Hello all, I will encourage you all not to miss tonight. It should prove to be an interesting game. Just a reminder that Darkstar is going to be co GMing under my group still and we have been brainstorming and working towards the right kind of transition. We are trying to allow the games to be small enough that all get to play. Talon and myself are still the main Gm's, but as the group grows there may be times we may desire to ask others that wish to excercise there creativity, to allow the games to grow. I am excited that Darkstar is willing, as he is a very great story teller and is one of the first to be in the original games, many years ago. So welcome Darkstar.
Also If you have a frustration or desire for something in the game contact me in person or even private message me here. I do check the boards regulary, but I seldom post unless there is something I really want to say.

All characters can die and that is what can make a game exciting. Knowing that the possibility of death is real can be something we know, but when we see it happen to characters around us, it adds the edge of excitement feeling the reality. Tonight we did have two characters die. One of the most incredible computer hackers for a lv 2 ever, "C". Died at the hands of two characters attacking him from behind, after he had tried to kill another character.
The second was a character that was incredibly lucky and was always more than he seemed. He was one that was loyal to the team and gave everything he had to help all of the crew. In the end he gave his life to save the rest of the team. R.I.P. "Chance Plae" Do they have saboc in Starwars heaven?

    Mama Pajama!

Could C's death be avenged by friends he didn't know he had?

You two guys who killed him... you just might have made two enemies!

That would be an interesting encounter. Chance was a good leader and built a strong team... With the exception of C (who had to be removed because he turned on the team),so far all of the 11 or 12 members of our team have defended each other--even when we don't like them. =) Quite a contrast to the philosophy of your team, huh?

    Toku poses an excellent thought/question.

Although, correct me if I'm wrong, Toku, but didn't C die because he attempted to kill Chance, and instead was slain by two of the other team members? ("pickaxe in the back of the neck" is a a phrase coming to memory)

    ;)

You are correct. When faced with a back-stabbing traitor, the team decided he needed to be eliminated. Though our characters do not know this, it appears that the elimination of C was the smartest thing the team could have done as he was apparently spying on us. Heh heh he.... I applaud Dex and Nax for their actions--they have made our team stronger.

Toku has a valid point that the team is strong and has choosen to stick together, dispite the differences and frustrations with characters at times. Though now the greatest challege they now face, that is a group that is equal having no leader. Will they choose to stay strong and united or will they fall under the path of "the Talon table". Stay tuned and see what path is in store for this group.

    The Talon Table?????

Hey, hey, now.... time for me to defend my table ;)

My players have come a long way from when they first started. Although Kronos has several veterans at his table, I used to GM some of those very same people back when they weren't veterans... and I must say that they have matured into very good role players. Ah, but I remember the early days... days that would put my current table to shame with the things they said and did.

Currently, at my table, I have several new players, and several more experienced players, and a couple of ex-GM's. Quite a mix. But I am proud to say that our group is turning into a great group, although slightly different is some of their goals and attitudes.

Yes, we have had some rather unfortunate (and spectacular) acts of the dark side, but that doesn't always happen. In fact, just this last game, NOBODY died. (hehehe)

So, just like so many games before (some which Kronos and his players would remember), character cut their teeth on a new universe, and learn the value of teamwork, loyalty and friends. Even the darksiders eventually learn this (teamwork, loyalty and friendship can be... useful). And their characters are better for it.

We are not in competition with you guys, we just co-exist in the same universe at the same time. Hopefully, when our paths do cross, it will not be as adversaries.

    :)

Yeah I was pretty much kidding about the whole avenging "C" thing. The only thing my character will know is that if I try to contact him I'll get no response. Cant really roleplay that into avenging his murder. I dont even know he's dead. And I know teamwork just fine, Not this last week but the week before I helped Petra out of a tight spot by murdering a witness, er I mean, oh yeah murdering a witness.

By the way, several things come to mind with that "Path of the Talon table" comment...

"Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side"

"Your faith in your friends is yours!"

"You want this dont you?" <---- Jealousy of the warm, cozy darkness enveloping parts of our table.

"Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny" Yoda, Empire Strikes Back

This is "C" (From the Grave)

While I feel that my actions were for the Good of myself I do not consider myself a Traitor to the team. My frustrations at Chance came from many interactions that I was noticing deception to the team. While Chance portrayed himself as a great leader I believe that he was using the team as a ?Front? for something else to better his own agenda. I grew up my entire like to rationalize my thoughts and to weight both sides to every situation. From what I could see Chance was stabbing the team in the back, but instead I was?um?Ekrin and DarthDarkStar. While I feel that my death was a mistake let me say this, ?I will have my revenge?

Wow, I see a war starting to brood... in a few weeks I can see all of us sitting together and trying to kill one another.... hmm. that would be kinda fun.... I mean, no that would be bad...
Now it is time for me to defend "Talons table" as well... I know, everyone at my table now looks at me like a traitor for saying this, but I do have to defend their characters.

Lars Darkstar and Gerson cut off each others limbs about once a game.
Lars Darkstar and Gene tried to kill each other many, many times and left scars all over the bodies.
Talon has a great point in saying that in the beginning we have done a lot of the same things they are doing now. and for the evil thing, it is just plain fun being able to kill people.
I don't think our table is not killing people based soely on experience. My one reason for not being all evil is becuase I have been there and done that, that is where the experience part comes in. But the other part comes into the GM hands too. There just isn't a lot of opportunity to be evil when Chance was leading the group (Kronos I am not talking about your GMing, Im refering to the actual character) cause he would yell at us and not pay us if we killed people, so I just didnt.

Ok, now that I have spent this time writing this long message to defend the characters of the game I am looking back and thinking that I spent way too much time talking about this. so peace out.

Wait a minute C, you said that there was no hard feelings between you and my character and Ekrins. I mean sure we killed you and left your dead body to the mercy of the piggy guards, but still. :) Let the love flow and maybe your next character won't be so angry.

It sounds like to me that you all conspired to kill a member of your team who was coloring outside the lines. Who is truly being evil here? And dont say we did the same thing becuase er, um, well I wasn't there at the time and Raynor had to die. (Sorry Sam)

That reminds me about "Red". Evil really doesn't need a reason to kill. And Petra's all about the evil and I'm well on my way... especially If Petra and I keep hanging out, definite Dark side influence.... and this hotel room destroying thing has possibilities...

I'd love to come up there Talon...I'm only 1 state away :)

What era are the two games playing in ? I've been running my players through a campaign that leads right up to the declaration of the Empire fairly soon. Got a REALLY nasty surprise in there for them.

    Edit

Wow....Actually I may visit you guys sometime, I didn't know you were right at the tip of the state. Mapquest says that Henderson is 288 miles from me...but gives it nearly 8 hours trip time. I go to San Diego all the time and it's 400 miles...and that's under 6 hours (just a little bit above the speed limit...CHP is touchy)
