How do you get into the Tomb of Ajunta Pall on Korriban? I can't seem to unlock the door with anyone in my party. Is my security skill just not good enough?

    Thanks, Gloria.
I knew about the betrayal from the strategy guide. When I go through as dark side, I'll definitely try that. I heard it was a pretty wicked way to go ;-D.

Yea it works great with the real high priced stuff like the CNS stregnth enhancer, this way everyone in the party becomes a great fighter even Jolee! Besides that you can also copy all extra stuff like the plates in the armour and crystals. Let me tell you how great it was for everyone in the party to have the dragon pearls and the Jenrux crystal.... hard hitting lightsaber action!!! Just make sure that when you go down to the station that you bring eveything you want to copy. IE. Canderous for armour and wepons & 1 Jedi so you can copy all the crystals and robes....

Mantle of the Force Crystal?...I guess thats another item Ive missed every time...Where can you get that and how good is it?

As Gloria wrote, Suvam Tan on Yavin sells it and another uber lightsaber crystal - Heart of the Guardian - after you finish the last Star Map. Yavin comes with the PC version, but I think you have to download it for Xbox. Mantle of the Force costs 25,000 creds, and Heart of the Guardian comes in slightly less at 20,000. [face_plain]

Steep prices aside, I've found both crystals highly useful. GameBanshee does a pretty darn good job with all the stats on the different lightsaber crystals and combinations. Mantle of the Force and Heart of the Guardian both go in the hilt slot, where your color crystal usually is, enhancing the properties of the two power crystals as well as turning your lightsaber a funky color. Mantle of the Force should also give Force regen when used with Damind or Rubat, but that might be bugged. My advice? Get that 20% Pazaak discount before buying anything at Yavin! You have to beat Suvam ten times more than you lose, which can be a real pain if you're not too fond of Pazaak, but the discount is well worth it.

Question: If you end up leaving the Temple on Korriban without wrapping up the Dustil Onasi sidequest, is there any way to still complete it?

Ouch. I did that my first game. Since I was determined to make it through the game at least once without any outside help, I was a tad surprised that I couldn't talk my way out of the Academy. My two party members and I were separated, so I had a heated little running fight on my hands. I was going to check on Dustil, but got spun around while fighting and ended up running straight out the front doors, only realizing my mistake when I had to kill that entrance guard.

At any rate, turns out once the Academy is hostile towards you, even if you find Dustil, he'll attack you like the rest of the Sith students, and there'll be no reasoning with him. You'll have to kill him, but Carth gets hung up on the kid like he's not dead... even if Carth is in your party and helped kill him. <shrug>

I knew about the betrayal from the strategy guide. When I go through as dark side, I'll definitely try that. I heard it was a pretty wicked way to go ;-D.

One... well, technically two of my favorite things to do on Korriban. You don't even have to be DS to do it. Depending on how you play it, you can gain LS points.

    Gloria
Yeah, yeah. I just go on and on and on... :p

I am playing the PC version, but from the Xbox item guides I've read, what you find on Calo Nord shouldn't be different. Who knows though? I remember finding those pistols before, but can't get it to work for me this time around.

I know it says no cheats but I dont deem this a cheat more like a glich. If you need $$$ for shopping in KOTOR just goto Mannan and go to the underwater base. [snip]

You know, I tried that my second game, but couldn't get it to work. I've read more about it since then, and there's a bit of saving I missed... I think I'll give it another shot, as I'm pretty desparate for cash.

How do you get into the Tomb of Ajunta Pall on Korriban? I can't seem to unlock the door with anyone in my party.

I don't remember any of the tombs being locked except Naga Sadow's. Have you tried just entering it? Not using Security or anything? My first game I made that mistake with the Upper City cantina on Taris. I kept getting "Impossible" when I tried to use Security. After spending some time all angry and frustrated, I left-clicked on the door and found it wasn't locked at all. [face_blush]

edit: added everything after the lightsaber crystals section

edit: the Korriban double cross and double-double cross

If stuck on the Sith Govener on Taris. How do you kill him, I have Bastilla and Carth in my party.

IIRC, the Taris Sith governor throws up an energy shield as soon as you engage him, so you might want to consider having Carth toss in an ion grenade or otherwise take down that pesky shield within the first few rounds so Bastila can do more damage with her lightsaber and Carth can blast away to maximum effect. The Sith governor can probably save against Bastila's Stun, leaving only Force Push. Luckily, Force Push should not only shove the Sith governor away and give you some breathing room, but inflict a bit of damage even if he saves against the stunning effects. Putting some distance between you and the Sith also gives Carth more time to snipe while the Sith closes to melee range.

Besides these points, consider all general combat strategies.

Since the Sith governor is armed with a double vibroblade of some sort, energy shields would be pretty much useless (not to mention the added frustration of Carth taking down the shields of your melee fighters when trying to disable the Sith governor's). Melee shields, on the other hand, would be great, and by this point in the game, you should've picked up Brejik's Armband and Belt.

Don't be afraid to use stims. The Sith governor has strength gauntlets - using strength stims on your melee fighters just evens the field. Carth's ranged support would benefit from any DEX-boosting stims or equipment.

Use whatever methods you can to shore up the weak saves of your PC, Carth, and Bastila. The Sith governor will use Force powers, so you might want to pay special attention to the will save. Carth, in particular, has a weak will save - definitely increase this if you want to keep him in action.

Medpacs are your friends. Even though Bastila has Cure, the precious Force points it costs would be better spent hurting the enemy. Monitor the vitality of your party, and use medpacs where needed. To not waste any turns, just click to Inventory with the party member you want to use the medpac on and select "Use Item" (or such). This method also works with stims.

Pause often and take stock of what your party is doing. It's quite helpful to develop some sort of strategy and coordination between your party members. Also keep in mind the rather hefty penalties that come with the first- or possibly second-tier special attacks your party can use. Yes, Bastila can use Flurry, but without higher levels of it (and Two-Weapon Fighting), she's more likely to miss than hit and still end up taking cuts to her defense she might not be able to afford.

And, if the rest of your party is down, with the Sith governor nearly dead and you short on VP yourself, there's the tried and true method of disengaging from combat mode and running away in circles. The AI will chase you, but not cut you off, and you can use the time to heal up and use more stims, then attack when you're good and ready. Of course, the Sith governor might spring Drain Life on you, but if you've reached this stage, anything's worth a shot. In my first game, with two party members down, T3 fried the guy. Really, you just never know. :p

<huffpuff> Too long-winded by far, I know. Hope this helps.

Actually, you have to beat the Yavin Station Rodian 7 times, not 10, to get the discount.

He's challenging but not insurmountable, with a tendency to score a perfect 20 frequently. Suffice to say, you save after each win.

There's only one way to triumph: attrition. Outlast him by not using your 4 extra cards if at all possible. Let him use his up. You'll find that lst second help very handy.

    ---------------------------------

You can beat the Taris Govenor in half a minute or less, at Level 2, if you're canny.

Remember, just because you enter the base doesn't mean you can't leave at any time. Get rid of T3, you want Bastila and Zaalbar's automatic extra hit strength.

Leave and return to hideout to heal health at any time. It may take time to traverse the base to the exit, but so what?

Keep you're Level 2 player back, s/he dies in one blow from a boss. Get Bastila to freeze him, and have Big Z power swinging for all he's worth. Then move your player in for whatever worthless blows you can get in.

And guess what? Ever notice that Bastila seems to fight far better when you're not controlling her? That her defence and hit landing is more accurate? Let her engage the Gov her way.

Wow. I just went through the dark side ending. It felt so nice to just shut Mission and Zalzabar up! The three best KOTOR people take the Star Forge. Pretty cool!

I thought it was funny how Carth just runs away. He doesn't even fight.

You can't. Fight Malak 'til he's drained the first one. Then, you can use some force powers against them, like force storm, force kill, force breach, force wave, throw lightsaber and suchness...you're damaging powers. Now...if you don't have any, settle in for the fight, as Malak will recharge everytime you get him low on health.

Bastilla doesn't help you out there no matter which side you choose. That's your own personal battle.

Run around and use your "destroy droid" power to destroy the containers.

Yeade - I am playing the PC version, but from the Xbox item guides I've read, what you find on Calo Nord shouldn't be different.

Drat. [face_plain] I have seriously never seen the pistols though.. [face_worried] Though who knows, I'm playing a new DS game(simply to take HK with me everywhere I go to see what he's really like.. ;) ). I just purchased HK now.

    [Sith governor bit]

    [face_hypnotized] Wowsers. That's a lot. :p But very good! =D= :p

Too long-winded by far, I know. Hope this helps.

    But long-windedness is fun? [face_dancing]

All that without one edit.. [face_thinking] =D= :p

Excellence - ctually, you have to beat the Yavin Station Rodian 7 times, not 10, to get the discount.

    [face_hypnotized]

Holy crap, that's a lot. I win maybe one out of every four matches? [face_tired] Maybe it's a good thing I don't have the PC version. :p

Angelic_308 - If you play as a girl...and you get Carth to want to protect you..And you turn to the dark side...He'll do something else.

I hate plaing a DS female, FOR THAT REASON! I hate killing Carth! It goes against everything I am! :_| :p And you don't even have a choice!

Mrlameo23 - ok im at the last stand with lord malak how do i free the dead jedi in the stasis cahmbers and i dont have bastilla to help me cASUE i screwed up

Umm.. How did you "screw up", exactly?

there isn't really a "supposed to" in this game, now, is there? It's just that such decisions have different advantaged/ disadvantages
if you weren't supposed to, it wouldn't be possible.

I thought the Sith Govenor was easy.

Hey, what happens to that dude that's with Malak on the Star Forge? You don't get to fight him, and you end up facing Malak alone.

Oh, and I finally found Darth Revan's robes. If you have enough computer spikes you can get it on the Star Forge after you defeat Level 3.
