Not everyone has a good saving throw to help them with a kill-choke.

Like me first time I played.

The Korriban Academy master Uthar used it against me. After two chokes, I died helplessly. That game, I never selected ANY saving throws, didn't know how to level up properly.

All I could do was Force Wave and pummel Uthar for my life, which is actually uite delightful . . .

I have now played the game three times. The first two times i played as a male light side character and the third time as a male dark side character.

I managed to get Bastila fall in love with me in the last two games (both sides) and the end of the game was very different. When trying to have Basila fall in love with you, it is important that you talk with her as much as possible. Even if you play a dark side character, you need to be mr. nice guy when talking with her. Don't try to be offensive - support her and let her lead the conversation.

When playing as a dark side character (don't read more if you don't want me to spoil your game!) you can
ally with Basila in the unknown Rakatan planet and she will tell you that you two can remove Malak and she will be both your lover and your padawan.

If you play in the light side, the romance will lead just to a "kiss" - play dark if you like the romance side quest..

And I am back with a question:

I just came across the first 3 Sith lords on Kashyykk and killed them easily. But I do wonder this: How can I defend myself against Force Powers?

    Xan, try the following:

-Force freeze them at all times
-Adorn yourself with items that help protect against certain attacks
-Allocate points to areas that boost your saving throws

-Bash those Dark Jedi first who give you nasty attacks. In doing so, they'll have to drain your life to replemish their loss, and in doing so, you won't get the kill moves.

    Thanks again.

I am about to leave Kashyyyk, but I didn't found that darn Elec(tric) belt or something like that that repels Force Lightning. Where exactly is it?

Never heard of a belt like that...

To block force powers against you, Force suppression (i think) I s a good power up, it blocks their first and second tier powers

The two men arguing with each other near the Kashyyyk landing pad will sell the electrical capacitance belt. Buy it before the carpets rise up and kill them all. It's essential, blocking all Force lighting at you.

I find lightning to be very friggan helpful. I mean 10-60 DMG to all those in front (or around for Storm) you. I also love the staff saber. It's like having strong dual sabers + the crystals, but the drawback is w/ dual sabers you use upto 4 crystals and w/ staff sabers only 2 crystals can be used. I usually choose the sentinel b/c you can nail a force power on the enemy then hack n slash. Most people lean to the consular or guardian, but you have little force as a guardian (boring), and decent fighting skills as a consular (trouble when force is running on E). the only way I would use a consular is if I started as a soldier and used all possible lvl-ups before the jedi transformation.

Mad Hint: wait until you become a jedi to lvl up. It is possible to beat taris as a lvl 3 scout, and you can do every sidequest w/o lvling-up. I even killed starkiller (I used a combo of plasma and concussion grenades).

Thanks Excellence, shame that I didnt thought about it untill those carpets were already rising up the slavers and I walked past the place they were standing. I still have that droid with me that proves that Eli is a murderer.

Ahwell it is good to have left Kashyyyk. Jolee was the sole saving grace of that planet if you ask me.

And just when you thought it couldnt get worse it got worse...

I arrived on Korriban, things where going fine, I talked to Jolee and that other old guy appeard. I persuaded succesfully to not pay the docking fee...and from there it went wrong:

How many times I reload that first guy either kills those 3 helpfulls or humiliate them gaining me dark side points (or light sides when they got killed...weird...). Anyway then it went good with that female Sith that asks you to entertain her. The joke was pretty funny if you ask me, she just doesnt have humour.

Then I saw those 3 idiots at the entrance standing there for days...after the required talk with that Melek (or whatever his name is) I tried to persuade them to leave. Something I know to be possible. The alien left normally, the middle guy doesnt want to talk (ahwell normally that is I think), the other dies but cannot be persuaded at all...then I went back to return to the cantina to talk to the Female Twi'lek trying to get me in...but she isnt there! No matter how many times I reload. What am I doing wrong? I checked a walktrough and it was all good..

And I am well past it.

Trying to fight against Bandon. Was close to beating him when all the sudden he used Force Drain, sucked the life out of Jolee. Without Jolee I was done for...

I am fighting him with Jolee en Carth (had him because of the subplot. Perhaps I shall try to exchange him?). Seems pretty depserate to fight Bandon...any tips?

Use Juhani and Bastila. Force Powers are not good with Bandon.

Xan, save Korriban as the last starmap. That way, you can add the "big revelation" to your discussions, it makes for awesome humour. It helps out in standoff situations too.

I recommend you redo Kashyyyk if you don't have the elec belt. It's lightning proof, and you have a lot of Dark Jedi and Dark Jedi Masters who delight in it.

Old_Republic_Knight. It's no secret now. Many players, not just myself, have recommended it here in the Games forum. I can provide you the battle strat to beat Starkiller on level 2 if you want.

The problem now is Excellence that I cannot go back. The only 2 savegames I have is an auto save at Korriban and a 'normal' save right before Bandon's fight. So my options are: To cheat me that belt, fight without one, retreat Bandon's battle to get Juhani or to go to Manaan and leave Korriban for the time being. I haven't done much yet at Korriban, the last I did was some stuff at the Academy (freeing that mandalorian prisoner was the last thing, then I talked to that guy and give him the datapad and then left for the Valley of the Dark Lords)..I guess going to Manaan is the best option and cheat me the belt.

    And I dislike cheating.

The full name of the belt is: Electrical capacitance belt right?

Why do you only have two recently saved games? Are you playing PC or Xbox? I usually have around 6 saved files per world, just to be sure. It's saved me probs when I've made a mistake, or the game accidentally spins a ritz.

First time I played (lightsider) I was a miser to spend $$$, so I got the Wookies to revolt and the merchants died. The belt isn't essential. Your Force Wave is powerful.

It's just that darksiders will always zap you. Deprived of the ability to do so, they'll usually life drain instead. It's a sneaky thing: when they're doing that, they aren't wacking you with a blade, so you can keep them at a distance and make them perform certain attacks.

I am playing on the PC and I have only 2 save games because normally I don't play games like these. With other games I find it sufficent enough to have only 2, how much did I know this was a different thing with a RPG ;)?

Hmm I guess I will try to find a way to still get the belt though. And Force Wave works also against Force Drain or not?

And I was about to leave to play the game: Shall I ignore Korriban for now and get my part to Manaan first? Guess that wouldnt hurt I think.

EDIT: WOAH, I just killed Bandon without using the Force (just stunning those other 2 that comes with him). I used Carth to create a diversion by letting him shoot master power blasts at Bandon, before he attacked my character he already got 3 master flurries trough Bandon. And Jolee got also a few attacks trough at the time Bandon started focusing on my character. Well I guess I will stay on Korriban now and let Manaan have the big revalation talks.

Am I missing much specifics on Korriban then? I mean I know that you can talk to everybody (except Bastila ofcourse, I am sadly too spoiled) to hear wha tthey think..but are the special comments on Korriban then?

I'm trying to gather all that is necessary to construct my lightsaber, and I think I have all the parts. Bao Dur keeps telling me that I do not have a lens, even though I have two. Did this happen to anyone else, or does someone know something I have done wrong? I read something about the parts having to be basic, is there a certain lens I have to find or create. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Sorry...wrong thread....

Hope you all had a good holiday. I've gone through Tatooine and Kashyyyk, and I'm heading for Korriban next. I used to do Korriban last, but this time around I wanted to make it stop #4 so I could hear Bastila's comments when we visited Korriban.
