvager lady)

the silver crystal is not found randomly. I always go to dantooine first then nar shaddaa second and if you tell the rodian girl that dantooine is cleared out then she opens up trade with them and you can get it from her and her only. You can only get it once. THere is no Bronze crystal.

actually there is because I have one but it looks exactly like the orange. I either got it from Onderon Palace museum or I bought it from some vendor.
