KOTOR Campaign Guide: Some new info

Due to their modular and patchwork nature, the Mandalorians don't have proper classes, only general types. Same with the Mon Calamari and their Liberty type and Home One type cruisers.

 

I think this is more updating POTSB/DSSB than TOTJC

 

Those are actually some pretty nice ship names....though I still think "Hammerhead-class cruiser" is just being lazy.

 

Hmmm... interesting, very interesting.

If we consider that we have the following:

Revan training Sith assassins at Malachor.

Sion training Sith assassins.

Lucien belonging to a noble household.

Tapani being ruled by noble households.

Tapani being home to the Mecrosa Order of Sith assassins.

Rather curious number of potential connections in that lot. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if somewhere in the story Tapani and/or the Mecrosa play into either Revan and/or Sion and/or Lucien's part in the story. You might be onto something.

I'm half inclined to speculate the possibility of High Lady Kreia Brezwalt.

If the Draays were a Tapani family, she might also be Lady Krynda Draay's half-sister. If Lucien ends up on the run for murder after Vindication, it may be possible he heads for refuge with his relatives. The Tapani Sector is somewhat "independent" isn't it? Could they offer him sanctuary?

If Lady Brezwalt and Lady Draay were related I guess the question becomes are they from another family or would Krynda Brezwalt have been her maiden name? Krynda and Kreia Brezwalt... oh, I can dream of the possibilities.

Lucien Draay, Mecrosa assassin, later Darth Sion...

 

High Lady Brezwalt is supposedly a new character.

 

Will she appear in comics, or is she just NPC for the game?

 

Bought the books two days ago, but I lent it to a friend. Yeah, stupid, I know.

Thing I remeber though is that Brianna's bio says that she went with the Exile to Malachor V. So I guess the male/female game paths and NCP's aren't to be trusted Also remember that some part said that Mical and the Council rebuilt the order, so he's still in there and significant.

Damn. I gotta get this book back Then I can spill all the beans.

 

Oh, isn't this just going to have a wonderful effect on the gender arguments...

That being said, it brings up the interesting possibility of them trying to make it so that both routes happened, which will do who-knows-what...

 

Woho! Got my book back. But I've got to go to bed soon. Just some nice factoids that I saw flipping through the pages.

Atton's bio says that he was rivaling with Mical for the attention of the Exile. Seems that both Mical and Brianna were companions of her.

Visas' bio says she's pivotal to restoring the Jedi Order.

Atris' bio says that she becomes a captive in her sanctum till she can be "judged by Mical and a new Jedi Council."

Jarael's bio confirms her force sensitivity.

Ulic's bio says that Duron Qel-Droma took part in the Cleansing of the Nine Houses.

The Centurion-class battlecruiser is the class of the Ravager.

Bendak Starkiller's got a new name: Gorse Bendak, Starkiller is his stage name.

Demagol's and Rohlan's bios do not hint at anything regarding their switcheroo.

Cassus Fett's entry says that there's no established connection between him and the other Fetts.

For someone who likes the KOTOR story but has no real interest in the gaming aspect of this, would those who already have this book recommend it to me? Or is it more geared to those who do the gaming?

 

So Starkiller is neither Bendak's nor the secret apprentice's real name.

Really? Didn't see that coming. I haven't been following KOTOR lately. I just barely got the 3rd volume.

 

Seems that way. At least there's one Starkiller that's likely to fly under the radar and keep his name.

 

There have been hints of the possibility of her having potential for quite a while. Like at Flashpoint, Zayne was able to talk to her telepathically, so that was probably a hint at her having Force sensitivity. I can't remember if non-Force sensitives can hear a Jedi's voice, but I know Force-sensitives can sometimes talk to each other telepathically (Luke and Leia in the movies being the most famous example).

 

What's up with the Derriphan-class battleship? Is it one of the capital ships from the old TOTJ comics? If so, which one? A guy hinted it was Exar Kun's flagship, but also made for Revan and Malak. I guess it's not the same as Naga Sadow's Corsair? Some enlightenment, please.

All sourcebooks have lots of information. Bets example is the 2000 Edition Dark Side Sourcebook, which holds great descriptions of DS powers and various items which I think should be of interest not only to the gamers, but SW/EU fans in general.

Though I'd like to see Jarael as the Exile... the Exile says she grew up on Dantooine.

Of course, considering that it's now impossible to have a "canon playthrough" of KotOR 2... maybe all bets are off?

 

Also the fact that the Exile is...human? Looks like a human and is referred to one several times.

Man oh man...I poke my head into a KOTOR discussion and this happens.

Like I said, it's already impossible to have a canon playthrough of the game. Making it "more impossible" isn't going to change anything. But, yes, given what we know from the game itself, Jarael would be ruled out.

Canonically, both Brianna and Mical accompany the Exile, which is impossible in the game itself.

i can deal with that.

That doesn't shatter anything...it's a game mechanic vs. story thing...I can accept that.
