I think Valky tried to turn them into pawns but failed. Since they were already pretty dark when they meet him and it is confirmed they were working against him.
I’ve taken it for many years that Vitiate simply named them. Revan and Malak were Sith for many years beforehand, they just needed someone to turn the key. Like Jacen and Lumiya, in my mind.
Pretty sure it was confirmed by Leland Chee that the Remake falls into Legends continuity. Figures were specifically mentioned to be based on designs from the Remake. The diorama/statue seems to be based on the original game.
I would guess that technically it should't but who knows. Some time ago some YTuber claimed that the game was mostly self-contained without any allusions to KoTOR2 or SWTOR. However, he also mentioned that supposedly two major characters got their genders changed in the Remake with Saul Karath and Calo Nord being women in the game. If this is really the case I would find it quite disappointing for Saul as his character appeared in other Star Wars media.
I hope to hear more News soon in this New Year the Original KOTOR Game will have his 20th Birthday Next Year
How long until they add Exile as a Black Series figure? Traya, Atris? etc. I want KOTOR 2 Black Series!
So far we have Darth Revan, Jedi Knight Revan, Darth Nihilus and Zaalbar. Bastila and Malak are on the way, of course. It's a pretty good number from the KOTOR franchise as is.
After coming across this old concept art for Bastila Shan, I’ve come up with a little idea that I hope gets incorporated into the KOTOR remake (but probably won’t). As we all know, Bastila falls to the dark side after being tortured by Malak and is gifted with the usual hackneyed Star Wars evil Force user pack: black robes and red lightsaber. Instead of this, I think she should wear dark brown robes and wield a blue lightsaber as shown in this concept art. Have the lightsaber be Exar Kun’s lightsaber, with Malak somehow having obtained it and handing it down to Bastila once she has fallen to the dark side. It’s still a double-bladed lightsaber so it would fit Bastila nicely and there wouldn’t be any change in animation if we're not accounting for the shorter hilt, but even then I’d imagine the changes would be minimal. It would work well within the context of this story regardless if you’ve read TOTJ or not. For those who haven’t read the comics, it’s just part of the history within the story, similar to how Obi Wan gives Luke his father’s lightsaber in ANH. For those who have read TOTJ, it would be a neat connection to the comics.
I have a feeling that the KOTOR Remake will be part of the New Canon and it wont be Legends maybe they are modifying the Story so the Remake can Fit with the New Canon Timeline maybe the Revan of the Remake is New Canon Revan and the events of the Original KOTOR Game happens but with few differences i have heard that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake changed aspects of the Story of the Original Game the same i think can happen with KOTOR Remake i doubt that KOTOR Remake will continue to be a RPG Game with turns I feel that it will be more focused on the Action if the KOTOR Remake is part of the New Canon it will be the first time we will see a Story in the Old Republic Timeline in the New Canon but well thats is my theory
Couple of things: They already said it'd be Legends. This also works best for the guide of decision-guided narrative KotOR is known for. FF7R already proved that action combat and RPG aspects are not mutually exclusive.
FF7 remake is arguably a lot closer to Silent Hill Shattered Memories in that it's better defined as a reimagining(not knocking either! SH:SM and FF7re are fantastic! I generally prefer reimagining over remakes). Certain MCs have knowledge they absolutely shouldn't have, other characters (main or supporting) who are fated to die absolutely survive, and there's this whole plot in the background implying (with the subtlety of a jackhammer) that there's some time travel/multiverse shenanigans going on. A KOTOR remake along the lines of FF7 would have a fundamentally different galaxy than what we're used to, or a galaxy that is on the cusp of becoming different by the time the events of KOTOR picks up. For example, Dromund Kaas and/or Zakuul making their presence known during/before the events of the game, characters like Bastilla or Kreia having future knowledge, or just something fundamentally different about that setting.
I can see Exegol appearing in KOTOR Remake instead of Dromund Kaas and Zakuul Revan was revered in Exegol in Rise of Skywalker guides a New Canon version of Darth Revan exist and it would be strange that KOTOR Remake Revan is not the New Canon version
I was thinking about KOTOR Remake gameplay today while on a hike. I'm sure they will go more action based than turn based, but I wonder how that might effect the party dynamics. In which case, it could be interesting to add an online multiplayer component for using your party. I also would like it to be bigger. More open world. With respawning enemies.
Turnsheets of Malak and Bastila upcoming figures from Hasbro's texture artist. They give us a good look at their possible designs in the Remake.
We need Mission Vao, Jolee Bindo, Carth Onasi and Canderous Ordo Figures maybe Sith Trooper and Republic Trooper Figures
Since there is no more KOTOR Remake News since 2021 Honestly in the case if KOTOR Remake is Cancelled i dont care anymore the Original Games exist and are still perfect in my opinion
Who knows what happens in the Future hopefully it wont be Cancelled but if it happens i will be prepared
