Yeah he is great in it. I do hope he comes back. While I don't think 100% is clickbait, I do agree with you that Jason Schreier is the better source.
A Twitch streamer said that she wants to wait for the remake to stream KOTOR and I’m worried that that will end up like waiting for a 1971 Beatles concert.
I'm reading KOTOR vol 3 comics. It just sort of struck me how cool opening a whole film/TV KOTOR era would be. Alternatively, it could be live action tv, animation and video game with the KOTOR remake being the tentpole of the whole thing. KOTOR animation would be stories of Jedi during the Mandalorian Wars, largely an anthology like TCW was originally supposed to be. Revan and Malak/Squint aren't central characters, but they appear from time to time as they do in the comics. Instead, we see what's going on with other Jedi that joined the cause and the Jedi Council arguing against them. Meetra Surik could be a focal character, though if they were to do a KOTOR2 remake they probably wouldn't want to use the player character in a concrete way. Could be work arounds to keep Revan and Meetra present but not fully defined in an animated series. So, Jolee Bindo, Kreia and other new characters. That's the animated series. Live action series, Zayne Carrick. Tom Holland is practically the spitting image of Zayne as drawn by Brian Ching. It's got the kind of goofball comedy that's in vogue. The whole situation with Gryph and Slsssk when the Little Bivoli is hilarious, plus Zayne's constant good ups. I think that fits with the kind of MCU humor that crept into the ST, and adapting the KOTOR comics would be the place for it. All that could work around the game remake to preserve the player experience.
Cool figure, thanks for the heads-up on that one! It's as much a Rakatan droid figure as it is a Bastilla one, which is very unexpected. The floor/base is obviously from the Dantooine Star Map temple ruins. It'd be really appropriate if the droid could speak in multiple languages like they do in-game.
I just hope the KOTOR Remake came out soon and not during the end of the current generation of consoles or for the PS6
On Gentle Giant's site we have more up-close photos of the statue. Personally I believe that this might be based on the Remake character design, but it is only a guess right now.
If this Remake becomes part of the New Canon did you think they will reference Tales of the Jedi like the original game?
I replayed KOTOR this past week. I haven't played it since high school, maybe 2005 or so, and having decided to play TOR finally I figured I should probably brush up on the original. I was surprised how much certain things were familiar, but how some stuff I had entirely forgotten. I had also never done the Dustil, Juhani, or Jolee/Manaan side plots, so that was interesting, especially the latter. Perhaps one of this game's strongest features lay in puzzles and story-based investigations like the Manaan trial (there is a similar murder mystery on Dantooine too), rather than simply fighting. I rather enjoy the "Jedi as detective" role. @Jedi Ben is correct that the fighting is really simplistic. There are a few cool force powers and tricks you can do later on, but unless you use the cheat code, you're sort of stuck doing the same point-and-click attack over and over for a large part of the game. My reaction to the characters has somewhat changed over time: Canderous is still my favorite. Now I remember why. He actually has something legitamately interesting to say about every place you go, and you usually learn something about the GFFA's history every time you speak with him. He's also a competant badass, but that goes without saying. Bastila is not as annoying as I remember. I used to avoid having her in my party, but now I understand her better I guess? It's clear she's a young person (even if she looks older) who the Jedi piled a lot of responsibilities on too soon. Her dark side fling at the end still isn't entirely convicing, but I get it more than I did before. And her story with her mom is pretty realistic. Parents can be jerks without resorting to real abuse, and they can also feel bad about it but be too proud to say anything. Jolee is wayyyyyyy more entertaining than I recall. I ended up taking him with me on most side missions this time. Choosing him to help break out of the Leviathan is a riot! He runs around in literally his boxer shorts and beats up everyone on the deck. The game is sort of glitched because later everyone will have their clothes in some of the serious scenes, and he reappears in just the boxers. And he most definitely has some of the best one-liners in the game. Mission is not as annoying I as I remember, either. I actually feel really sorry for her. Zaalbar is a bit... worse than I recalled. He really doesn't do or say much throughout the game. The Kashyyyk plot is fine, but he can't come with you for most of it. He says virtually nothing when he's with your group. Juhani is ok. Her character had a lot more story potential than the game allowed, and she rarely interacts with the other characters. It's cool they included a Cathar in the game though. T3 is useless. HK is amusing, but he actually says little in this game when he's with your group, and after you do the song-and-dance to fix his memory core. Carth is an idiot. I despised him almost 20 years ago, and still hate him. He's a whiny little jerk. He doesn't even make sense half the time. If you're a female, he comes off as super sketchy. He forces himself on you with lines like "Hey beautiful" and "Hey gorgeous" even when you tell him to stop, and then does the "I'm only trying to protect you!" "Tell me your feelings!" thing that unfortunately a lot of guys actually do say to girls and they're usually the real super creeps. The Dustil plot was almost enjoyable because you get to see Carth's son tell him over and over how much Carth is a horrible human being. The planets are gorgeous, even if the graphics are old. Great choice of locales. Lehon is still one of the best; it's too bad the Rakata plot at the end isn't better developed, but it's still fascinating. And I think that's this game's strongest feature: It had a great plot. You're playing to know what happens next, line any good Bioware game. There's definitely a strong Mass Effect vibe, but that hadn't been made yet, so in a way this was like the prototype Mass Effect, with the lore building off the previous TOTJ comics. They did an excellent job there, particularly regarding the Infinite Empire and the Star Forge. Malak is a bit week as a villain, but nothing beats the Revan story. Guess I'm replay KOTOR 2 now. I only played that once before, so my memory of that one is really vague. Nihilus was a cool bloke though.
KOTOR 1 is still very Amazing for a nearly 20 years old game i cant wait for more news for the Remake i hope is not Cancelled it is the most anticipated game for me in this new generation
The Imp officer-style tunic on Malak is a weird change - I thought it was just Hasbro reusing old parts to save money at first. If I still collected Star Wars toys I'd probably be disappointed that they're based on a game that might never exist instead of the original, but it's interesting to get a look at what the remake would have been like. I think the lack of secrecy over these designs isn't a good sign for the game actually being released, though.
I see it the other way around - if confidence in the project is high enough for toy figures to be done, that says it'll come out at some point. Just not to the ludicrously unrealistic prior timetable.
Eh they look very much like the ones in the Original Game. I don't know if/when the remake will come or what it will look like. So if it never comes, you can just say they are from the original.
I would like the KOTOR Remake to be faithful to the Original game and stay being Legends I want to see the same story but with better Graphics and updated Gameplay but honestly i wouldnt be surprised if they make changes to the story so that this Remake can fit with the New Canon Universe i think the KOTOR Remake could be part of the New Canon Universe i wouldnt be surprised to see Exegol in this game and find out why Revan is venerated in Rise of Skywalker and being honest they need to sell the game why potential buyers would be interested in buying a new game where the story is not part of the New Canon?
One angle is the decisions you make in the game matter more. If it's part of the new stuff, players might suspect they'll be set to a fixed destination no matter what.
I can see the KOTOR and Revan Fans buying this new Remake but what about the fans who dont know Revan? i think making the Remake part of the New Canon will attract fans who didnt play the original KOTOR but if this Remake is New Canon i could see that they would replace Dromund Kaas with Exegol but still i hope this Remake is Legends I still think that this Remake will come out because they announced new figures of Bastila and Darth Malak and Revan figures sell very well a new game would create more interest in the figures
Curiosity. Kotor has quite a high profile for a SW game and there are relatively few really good ones, so they stand out more.
I'd be surprised if this was ever supposed to be canon, but I am curious if it'd be deemed "canon-to-Legends". Revealing the designs through action figures with no fanfare or callouts doesn't really fit with LFL's approach to merchandising, though. You'd think if it was meant to build interest in or piggy-back off of the remake they'd at least mention it. More than a KotOR remake, what I'd really like is a new Star Wars role-playing game. Maybe all the cancellations and delays could make room for one.
The Black Series Bastila and the Diorama don't share the same colour scheme, so I don't think they were based on any one united concept.
I would like to know if in the Remake Revan and Malak were Brainwashed by Vitiate or by another Sith as it happened in the Revan Book i hope this does not happen in the Remake and Revan and Malak turned to the Dark Side in their own way as was originally planned I hope the True Sith storyline continue to exist but to be told differently from SWTOR game
