Jedi armor is worthless [face_silly] I never use it..

But yes, on hard difficulty, being light is a pain, but I usualy stick with master force speed and just hack away.
[/blockquote]The "Star Forge robes" that you can have produced near game's end ain't too bad, though.

EDIT: The same goes for Duron Qel-Droma's Jedi armor, too.

Yeah... those two robes were the best LightSide ones in the game I think. Juhani is the only one in my party (my other party-member is HK) that wears jedi robes. My character has Calo Nord's armor... It's interesting how one of the best armors in the game is available not that far ahead from the begining... :p

My opinion: if you can get the best stuff early on, good. Save money in the long run.

Has anyone come up with the ideal set for each character? Set as in best weapon, armor, glove, headgear, belt, and crystal combo. That includes anything you can purchase from the Yavin station. I bought that Baragwin light armor for mission and upgraded it on my first visit there.

I would really have to go back and take a hard look at each person's unique equipment configuration, but here's a slight breakdown off the top of my head:

    • "The Main Character" (a.k.a., "Vasius Corayson," using the game's name-generator): Calo Nord's armor, later replaced by Darth Revan's robes. Two lightsabers, blue and purple; don't recall the exact crystal configs for each one, but the "Solari crystal" that you obtain in the Rakatan temple was modded into one of them.

    • Canderous Ordo: Mandalorian Assault Armor (Dantooine being destroyed before I could go back for Cassus Fett's armor); his fully-modified Heavy Repeating Blaster. A veritable walking Abrams tank, by game's end.

    • Juhani: Duron Qel-Droma's Jedi armor, later replaced by the Star Forge robes. Double-bladed lightsaber (yellow blade), with some advanced crystals, but can't recall which.

    • Carth Onasi: Durasteel Heavy Armor; the "Master Two-Handed Weapon" concentration; the "Focus: Blaster Pistol" and "Focus: Blaster Rifle" feats, and mastery of each one. Some type of upgraded Zabrak blaster pistol, along with a Mandalorian Heavy Pistol (modded out). Switched over to Ion Rifles when the sitch demanded it, against droids and the like.

    • Jolee Bindo: Green-bladed lightsaber, crystal additions, Star Forge robes.

    • Bastila: Bra-and-panti...er...I mean, Jedi Master robes and a double-bladed purple 'saber, prior to her turning.

    • Droids: Heavy droid battle-plating on each, and a Mandalorian Blaster Rifle for HK-47. Plus Advanced Targeting Computers, etc.
That only scratches the surface, and I'm leaving a few characters out (Mission, Zaalbar, etc.), but you get the general idea. Also, factor into somewhere into this list "Conditioning" concentrations, "Toughness" development, and things like "Dominate Mind" for the Jedi.

I would have to go over the exact lightsaber crystal configs for each Jedi in order to give you a precise analysis, but I do remember that the Krayt Dragon Pearl is quite the boffo add-in (before you turn it over to the Tusken chieftain), and there are some others that work splendidly for blaster-fire deflection and increased droid damage, among other things.

I've completed Dantooine and have my pick of planets to go next, after spending an inordinate amount of time working out how to select a world ()apparently you have to clock those tiny dots on themap screen)

I've got two questions: which planet is best to go next?

And what exactly do the differently saber colour blades do? The brief description tells you nothing. And should you smash the spider eggs to get more crystals?

If you're a lightsider I'm guessing you shouldn't smash the eggs. I was and didn't so I don't know if you get DS points for it or not.

The color crystals are merely there for people who like a certain color to be able to use it on their lightsaber. As far as I know the color crystals are just for that.

I smashed all the eggs, and only got Dark Side points for the first one I smashed. I ended up with 11 red, some blue, one green, bondar and rubati crystals. As for Excellence's first question, where you go depends on what you want. If you want more powerful lightsaber crystals, then goto Korriban, get into the Academy, goto the Valley of the Dark Lords and loot the tombs for some uber powerful crystals like the Solari crystal. But don't complete the Star Map quest for Korriban, just yet. The final fight will be hard for you unless you are level 16+, because you'll be facing TWO Sith Masters SOLO, with no party members there to help you.

After you get enough credits (I suggest do the spice run and box delievery quests for 4000 easy credits) goto Tatooine and purchase your very own Hunter-Killer droid, HK-47 :D. He's really cool, and the best range support if you let Canderous to be a melee fighter.

The color crystals only change the color of your lightsaber blade. Nothing special like the Heart of the Guardian, or the Mantle of the Force.

I don't recall getting any Dark Side points when smashing the eggs. Hmm, interesting.

Yes, I also didn't get dark side points for smashing the kinrath spider eggs.

I also found a way to combat the Dantooine Mandalorian boss Sheruk. Let your teammates fight the other mercs, even if it means the boss kills them. But if you run away as Ordo with his beefed up blaster, the boss won't persue you far. You can them target him from a distance until he gets to near, and you run away, and repeat the process!

Thanks for the other info! What a game!

I was able to pick up the game again after weeks without touching it and I finally finished it. :) Now I can say with absolute certainty that it's one of my all-time favourite games. I can hardly wait for the sequel (assuming there will be one).

I read on the IGN site around October I think that there was going to be a sequel. I hope that's true. :)

Finally finished it. I have to agree that the ending should have included a private party amongst the heroes. Maybe even a private scene with you and your romance partner.

KOTOR on pc does require a hefty system requirements. I had to disable movies because I didn't have the proper video card, and when it was actually running it was very laggy.

Eh? I wasn't aware Bastilia appears in one of the ending movies. I finished the game several times and I never saw such movie. Was it Dark Side or Light Side ending you are talking about? Or are you talking about the ending cut scene, which uses in-game models, while movies uses CG models.

If you manage to obtain a "Light Side" ending, she'll likely be present, unless she dies for some reason other than because of you; the one I received was on the Rakatan homeworld, at the temple, with the surviving Jedi Masters (the two that were left [face_devil]) and many of the Republic fleet admirals in attendance. Bastila and I apparently were now officially an "item," and there was an awards ceremony very reminiscent of the ending of ANH.

Can't wait to get into the "Dark Side" run of things, in a bit.

If Bastila has this bond with you, and throughout the game you can make suggestive comments to her, what happens when your main character is selected as female? :p

This is not accurate. THe CPU always will 'assess' enemy levels based on where you are at. If you do Korriban first, for example,w her eyou are probably around level 10 or so, they will be toned down to face you, whereas if you wait till the final world to do Korriban, they will be very, very higher in power.

    But still beatable.
