@FromDromundKaasWithLove ...great artwork, some fan artists I've seen are better than the pros. Always hated the art for the comic book adaptation of TLJ; junior graphic novel was miles better.

Humour is fine when it isn’t intentionally justifying the irrational hatred some have shown towards Boyega for using that phrase. He was attacked first.

And you still haven’t logically responded to days of people telling you that your views on the trilogy are sometimes bizarre and not supported by what was shown onscreen.

Rey was better in TFA and TROS Imo, both in characterisation and acting performance. You are skewing things to make them something they clearly aren’t.

You say Rey was perfect - she isn’t.
@alwayslurking asked you what you expected TLJ Rey to do more than she already had for Kylo - no response.
Rey ends up alone - not supported by the movie.

Okay, fine. Do you know why I haven't replied to some of your posts?
Because if I did it would end up degenerating into an argument with both of us getting riled up, and risking being moderated. That's why. It also goes for why I haven't responded to other posters as well. Nothing more sinister than that.
I come here to express my opinion. As does everyone else. I defend a fictional character that I love. So does everyone else.

Arguing is tiresome and pointless when originally the whole point of this forum was to talk about SW.

Anger towards John at the “pipe” joke smacked heavily of the “we must protect the white lady from the lustful black man” BS that fueled malicious rumors that John was harassing Daisy.

Absolutely disgusting.

 

Its not really a good term for anyone to be using. But I didn't think it was a big deal either.

 

I’n sure Daisy was fine with it. She and John are close friends.

 

Context (for those that have not seen the tweet)

I don't even like the joke and I still don't think it deserved nowhere near the backlash it got. As sian also just demonstrated, some of the blacklash is also just hypocritical.

It's bad when John Boyega uses the euphenism to joke about Rey and Finn doing the Jakkuan limbo but not when she does the same, apparently.

When John Boyega jokes about who gets to screw Rey, it's offensive to sian as a woman. When sian jokes about who gets to screw Rey, it's just a sarcasm and her using immature humor.

 

As was covered before many of us that love fictional characters don't actually defend them from the things that they actually do on film. I am never going to say that Vader is not responsible for this actions.....

Even if the character is problematic I will say I like them but hey yeah this guy is a dick and he did terrible things. I don't understand why it's so hard to say Kylo is responsible for the awful things he did to people.

 

I think the question is can JJ do something other than copying honestly I think all of his films literally copy something that was done before with some minor twists to them.

 

Kylo’s original plan having him go opposite to OT Vader is intriguing, getting more imposing as the films progress, it reminds me of reading about the original cut of Anakin’s turn that was way different, yet us never getting to see it play out onscreen. I think both these changes to ep 3 and eps 8/9 made the characters and stories less dark.

 

Except it’ll be droids…
