8. I think the insects are scary because of their look. They are ugly not ugly like some aliens of star wars but ugly at a higher level that makes them disgusting. Why that phobia ? Well, I don't really know, it is just the way it. I don't think that phobia really reveals something about me as an individual, it does not reflect who I am.

Good thing I didn't get the phobia question. I haven't looked up the word for it, but I really have a terrible phobia of ... whales. Seeing even a depiction of one gives me the shivers, and an actual photograph freaks me out. Especially those photos of a person swimming right next to the whale, because the thing that freaks me out about them is their sheer size. I can't talk about it anymore because just thinking about it freaks me out. I mean, we could get lost their freaking eyeball! We're not even a freaking testicle hair to them.

 

Actually...

I disturbed a nest of wasps when I was younger, I've been terrified of them ever since. I don't like spiders, but we've learned to live with them since they are everywhere in Charleston.

9. Ani501st: Fair enough. What do you personally expect from Episode VII (what you would like to see, who should be cast, etc...)?

9. I did not really want Episode VII. However since J.J. Abrams is directing it, that interests me. I would really want Tom Cruise to be a part of it, an amazing actor and his science fiction movies are amazing so Tom Cruise in Star Wars would rock. Cate Blanchett would be awesome in star wars movie too.
My perfect cast for Episode VII would be :
Tom Cruise as the main male character.
Cate Blanchett as the main female character.
Elizabeth Mitchell
Colin Ford
Connor Jessup
Jessy Schram
Evangeline Lilly
Britt Robertson
Josh Holloway
Colin O'Donoghue as a smuggler/ bounty hunter
Kevin Spacey as the main vilain.
I clearly know that all these actors won't be in this movie but if at least two or three of them were in it, it would be great.
That would also be interesting to see Han, Luke Leia, Chewie, Lando but not as main characters. It would make a link between the new movies and the Lucas movies. However the best in my opinion would be to not have them and to have a story taking place long after their death.
I expect an original story. For exemple, the Republic facing a new threat, I don't know maybe a rising power like the Hutt Cartel but not a reborn of the Empire. I think having a Sith in Episode VII would be strange as the last two siths died in ROTJ so how can a sith could be in Episode VII. Like I said I expect an original story, I expect that this story does not have any link with the EU material post-ROTJ - I want a new story.

10. Ani501st: Describe your perfect day in the Star Wars saga.

 

What a surprise.

(Actually as much as I hate to admit it, Tom Cruise's sci-fi films usually turn out pretty good. Like, I know he's a nutty weirdo in real life, but if he's in a film it's usually a sign the film in question isn't too bad)

 

I am not sure exactly about what you ask here with " perfect day in the star wars saga." What do you mean by that ?

 

I mean, if you had one day to spend in the Star Wars universe, how would you spend it? Where, as who, what ship, etc...

 

Oh, alright so here's my answer :
10. It would be during the clone wars and it would be as myself. I would first start my day on Coruscant on a balcony of one of the tower of the Jedi Temple to see the sunrise lighting the planet. Then, I would visit the Jedi Temple and see some of the famous jedi. I would leave the Jedi Temple and find the Millenium Falcon in an hangar on Coruscant. I would go to Kashyyyk aboard the Millenium Falcon. I would spend a long part of the day hanging out on Kashyyyk, in the tree houses outside … I finally would go on Christophsis to see the crystalline world. I would visit Crystal city. I would spend less than a hour in a cantina of Christophsis. Then, I would return on the Millenium Falcon and leave Christophsis. I would reach a Republic Venator Cruiser and end my day by assisting the clone army on a mission on Alderaan.

 

11. Ani501st: Which character in Star Wars do you feel got the worst ending? The best?

 

11. In my opinion Anakin Skywalker got the best ending - redemption then dies. That's a perfect end for a hero. Then, the worst ending, I would say Boba Fett eaten by the Sarlacc, such an iconic character like Boba would have deserved a fight against Han Solo before dying.

 

I know you said "yourself", but I imagined that as Tom Cruise.

 

As far as phobias go, I think things like fear of snakes, insects, and the dark are normal and hardwired into us. I remember someone (one of my professors in college I think) making the argument that most of these are instinctive fears that our ancestors would have had to help keep them alive.

E.G. are non-human ancestors might have had to deal with spiders and snakes that were potentially deadly, so much so that we became hardwired to fear animals that come in these shapes. So maybe our ancestors evolved to be instinctively afraid of cobras, but the sight of a harmless garter snake might still trigger that instinctual fear in some.

Same idea with why many kids are afraid of the dark and why even as adults many people probably feel more uncomfortable walking down an alley at night, than that same alley during the day. Because we are historically and prehistorically diurnal animals and probably have an instinctual fear/discomfort because predators like lions and wolves tend to be more active at night,.

Fear of whales I can't wrap my head around, at least not as a gut reaction. But if someone were to bribe me to jump into open water with a Great White or with a Killer Whale (assuming I could climb right back out of the water), I would probably be sooner to take the Great White.

And yes daddy long legs have both eyes and mouths. I think they even dispelled the myth that they couldn't bite people on mythbusters. But it would be extremely hard for any spider to bite a person unless it's on them, since their fangs are on the underside of their heads.

 

Yeah, I don't mind spiders in general, but that close-up of a daddy long legs is just freaky. On the topic of spiders, this evening I showed my son photos of black widows and brown recluses just so he knows what they look like, since those are the two venomous-to-humans species that live in this general area.

 

12. Ani501st: How would you have dealt with Boba's death?

 

12. I would have prefered that Han Solo and Boba Fett fights and Solo ends up shooting Fett. Then Fett would have fallen into the Sarlacc.

 

13. Ani501st: If you could have ruled over 3 planets in the Star Wars galaxy, which would they be and why?

 

^Good question! Reminds me of choosing countries in Risk.
