YES! I finally beaten those Elite Tuskens and after my first 3 I progressed to a next level. I do have a few questions tough (again, yes i know ;)):

    1. What is the shop that is the cheapest? And wich shop gives you to the most in general for selling stuff? I guess Yavin?
    2. If your characters are using Force Powers like Wound/Lightning and ....(another dark side power I added but forgot the name of) alot in fights (with tuskens for example) does this affect your dark/light ratio?
    3. Of the skils Dexterity is 1 of the first to upgrade as high as possible?
    4. I read of a Exar Kun's Light Battle Suit, is it any good and where can i find it or buy it?

Yep, Yavin. But look if you need money, for all the cheap stuff - blasters, swords, etc. - it doesn't really matter.

    2. If your characters are using Force Powers like Wound/Lightning and ....(another dark side power I added but forgot the name of) alot in fights (with tuskens for example) does this affect your dark/light ratio?

Not to my knowledge, and when I went dark I did fight only with Force Powers. So, my shot in the dark is: No.

    3. Of the skils Dexterity is 1 of the first to upgrade as high as possible?

That depends, at any rate you will find very powerful Dex items later in the game. (+4 and +5) Dex is important for ranged attcks and Defense. If you have a Jedi with Dex 20, that'll do it pretty good. But he is not so strong as a Jedi with Wisdom 20. Dex might help you in a fight, but with Wisdom, you mostly won't fight at all (Stasis Field) For the warriors, high dex is not important, because of the heavy armor.

    4. I read of a Exar Kun's Light Battle Suit, is it any good and where can i find it or buy it?

I am not sure but I think on Korriban, after certain developements. But it is fun to explore these rich worlds yourself ;)

    LL :)

EDIT: Congrats for beating them,BTW. You should come back later in the game when you are stronger for a little "payback time" - and when you do the sidequests, you'll certainly come back.

Yes, it's on the Czerka outpost on Korriban. The thing that fooled me on it was that a Jedi used it, but when I bought it, you can't use force powers while in the armor because it's classified as just that-- armor. That means it doesen't really come into use to you, unless you want to put it on someone else in your party.

The protection isn't the best on the game, so don't equip it on the player you like to do all the dirty work.

LL: Thanks for your congrats :). I am already doing every sidequest as possible, but coming back all strong with dark side powers (altough I play the first completely light) and wiping them out Anakin style sounds good ;). I just hope I can raid that enclave of them anyway after I helped them out.
And I am walking every inch of every world just to check that I dont miss anything, the question on finding it was pure for convience.

Smuggler: That is really a shame that you cannot you use the Force in that armor and that it isnt that good. I am mainly playing now with Bastila, my own Jedi and Juhani (until I find Jolee or whatever that JEdi on Kashyyyk calls himself). I was thinking of making my own Jedi a strong fighter (especially since he has to go fight against Malak alone), Bastila the force powered one and Juhani/Jolee an alrounder.

So I guess this means dex. for my own Jedi and lots of wisdom for Bastila?

Still not sure tough on wich equipment/clothing to use on them. Guess something light and strong for my own jedi.

Okay, what exactly do you mean? If you're thinking you can go up against Malak with Bastilla or any other character already set up in the game, you can't. When you face him, you face him alone. Bastilla will be having her own contraversy around that point herself, so she wouldn't be able to help you with Malek anyway.

I know that Smuggler, I mean for the general part of the game I want to do that like I said. But because indeed Dack Dackari (random name that popped up when creating my character) has to face Malak alone (and sadly I know the big secret also) I want to attribute to him all kind of skills that makes it Malak easier to defeat. I generally suck at end bosses so thats why I was wondering from the start what Ican use for skills the most to defeat him.

I wouldn't make Jolee an allrounder. He is a consular, whose main weapons are his force powers, unlike Juhani, who is a guardian, which is the fighter class. Bastila is a sentinel, so she would be the allrounder.

Although it doesn't really matter, as you can beat the game without following any principles. ;)

As for equipment, I would buy the "Electrical Capacitance Shield" on Kashyyyk. Very useful against the Sith.

As for making the Malak fight as easy as possible, if you have a

-scout/counselor: good luck, you are lacking so many hitpoints that you'll need a lot of life support packages, Malak does 25 - 45 damage per hit if you are not protected thoroughly.

    -scout/guardian: relatively easy

-soldier/guardian: VERY easy, you have soooo many feats, you won't know what to do with them.

As for equipment: On Korriban, you can buy the best belt in the game which gives you +2 Dex and +4 for all saving throws (Do not underestimate the power of saving throws!) Furthermore, buy there the best gauntlets (+5 ST and +3 Dex). If you have IMP level 3 (which I'd recommend) buy Dex 5 on Yavin. The best Jedi robe can be found on Korriban, but if you have a strong fighter as pc who can wear medium armor, buy an armor on Kashyyyk which goes for 10 grand and gives you +9 defense and allows +2 dex bonus.

In the Malak fight, equip the Verpine Prototype Shield when fighting Malak, can be found on Korriban also (each for 2000), and Malak will do about 5 damage per round.

    LL :)

Wow thanks for all the tips.

It seems that every good stuff is been found on Korriban then.

    My stats so far:

    Guardian level 4
    Soldier level 8
    Defense 21
    Strenght 19 +4
    Dex. 14 +2
    Cons. 14 +2
    Intel. 10 0
    Wisdom 12 +1
    Char. 10 0
    Fortitude 13
    Reflex 9
    Will 6

And when it comes to shields etc I dont have a clue what to use when. I am wearing a Echani Fiber armor, fully upgraded. My heavy combat suit went to Mission, Jedi Knight robe to Juhani, Echani light armor for Canderous (want to subsitute it perhaps for Cassus Fett armor if thats wise) and Bastila also has a Jedi knight robe.

And I checked my item list and there is a lot I can sell next time I come to Yavin...

It will be SOOOO easy for you to beat Malak. You should indeed put everything on Dex. Nothing more on Con, Wis, Str or Char. With the special items which could be found at least in my PC version, you'll get about 20 Wisdom, that is quite sufficient.

Let me give you some advice on feats&Force Powers for your PC:
-Master Flurry, Master Power Attack, level 3 Imp, and if you prefer single blade: master dueling
-ForcePowers: Stasis Field, Master Speed, Immunity, Healing, Force Persuade
-Skills: Each skill on treatment of injuries - you'll need it.

For your companions: If you prefer Jedi only, make someone proficient in Kill droid, Stasis Field and Force Whirlwind,
give Juhani the dueling mastership, and make Jolee strong in Wisdom.

If you prefer mixed parties, take one of the soldiers with you and give him a good melee weapon. Two of the best can be found on - yes - Korriban, it is the Sith sanctuary, after all. Ranged weapons are only complementary, there is only one excellent ranged weapon in the game: A fully upgraded Baragwin Heavy Repeater in Canderous hands! (does 10-50 dam, for about 15k on Yavin)

    Just my two cents...

    LL :)

P.S. light side bonus for your char will be +3 Strength, if you don't know already...

Edit: In Melee combats, you should equip the Melee Shields, when you are facing ranged fighters: Energy shields.

Everything on Dex it will be then. And getting those other powers you mentioned, I already have the master Flurry I believe. I prefer fighting with 2 blades (in each hand, like my fanfic character) so I can forget about master dueling or is it still handy to get?

Ahwell thanks a lot. I shall keep you all updated on my progress. It is truely a great game if you ask me. I can look for hours on Dantooine or Tatooine just in distance, to the suns etc..

If you can get plague. It does fraggin wonders on all enemies by poisoning and attacking their stats, and it requires a saving throw of 100!! so it is impossible for anyone--even Malak--to prevent it. Also get force breach or supression. It will be needed vs the dark jedi who use force shield (Malak).

Is Force kill all that worth it and what is the DS bonus if the LS bonus is +3 to STR??

Oke, I am already seeing the results of the tips here, so thanks for that.

Perhaps 1 last thing I wonder about I guess these 3 combo's of crystals are the best?:

    Sapith/Upari
    Solari/Upari
    Nextor/Opila

I will buy for sure those 2 crystals when I can on Yavin or 1 of them, depending on my money and will equip it for my PC with a Solari/Upari combo I think.

Old_Republic_Knight The bonus depends on your character:
    Guardian +3 St
    Counselor + 50 FP
    Sentinel +??

I don'know if it changes for light or dark...

Exar_Kun Both go for about 35k credits, and you don't need the dueling skill. But if you have too many feats and you don't know what to do with them, you can still put them in there if you occasionally choose to fight with one saber.

Ah finally you screw up my name, took you guys long enough, on other fanboards they do it more often and quicker ;). The name is XAN instead of Kun. Xan is a distant relative of Kun in my fanfics.

But I progressing nicely into the game now. I just left Tatooine, still playing lots of Pazaak games on Yavin to try and get those discounts (or the 750 creds per winning) and I finally kissed Bastila :D, ending the conversations with her till the end it seems about our bond..

Okay. I've gone through Taris and Dantooine. I'm a male LS scoundrel/consular. Seems to me the best way to get the ranks necessary to get HK fixed up, and I enjoy teasing Bastila to no end. Since I'm going lightside, I'm taking the two weapon fighting tree so I can get the two special crystals at Yavin near the end of the game. That being said, this is what I had my party equip when I left both worlds.

    Taris
Main character - Echani Fiber Armor (fully upgraded), Neural Band, Cardio-Regulator, Arkanian Heavy Pistol, Heavy Blaster

Carth - Echani Battle Armor, Neural Band, Cardio-Regulator, Bendak's Blaster (fully upgraded), Carth's Blaster (fully upgraded)

Mission - Bonadan Alloy Heavy Suit, Aural Amplifier, Stealth Field Generator, Zaalbar's Bowcaster with Scope

Big Z - Adrenaline Amplifier, Strength Gauntlets, Prototype Vibroblade (fully upgraded), Mission's Vibroblade (fully upgraded)

Bastila - Clothes, Verpine Headband, Brejik's Belt, Brejik's Gloves, Brejik's Arm Band, Saberstaff

T3 - Light Plating Type 1, Energy Shield Level 2, Computer Probe, Stun Ray, Shield Disruptor, 2 Heavy Blasters

Canderous - Light Battle Armor, Adrenaline Amplifier, Ordo's Repeating Blaster

    Dantooine
Main character - Jedi Knight Robes, Verpine Headband, Brejik's Belt, Brejik's Gloves, Brejik's Arm Band, Lightsaber with Rubat and Bondar, Lightsaber with Rubat and Sigil

Carth - Davik's War Suit, Davik's Visor, Adrenaline Amplifier, Bendak's Blaster (fully upgraded), Carth's Blaster (fully upgraded)

Mission - Echani Fiber Armor (fully upgraded), Interface Band, Stealth Field Generator, Infiltrator Gloves, Zaalbar's Bowcaster with Scope and Hair Trigger

Big Z - Adrenaline Amplifier, Eriadu Strength Amplifiers, Response Package, Prototype Vibroblade (fully upgraded), Mission's Vibroblade (fully upgraded)

Bastila - Jedi Robes, Verpine Headband, Verpine Cardio-Regulator, Strength Gauntlets, Saberstaff

T3 - Medium Plating Type 1, Energy Shield Level 2, Computer Probe, Basic Targeting Computer, Flame Thrower, Shield Disruptor, Heavy Blaster, Arkanian Heavy Pistol

Canderous - Echani Battle Armor, Neural Band, Adrenaline Amplifier, Ordo's Repeating Blaster

I'd suggest swapping Canderous over to melee weapons.

He does well with his cannon, but can be oh so effective a tank.

Canderous has a higher strength than dexterity, so he does rather well with melee. If you do have him use ranged weapons, heavy armor will limit any dex bonuses you've given him.

If you do the Genoharen assassin missions, you can get two poison blades. If you've been having Canderous go two weapon fighting, you can give him these and heavy armor, and then simply watch people die.

If you want PURE melee action, Zaalbar will be a good choice. Add Strength to him and a lot of melee feats and skills, he can blow everyone out with his melee attacks!

Too bad you can't use him on Kashyyyk!

many of you dont realize the real value of the two most expensive and valued items throughout the game.
They are the heart of the guardian (20,000 credits) and mantle of the force (25,000 credits). They can be only bought from the Yaving Station. You need to collect three or more star maps to be able to buy this. For this reason, after you get a star map, head to Yavin Station right away and save a lot of credits cuz ur gona need it!

another valued crystal is krayt pearl. It is actually effective if used with solari. Assemble solari, krayt pearl, and a color crystal (i have two lightsabers that my character use, heart of the guardian on the left-turquoise color and mantle of the force on the right-orange color). And watch your character kill young rancors in seconds!

Old Republic Knight, I find the wound/choke and the lightning ones worth getting. They do enough damage (if 1 of your Jedi focus on force whirlwind to get an enemy in the air and the other 2 jedi using choke/wound the enemy gets a lot of damage before he gets back up to attack you again.

LL: No probs at all, just shows that you pay more attention then anybody else to a name ;).

Because I was busy I havent played in a few days. I won about 4/5 games of Pazaak from that Rodian on Yavin. Does anybody know how much times you have to beat him for the discount?

Old_Republic_Knight Only Force Kill is really effective, but is the least favourable option among the Dark Side Force powers. If you play Dark Side, clearly Death Field and Force Storm are better options for a group of enemies (and quite nice to watch, too).
But the fastest way to kill a single enemy is Force Kill - there is nothing better than to use Force Kill on a Rancor or a Terentatek which shows you that your PC is really da man! As for light side, wouldn't it be a little uncharacteristic for a Jedi to Force choke people to death? :p

Exar-Xan: Only 2/3 more to go, but the best items will be available only after you discovered the fifth Star Map.

    LL :)
