A good tactic I'm assuming would be to utilize your force immunity before battle. This way his lightning would have no effect on you.

The electrical capacitance shield is far better for this: 100% protection against electrical damage. 3000 credits, but worth every one.

Never thought of that. Wow, that's an idea.

I beat Malak last night on my first try! I couldn't get to all of the trapped Jedi, but I think I freed two of them before Malak could drain them, but he still took a ton of stims and life support packs. Now I'm kinda bummed that I have to start all over and go to the dark side this time.

My guy was totally immersed in the light, and was a stud consular. Hopefully the dark side will be just as fun.

You don't actually free them except in the B-movie evil guy "Okay, I'll free you" sort of way.

How could you not see the room was regenerating destroyed droids?

Ummm. Because I was busy slashing droids. :p Or more importantly I am a dumb ^%&

Seriously. I forgot I could cancel combat. I tried to use the computer but I stayed locked onto a droid so I honestly thought I just had to keep swinging until they ran out. I wasn't dying. They were blowing up real easy so it wasn't like I had to keep reloading. I knew they were regenerating but I thought it may have a limit. There is a mission in Xwing Vrs Tie Fighter where you get attacked by wave after wave of different kinds of tie Fighters. They keep coming for a long time and you have to kill something like 40 of each tie Type but they do eventually run out. I just thought it would be like that.

    besides it was fun. :p

Thanks for your help. I have a save file I can go back to before my last level up so I am going do that and make sure I pick Saber throw. I'll be just a few hours back and not all the way to the beginning.

And yea I said "free" them but I understand that they are already dead so Free is not exactly the correct word. [face_blush] sorry 'bout that. :)

Ok I have another question in general for when I start over for a second run through.

Does the Dueling feat affect Blaster Rifles? We have feats for duel weapons and a feat for single "one handed" weapons. A Blaster rife is a single weapon but isn't a one handed weapon. So do you still get the attack bonuses the Dueling feat offers?

IIRC, the dueling feat is more of a melee attack bonus.

    I could be wrong though.

Either way, it doesn't affect blaster rifles. For that, you want the dual weapon feat. If you read the description for it carefully, it mentions that it gives attack bonuses for having a weapon in both hands and having a two handed weapon. Since a blaster rifle is two-handed, this is the way to go.

I feel kind of lowly because everyones talking about the last battle with Malak, and I'm only on Tatooine. I'm trying to win the swoop races so I can get enough credits to buy HK, and im not doing so well. Its not that the course is hard, more that my swoop is slow. I heard that you can upgrade your swoop, and I was wondering where (I tried the Czerka office) or if I can. Any help would be appreciated

The swoop bike upgrading thing was something Bioware left unfinished. There's no way to do it on the X-Box version, and I'm fairly certain you can't do it on the PC version either. It would have been nice, but ah well.

Go back a few pages, I posted in here somewhere about an easy way to get through the races.

Don't forget to not just swoop over the acceleration pads you see across the swoopway, but click the mouse again to acelerate another gear faster each time the speedmeter flashes. You zoom lightspeed fast after a few times. Watch out for the roadblocks, though.

Doright, yeah, that's just for blade weapons. You have single handed or double handed 3rd-2nd-3rd upgrades. Weilding a two handed weapon or two weapons leaves you at slight disadv.

also, remember that at first as you're still building speed it's ok to shift across the track, but when you've hit your 4th gear, you mainly want to be running in a straight line... this will save you seconds...

I couldn't get the 3rd Tier on either Maann or Tatooine. the 2nd one was the best I could do on each.

I'm very close on the third tier in Tatooine and will proabbly get it sooner or later.

    Maanan is my *****.

Although I generally fail miserably the first time on Taris just to make it easy on myself :p

I beat all three swoop races on Manaan. It's easier than Tatooine, has less obstacles and swerving, I think. You can get big money swooping, so make sure you do both worlds. I haven't tried Tatooine's before; too hard for me.

Replaying again, I know what to expect and will do all the sidequests and swoop races.

Hi folks! I've had the KOTOR game for the XBOX for about 2 months now and I am hooked like mad! Never thought I'd ever enjoy any "modern" videogame (I'm an early 80s arcade kid... well, not a kid anymore...).

I presently have 2 games going on in KOTOR : A "clone" of my original game was saved at some point, so I descided that one game I'd play the good character, while the other, obviously, evil.

Both games have taken on different paths. Visiting different worlds in different order creates numerous variations in terms of missions and adventures happening.

THE UNKNOWN WORLD : I fin it extremelly difficult to find any valuable data about the Unknown World. No hints or cheats could be found on the internet. I fear I may have to fight a few Rancors soon, and I want to know what's the best way to defeat Rancors. I remember in the Taris sewers, my 3 characters wouldn't last a total of 7 seconds against one Rancor (until of course the old grenade in a bag trick).

So if anyone has any suggestions about Rancor disposal using either a double-bladed lightsaber or single-bladed lightsabers, please respond!

Also, any truth in the rumours of a second KOTOR ?

    Cheers,

    Darth Butter

PS: Anyone know how to take screencap / images off the Xbox console from the game to be posted on the net?

The rancors on the Unknown world aren't huge ones like the one on Taris. They're on par with those terantatek things that are found on Korriban and Kashyyyk... difficult, but not too hard.

I'd advise using throw lightsaber or Force-lightning to do a bit of damage from afar and follow it up with stasis field to freeze them. They should go down pretty easily... except when there's a bunch of them like in the rakatan camp... :p

Force Wave, and you don't have to go near them. Ordo's repeater blaster drinks down good too.

Has any beaten all the swoop races?

Yes I did, my best time so far was 21.09... which was on Manaan (an easier track than Tatooine).

Yes, Manaan is easier. Tatooine's is littered with more roadblocks and demands more swerving to avoid. Not easy.

BTW the story is that Hukta Jax runs a time of 22.50 and doesn't even avoid the obstacles, he just goes in a straight line to the finish. I've tried this, but its impossible, at least it seems so... did anybody else try this?

Is there a Hutt on Dantooine? If so how do you find it?

there is no hutt on dantooine. There are only three hutts in this game, namely Ajuur the Hutt, Zax the Hutt, and Motta the Hutt. No Hutts on Dantooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, Korriban or the Unknown World.

I thought somone mentions a Hutt on Dantooine. (I cannot remember who) I've beat the game five times and wasn't sure if it was some super deep unlockable storyline that I just hadn't sequenced right.
