There’s now like a half dozen Star Wars movies in development, it’s like we’re back in 2016 again

 

A feature film can be financially successfull as both having a theatrical release and then as new content for Disney + subscribers of course, so this makes sense. Hope they go big. Obi Wan Kenobi, now i really felt they should have made that into a movie as well. Really enjoyed the series, but there was a lot of filler stuff where they stretched the story + some typical tv budget action. Could have been a great movie instead. These are corporate decisions though, and at the time we had Covid to cope with.

Maybe the Ahsoka cinema promo thing was them testing out certain things as well.

 

If so, then God help us all.

 

Yay Lando yay for box-office "flop" Solo got a sequel!

 

This was the most round about way to give solo a sequel I have ever seen.

Can't wait to see a de-aged Harrison Ford as Han in this movie! You know that won't be able to resist doing it baby!!!

 

Flashforward to Sept. 2033:
Glover: "We're working on it. We just need to get a script together. I think they want to get Rian's trilogy out first, and then the Taika movie. After that, it's either gonna be Lando or the Shawn Levy movie. But, yeah, we're very excited it."

 

Well, it will be interesting seeing all those who wants to deepfake SW legacy characters now just flat out accept that Donald Glover is the same age as Billy Dee was in 1980. Recast is the way to go it seems.

It’s super edgy these days to predict every film will be cancelled. Didn’t you know that?

 

Given how much turnover there's been at Lucasfilm over the past decade, I'll wait until this actually starts filming.

 

To welcome the Brothers Glover into the New Films page (the most prestigious page on this prestigious forum) I will incorporate them into my rankings of "likelihood to be released in theaters *without* a director change", with 1 being most likely. (#'s 3 and 4 are extremely close):

1. Filoni movie
2. Glover Brothers movie
3. Sharmeen movie
4. Taika movie
5. Mangold movie
6. Rian movie

 

Wait until they release a statement saying that it's a movie that will be released on Disney+

Now wait a minute.... they don't have a Walgreens or a CVS near you?

 

If Solo was better and Alden Ehrenreich was as good as Glover was in Solo I'm assuming more people would be in favor of recasting Han. Ehrenreich is a good actor but I don't think he was given a lot to work with and Glover got the better lines and his character was written better.

I kinda have mixed feelings about the deepfake stuff. Usually I don't think it looks as bad as a lot of people think it is, (though Anakin looked rough at the end of Ahsoka episode 4), but I'm starting feel like they shouldn't do it at all unless they can make it look and sound exactly like the original actor and at this point they can't.

I don't see any reason to think this would only be for Disney+

 

Right, and especially not now. The trend for LFL and Disney seems to be pointed away from Disney+ in general, which means towards theaters again for something like this. Besides, even when theaters were closed and everything new was being made for D+, they still didn't make any SW movies for D+... it was all series.

 

I actually think Solo should have been a TV show, but I am happy this is moving forward in some form because I would like to see where the open threads of Solo were leading. I don't love recasting major characters, but I liked Donald Glover's performance as Lando, so a movie with him as the lead could be fun.

 

I actually think this could've been a good TV series, where each episode is just a different Calrissian Chronicles

but pretty curious about what they do for a film
