Here's my hopes for a Star Wars CRPG. I don't know if it's possible if this could happen in KOTOR III, but I think it would be great.

I don't know how many of you have played Neverwinter Nights, but it's a fantasy CRPG that is based in the Forgotten Realms. It was developed by Bioware and came with an official campaign game as well as a toolset to create your own adventures. There is a huge online community and lot's of custom modules(adventures) that you can download from the internet.

Currently Obsidian is developing Neverwinter Nights 2. It sounds like NWN2 will have all the things that the original game had plus some new additions and an updated engine. So, my point is that both companies who developed the KOTOR games were also involved in the Neverwinter Nights games.

I'd like to see Lucas Arts have Obsidian develop a Star Wars CRPG (Perhaps KOTOR 3) using the NWN2 engine. This should include the same toolset that is included with the NWN2 game (when it's released). I'm confident that we could also have hooded jedi robes and such. The greatest part about such a game is that you would be able to download almost unlimited adventures from people who enjoy making them. I'm sure some people would even host persistent worlds as they did with Neverwinter Nights.

Of course this game should offer multiple races for player characters as well as professions. Basically it would be the d20 Star Wars RPG in computer format.

Some people think that Lucas Arts would be unwilling to grant a license for such a game. I disagree. Wizards is probably every bit as protective over their license as Lucas Arts is over theirs.

After seeing the success of both the KOTOR and NWN series, I don't hardly see how such a game could fail.

I just finished beating both KOTOR I and II (actually finished the second one before I wrapped up the first). I definitely want to see more of the characters from the first two games in this sequel! I think it's almost essential too. There could have been more closure to the ending of the first one and definitely an "end" to the second game so the third one should definitely follow Revan and the Exile along with their comrades.

I don't even think it would be that big of a deal if your character, Revan or the Exile, started out with high Force powers to begin with. It would just up the stakes on what you had to face, that's all. Whether then bring in a new character or not, the story of Revan and the Exile must continue in the 3rd game and not with some brief cameos but with a bunch of explanations and a great story worthy of a KOTOR sequel.

I think I'd prefer a new story each time. I'm sure I'm the minority, but I like to start out new and work my way up. But, sheesh, I'm getting sick of playing a character who has to discover/rediscover his/her force powers. Just let me start out as a Padawan who's spent his/her life in training up to this point. Maybe allow us to take our knight trials at some point in the game.

Joking_Around: Right on! Choosing what class you take your level in would be faaaabulous.

Legendary: NWN was great! is great! But... I honestly can't see that system being XBOX friendly. It works well on the PC (but I have the mac version- I've played the other on my dad's computer over the summers home from school- and not having the ability to left click is a kick in the pants, let me tell you...), but there would maybe be interface issues. I think they should release a NEW game- not KOTOR, but something similar... maybe post 4-5-6? I don't read the books or anything, so I don't know what happens outside of the games and the movies, but I think if they used a different name/story, they could get away with making it just available for the PC... otherwise, they'd have a lot of angry XBOX users up in arms. Like me. :)

Have you, by chance, played Jade Empire? I've been waiting since last summer for that game! It was supposed to come out at Christmas... (but then, KOTOR 2 was supposed to be out in February- I think that was a fair trade) Rumor had it, that was supposed to be a medley of KOTOR and NWN... That might be another possible style, I guess (I haven't played it yet, though! No money! So I don't know.)

Personally I don't really enjoy single player games. I live in a household where we all have our own computers and we game VERY often together. The only reason I even played KOTOR 1 & 2 is that I'm a diehard Star Wars fan. heh.

I agree not taking the KOTOR series away from the Xbox community. That would probably be a bad idea. It would be great if there was another game built on the NWN2 engine though with multiplayer support, toolset, and GM/DM client. I would be willing to bet that they could make such a game playable on the xbox and just include the toolset/DM client with the PC version only due to the system requirements.

Welcome to the thread everyone. :)

Darth Reven has read the entire thread, as have I. A lot of ideas have just come up that have been presented before (and a new one :) ).

JediPwnces: "I'd like more of an opportunity to expand relationships between your party..."

This has been mentioned before, friendly relationships should be able to extend to all party members. However their should only be one "love" relationship. And someone wanted it more similiar to the "cute" Bastila-Revan thing then the fight w/o clothes, let's look upon eachother stuff in KotOR2. I agree. My Thoughts: The love relationship should be an option for several different party members but only one at a time. It should be seperate from the influence system. Just because you're nice to them doesn't mean you "like" them.

"i think there should be completly new class like a totally possive class"

    What? explain.

"I don't even think it would be that big of a deal if your character, Revan or the Exile, started out with high Force powers to begin with. It would just up the stakes on what you had to face, that's all."

It's not that simple. The Exile ends KotOR2 at about level 30. Kreia can't level up to 45 because she runs out of Force powers to choose from. They can add new force powers but either way you limit choices (the greatest thing about KotOR). And if a jedi guardian Exile can level upto 60, it is unfair to the jedi consular that can't pass 50. You also have the problem of transfering data and most solutions would be tidious and complicated. I own KotOR 1&2 so I can play as Revan or the Exile any time. I don't need 2 games that have the same playable characters.

There has been unofficial discussion on a Star Wars RPG around the NJO in this thread.

As for the CRPG and NWN, I don't know. I'm unfamiliar with this. Sounds good. Explain more.

I would also like to here more about NWN. In Kotor 3, I realy want to play Revan. I cant explain it, but i want it. Around page 12 is a good story by Lord Zeron. It has a lot of good charaters and has Exile AND Revan as playible charaters.

Jade Empire has come out by the way. ( to jedipwncs)

    Explaining CRPG/NWN style game:

I'm not sure how much you would like explained... I'll assume there are people reading this thread with no knowledge of this.

CRPG = Computer Role Playing Game.
NWN = Neverwinter Nights (Dungeons and Dragons style CRPG)

Imagine a game very much like KOTOR in the fact that it's based on the d20 role playing game system. The game would come with an official campaign/storyline. This would be playable either single player or multiplayer with one person being the "main character".

A toolset and DM/GM client would come with the game also, just like with the Neverwinter Nights game. The toolset would allow you to create your own module. This would include a map editor to create your own original areas, a conversation editor to create your own conversations/quests players can participate in, and a script editor to create your own scripts that handle any custom content or actions in the game.

The DM/GM client is for hosting a multi-player game where you are the game master and can guide players through an adventure. You have the power to create or control pretty much anything in the game. This allows for a much more flexible adventure.

Neverwinter nights is already a very popular game. It's been around for several years now and there is a huge community online who share their custom modules (adventure) with others. If you don't have the knowledge to create your own custom scripts it's very easy to search the community for one that will suit your needs. Many people even spend their days writing custom scripts for those who can't.

Obsidian (the creators of KOTOR2) is currently working on Neverwinter Nights 2. This will basically have updated graphics and more powerful tools than the original NWN. This gives Obsidian and Lucas Arts the perfect opportunity to go a step further and create another Star Wars game. One with far more possibilities than the previous KOTOR games.

Someone mentioned that they wouldn't want KOTOR to be taken away from the Xbox players. I agree. I doubt the Xbox could handle everything that my proposed game would have. But, why couldn't they create a version for the Xbox (Xbox 360?) that would include the offical campaign as well as be client software that could play on the servers created by the PC version. I think it's totally possible.

I used to run my own server with a persistant world on it. When it was at it's peak in popularity I would average about 25 people who were playing on it at any given time. We made a lot of friends and had a good time. It's very easy in this type of game to meet people with similar interests and playing styles. I've played a few online games including Star Wars Galaxies and World of Warcraft. But, I still haven't had as good experience playing online as I did while playing NWN. Now, I'd just like to have a game like this based in the Star Wars universe. Now that I have more money and time than I did when I was running my NWN server. I would create a HUGE Star Wars server and host adventures. I just need Lucas Arts to supply me with the tools I need...

I've been praying for such a game since KotOR came out. When I first heard about KotOR, and heard it was being done by Bioware, I was estatic--NWN's been my favorite CRPG by far. KotOR ended up closely following it...but NWN gives you so much more with the toolset, nothing's surpassed it for me.

Same here. It seems like such an obvious choice for a money making game that we would all enjoy... I've been posting this for a long time. The game companies seem to have tunnel vision though. If I win the lottery today I'll go approach Lucas Arts on this subject. Haha!

"I'm just curious but if they offered alien species in character creation, what species would you like?"

This is a little late... But, I want Bothans in the game! Just please make them intelligent looking. SWG did a pretty good job on bothans. I think the look could be improved upon though.

1st and last post pg 22

    DarthReven's 1st post pg 23

and then I just realized you've read that page.

    sorry I wasn't much of a help.

It would be possible to make a black saber if you could use more than one color crystal. Which gives me the idea of being able to combine the crystal's. But you wouldn't be able to combine more than 2 crystals.

I'm knew so,sorry if I made anyone made.

There are things not everyone will like and that's why I appreciate KotOR (options!).

I wouldn't mind black. Especially if you couldn't see it in dark places. I know it doesn't make sense for light to disappear in the dark but it would be cool. To fight someone when they don't know where you're weightless blade is would be sweet.

I agree, we dont need ANY more colors. I would like the weapons, armor to have more diverce looks. They all hade a base thing that they would change color wise a bit . Have weaponsa and armors have only 2 or less bases that are the same.

In Kototr 1, you may remeber that twilek that could be turned to the lightside? Well, she once talked about the sith ari prophecy. In kotor 3, ( since it is almost universoly concluded) when you fight the true sith, their leader will probably be the sith'ari.

If you have any specific coments about the sith'ari post'em because i only remebr the prophecy vagely. ( that the sith'ari will be the lord of the sith or something with tremendous power. )

Make the ranged weapons more powerfull.
And please update the graphics engine. The graphics in KOTOR 2 seems worse than KOTOR 1. (maybe because I played Fable in between).

It WILL be with better graphics since it will be made on the nxt gen consoles.

Also, insted of making all armors not most force capabel( exceot for special ones) make it like: Light or no armor, medium or no armoe, heavy or morwe armor. I mean, i go pritty pissed when i would wear a light combatsuite and still not get most force powers. Or they ncould make it on the max dex of the armor. like: +1 dex or more, or +4 dex or more( for powers like crush and stuff like heal+0. have stuff like shock around +3-+2. )

I agree, that was really annoying if you wanted to be a melee character but also wanted cool Force powers you were stuck without decent armor. I should be able to wear my +12 defense armour and still use Force Wave.

It may have been annoying and I agree that there should be feats for cancelling the armour restriction on force powers, but KotOR2 was already extremely easy. The last thing they should do is make it easier.
