Very easy: Zaalbar gets extra strength using a blade, he kills rakghouls in one blow. They have good mobility, so never use melee weapons, only blasters against rakgouls, and target every gun wielder on one ghoul at a time.

another problem may be that you don't have enough "to hit" or attack rating. Don't dul wield weapons at least until you have adv 2-weapon fighting. Us a weapon that best suits you char such as a melee weapon for a soldier and a blaster for a scoundrel.

You definantly need to review the numbers. its pretty simple, if you use two wepons, add the # from the right side to the left side. then find the wepon combo that has the biggest #.
if you olny use one wepon put it in you right hand and find the biggest # there.

I recently bought the PC of this great game and I am now on Dantooine. There I have done everything as far as possible till Juhani (i killed the mandalorians etc). I want to play it on the light side but Juhani doesnt want to be convinced, whatever I say to her. I know from a Faq what you need to say, but I keep trying and all she says is that I am lying.

    What to do?

Hey guys, I've read this thread for some great hints, but now I need whatever advice you can give me.

I'm on Tattooine. I need more money to buy HK-47. So I decided to try swoop racing because one walkthrough said you could get 6,000 credits if you completed all three tiers.

Well, the official Prima strategy guide says the time to beat for the first tier is around 27 seconds. But when I talked to the Hutt about racing, the time to beat was 23.90! I've found it almost impossible so far. Is this a glitch?

Also, are there any other ways to get more money or other ways to get HK?

Hmmm...I've always seen it as 23.90. I gave up on swoop racing, I totally suck at it.

Pazaak is good. There's a guy in the cantina that plays for a lot of money. He'll up the stakes after each game. I always save my game right before I play so I can reload if I lose. :p

Sell stuff! You have so much inventory that you don't need. Go to the Czerka office and dump some of the items you don't need. You don't need 10 blaster rifles or much of the armor you pick up.

The best way to get money is to beat Suvam on the Yavin IV base in Pazaak, 10 times more than you beat him. Then all his items are reduced 20% in price, and more importantly he gives you MUCH more money for stuff. Do this and you will have enough money to buy everything you could ever want. To get HK while doing Tatooine as the first planet, I had to do all three tiers of swoop racing, but I had bought a bunch of nice stuff already. If you do manage to win at racing, make sure you sell your race bonds to Suvam as well; he pays much more for them as well.

Lorax is right: the Yavin Station plays the highest pazaak. Win all 7 times, the buzz squawker will discount his shop.

Ah I love this game, I am now on Tatooine, wandering the desert, enjoying the view...till those darn Tuskens are coming up..yes even the first ambush with the holy warrior and the elite ones are killing my group easily. Does anybody of you are having tips for me?

I am really bad in these kind of games I notice.

And Katya_Jade, what would you consider as the only good useable items/weapons? That way I can sell the rest away and get me the Cassus Fett armor wich sounds good to use. I only havent decided if i will put it on my jedi or Canderous.

Exar, it depends on who you have in your party. I always travel with one Jedi with Force Heal and then one soldier or HK. If you have stasis, use that first, have your other Jedi use any other power they have, set your soldier (or HK) to start blasting and you should be able to get through the Tuskens. They're tricky, but they are beatable.

edit - and I sort of misread your question. I always took the higher armor for my guys. If you've got them outfitted, sell the Light Armor and the other armor since you're not going to use them. You probably have tons of blaster rifles/pistols you don't need as well as some short swords, etc. I sold a mine or two as well.

The Heavy Exoskeleton, $16K after discount, on Yavin is the best armor in the game, and allows you to put a feat elsewhere than in heavy armor. At high levels, Mission is a better ranged attacker than either Carth or HK, because of her sneak attack. At low levels, Carth is the best (if you were smart and followed his stats rather than class and made him into a ranged attacker). I, for one, used Bastila and Juhani after trying HK and finding him inferior. And Jolee is better than Bastila if you have him. BTW, if you have money to burn after the last starmap and plan to go DS, I recommend picking up a second Heavy Exoskeleton on Yavin.

Heavy armor usually isn't good for someone who is range attacker or using a lightsaber with a high dex since it limits your dex modifier to very low numbers.

Katya_Jade, At the moment of saving I am having my own Jedi character, Bastila and Canderous in my party. Yesterday I tried your tips and it almost worked, I killed 2 of the tuskens but the last tusken axed Canderous, who was the last 1 standing.

Armour depends on what type of Jedi you are.

    Guardian: melee fighter
    Consular: Force fighter
    Sentinel: balance of both

Guardians should be wearing the highest armour: Kang's, then Nord's. You'll need the extra protection over mobility.

Consulars shouldn't be wearing any armour; you can't use Force lightning and other goodies. If you kept the Sith armour from Taris you can still were it fine. The best defense is focusing on mobility. Wear accessories and apparel that boosts your dexerity. As the game booklet says, superb dex is often the equivalent of high armour.

You will, of course, be wearing the electrical belt on Kashyyyk, for full protection against Force lightning, right. ;)

Haven't played as sentinel yet, but armour stuffs up a lot of Force powers . . . [face_mischief]

Even as a Guardian, I never wore armor as a Jedi. I just stuck with the robes. I can't recall running into any situations where that extra defense meant the difference between life and death. I stuck heaviest armor on Canderous. For some reason, I like to use him as a melee fighter. Most prefer to give him a blaster, though.

I'm going through the game again, and I'm going to make a record of the optimum configurations for the characters should have right before leaving the respective planets. I will say this. I recalled giving Carth Calo Nord's armor, but then I gave him that dark medium armor I can get at the Yavin station. It was even better than Calo's. As for mister BFG wielding Canderous, Cassus Fett's armor all the way.

About HK-47, you can haggle the hell out of the droid dealer, byt he will only go down to 2500 creds, and then you can't get anything else from him...also, the best place to take racing bonds is to the guy in the space stattion over yavin, he gives you like 150 a piece and if you beat all three teirs on dantooine, you get over 200 bonds. That would be the best way to make money.

There is nothing that can stop three Jedi in a melee fight. You need one char with high wisdom and Stasis(which is better for great beasts like ...) and Force Whirlwind, which is better for a group of normal enemies. Also, if you have a guardian (either PC or/and Juhani) and you are fighting ppl with ranged weapons, exploit Force Jump which really works fine.

For the Holy Warriors, they are really tough to beat, especially in the beginning of the game. Try Stasis, and use Adrenal St,Dex and Con to beat them. I never had huge problems with them, though.

    LL :)

Edit: I never put any huge armor on the guardians, my PC had defense 32 with Dex and duel feat, and Juhani had 27, also Dex and duel. I always went with at least two Jedi, though. But a well-feated PC is strong as 2 or 3 Jedi (he is da man or da woman, you know).

23.90. Nope, it's not a glitch, but it's not impossible either.

What it really depends on his how much of a completist you are. I'm anal about side plots, so I managed to spend half a Saturday figuring out how to win the races.

    Here's some tips:

    * To slow the race down to a managable level, keep pressing start to pause it. This allows you to scope out the track better a little easier and helps your brain cope with the speed.

    * Every chance you get to press that A button to shift up a gear, do it and do it quickly. (The pause/un-pause trick helps with this a lot.)

    * Save the game before attempting any race and after winning. This involves listening to a lot of Hutt-speak, but credit-wise, it's worth it.

    * Sell ALL you racing bonds from the first two races before going on the last big one. You get something like 20 for the first, 40 for the second, and 60 for the third. You can only carry 99 of any given thing. Don't short yourself.

    * The acellerator pads are critical to the race. Even, more critical though are knowing which ones to hit. Study the track *carefully* Sometime hitting one pad will make it impossible to hit two more.

    Hope it helps.

    Sadly, no.

EDIT: She turns on you in the unknown planet no matter what you do in the dark side.
