Kylo Ren keeps Snoke around to use him as a distraction like pocket sand.

I much prefer to make awesome fan made timelines such as the L-Canon project instead of just complaining.

I'm loving the cover of #2!

The idea of the comic begs for a OneCanon companion "Legacy of Caedus", @Sinrebirth Same premise, but Kylo Ren learning from Darth Caedus' mistakes and successes.

Wonder if in this series Kylo will find himself an analogue of Jori Lekauf. That can potentially be a descendant of Inspector Thanoth.

I wonder if any of the Batuu/Galaxy's Edge storyline will be involved in this series.

that’s a little convoluted. I didn’t know there was that much in there. Lots of sparks and rises.

Hmm, do you have some specific quotes? That could be helpful.

And yes, it makes sense, if the sabre was still out of commission.

That said, Rise of Resistance and other content featuring Kylo at that time has some continuity issues anyway (especially regarding his mask, and it's status)

Sure. There's an indirect reference in Spark to the events of Allegiance in Chapter 12, and a much more direct reference in Chapter 18, so Spark definitely fits into the timeline after that:

“No, I was here to help the Zixon. If we can retrieve the Echo Horn and destroy the Ladara Vex, we can hopefully get a few of those delightful ships we got from Aftab Ackbar on Mon Cala in place for an ambush.”

Regarding the Skywalker lightsaber, it goes completely unmentioned in the book. Literally - the word "lightsaber" doesn't even show up in a word search of the e-book version. Rey uses her staff whenever the need for action arises.

Kylo Ren does not appear, so no info on him or his mask. He is only mentioned a handful of times, with no references to Rey having had an encounter with him since TLJ (the writing does imply the events of TLJ are still very recent, for what it's worth).

In my brief revisit of Spark, something I didn't realize is it contains an early High Republic reference, in the form of character Glenna Kip (who reappears in some of Justina Ireland's HR stuff). Not as early as Dooku: Jedi Lost, but definitely well before the original announcement.

TROS making a point of showing him rebuilding his mask does cause a bit of an issue, although we can always just assume Kylo was wearing a spare mask during the Rise of the Resistance timeframe (another way in which he carries on the legacy of Vader, who had at least one spare helmet kicking around that I can remember). Maybe Legacy of Vader will patch this continuity oddity up in some fashion.

I would be amazed and pleasantly surprised if the mask issue is touched in the comics, because in universe its not an issue. The only reason Kylo has a mask at Galaxy's Edge is to ensure that anyone can be him in costume. It's a real world problem as opposed to the star wars galaxy so easily handwaved away for disney parks convenience.

That being said, if they address and his rebuilt one was easily smashed in the comic line, so he seeks out a more competent blacksmith familiar with the dark arts, that would work and certainly wouldn't feel as contrived as the current Ahsoka issues with the 6th and 11th Brother! (lands on a farming planet, discovered by the Inquisitor, Ahsoka takes him out. goes to another farming planet does the same, bleeds the crystal etc)

Seems rather likely that Kylo's main opponent in this series will be a character with noble-sounding goals and very questionable methods, like in other Soule's works. Hope that in this case that character will at least try to team-up with Rey.

I certainly felt Spark of Resistance was post Allegiance, due to the mention of Aftab that I skimmed...

It being PRE Rise of Resistance and Galaxy's Edge in general... is the more ambiguous thing, though.

It took one logical argument from Vaneé to make Kylo reconsider his childish "let the past die" ideology and get ready to learn. This man became a head in a jar, yet he is still the GOAT.

Although Ren was already rather calm in his conversation with Hux. So far nothing significant in terms of worldbuilding, don't remember was it stated before that Starkiller was also a major FO shipyard.

Nope, it wasn't. Perhaps they meant Supremacy, as that definitely was, but if Starkiller and Supremacy were, then double the ouch for the war. Explains why they snatched up Fondor and Mon Calamari.

    Interesting first issue! In particular:

    - The conversation of Ren with Hux. I've always felt that C. Soule has a great understanding of the logic in evil doers reasonings. Ren goes from being almost welcoming to Hux to belittling him to threaten his life in a single, short conversation, and it sounds logical. With all of his flaws, we can even empathize with Hux for having to deal with such a man;
    - Always great to have more Vanée, and this appearance reminded me of Blackhole´s last iteration as Perek. I don´t suppose we'll get to see why he has endured this way, but he'll surely make a good counterpart for Ren in the story.

I really love the idea of this series being Kylo Ren taking office and issuing an increasingly bizarre series of executive orders to Hux

Well great art as to be expected from Ross. Looks like the cover for issue 2 hearkens back to that Anakin/Vader cover from Pak's Vader run.
