Well that’s a nice piece of good news for the new year. Something to look forward to while I convalesce.

ongoings can turn into limited series due a bunch of factors, Sales aren't there , A gobal pandemic , Editorial problems , ETC. heres a semi recent Example Scream curse of carnage was a ongoing until covid hit and affected everything and it turned into a limited series by being canceled at 7 issues

Scream wasn't going to last long past that point even without COVID

You're mixing your terms up there DC.

A limited series will from the start be conceived as X issues with plot to match. You can, and should expect, a conclusion to a limited series story.

Ongoings have far greater latitude but, if they get axed and the writer has insufficient notice to wrap it up, then a lacking conclusion can result. But a cancelled ongoing is not a limited series.

Hope that this series will return some disappeared First Order characters like Mitaka and Peavey.

Yeah, Marvel did some real bullcrap there - 4 issues, half the story, follow-up series? Hell, no.

I don’t know who at editorial thought it would be an appropriate thing to actively sell it as an adaptation of a book and then only do half the story, but it was really scummy move.

Even by Marvel's tendencies it is crappy.

At least they didn't release the remainder of the story in the TPB, rubbing it in the faces of those who'd bought the individual issues. That would have been actively malicious, rather than just a questionable editorial decision.

And in fairness, the Thrawn: Alliances adaptation is an anomaly among Marvel's Star Wars output. Love them or hate them, but they have not actively been in the habit of starting limited series and then simply leaving the story unfinished.

I guess the lesson is to be wary if Marvel ever again announces a novel adaptation as a four-issue limited series.

it had potential with what the main venom stuff was setting up. Now scream is a dumb mindless puppet that doesn't even cover her host fully and hasn't gotten closure with andi burning her off and becoming silence but I digress.

and yeah I probably did mix up the terms lol

what happened with alliances was crap too

I see Hanlon's Razor as applying here - "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

That having been said, I do wonder if this was perhaps a botched attempt to establish a new format for adapting novels - two four-issue limited series rather than a single six-issue series, as the original Thrawn novel was. Would fan reaction have been better if the Alliances adaptation had been labeled "Volume 1" from the beginning, with the implicit promise of a "Volume 2" down the road?

Honestly, I'd have a good solid laugh if Marvel announced a Treason adaptation while Alliances remained unfinished.

We get the first issue in two weeks, covers been revealed already and we know some of the things he will be doing
. Visit planets that Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader had importance too, after his failings of dueling Luke, he will search for old jedi order 66 survivors and more.

So, it seems I was right about Vaneé. He is going to be Kylo's companion, that is quite heartwarming.

Great art. And having Vaneé end up a head in a jar attached to a hunchbacked droid body is a pretty natural evolution of the character after the "Vader's Castle" series, honestly.

Wonder if we will end up seeing a larger version of the Mustafar battle in Rise of Skywalker

Funny thing, he is supposed to be Supreme Leader during this time. I can bet his commanders are going to feel frustrated with him taking so much personal time in a war.

    And the lego Halloween movie.

Kriffer just won't die. Truly an heir to the legacy of Simus.

My guess is that Hux is going to become rather more competent in this series to manage the FO's administrative policies, while Kylo having his adventures, similar to the GI organizing the Inquisitorius without Vader initially knowing about it.
