Yes, that would be entirely too weird.

We're any other Mad Seaon/AIC/PJ fans a little ticked when you heard that Matchbox Tewenty's new record was called "Mad Season by Matchbox Twenty"? I know I sure was, it should have been some kind of copywrite infringement. It's almost like naming an album "Soundgarden by Creed" or something along those lines.

Yeah, I thought that was a little weird about Matchbox 20's album. Or the band Godsmack and the AIC song "Godsmack". they claim it wasn't taken from the AIC song... but I don't believe that.

I liked his music, but I have no sympathy for him as a drug user. Maybe his family if he has one deserves sympathy, but he sure as hell doesn't. not any more.

I never understood why those people in Godsmack weren't sued by AIC. That's even more of a copywrite infringement.

BTW: I was glad Maryland won. Maybe in a couple years my beloved Tarheels can get back to the Final Four and bring home another title for the ACC.

What bothers me about Godsmack is their sun logo. That exact logo is on the inside of Alice in Chain's Dirt booklet.

Thats a shame. I used to be a big AIC fan's back in my high school days. Not really surprised, but disappointed...

I went and saw Jerry Cantrell tonight. He was awesome. But torn up. You could see pain in his eyes whenever he played an Alice in Chains song.. let alone talked about Layne. I felt so bad for him. He performed outstanding. And I loved the concert. I just looked at this thread and the pic of Layne I posted... and I was listening to Down in a Hole, too... now I feel the urge to post this...

Jerry Cantrell played the following songs (I missed the first one, D***eye, which is from Boggy Depot).

~ My Song (off of Boggy Depot, Jerry's first solo cd, second single from that CD)
Then Jerry went talking about Layne and his recent death.. and started a Tribute for him..
~ Angry Chair (off of Dirt, from Alice in Chains)
~ Man in the Box (off of Facelift, from Alice in Chains)
Jerry was torn apart and only said "Layne would have loved that.."
~ Solitude (off of Degredation Trip, Jerry's soon to be released cd)
~ New song.. now clue what it was.
~ Cut You In (off of Boggy Depot, first single from that CD)
~ Them Bones (off of Dirt)
~ Anger Rising (off of Degredation Trip... soon to be single! Look for it!)
Jerry and the gang went off stage.. then came back out for an encore. They said they'd only
~ Down in a Hole (favorite AIC song! I was soo soo happy when I heard the opening A Minor chord arpeggio!) (off of Dirt)
~ No Excuses (off of Jar of Flies, from Alice in Chains)

After that, Jerry and the gang had run over their hour time limit by 30 minutes.. so they were rushed offstage so the Stone Temple Pilots could play... Screw that, tho. I wanted to see more Jerry!

That was the best concert I have ever seen in my life. Jerry Cantrell is such a great songwriter and deserves so much more credit than he gets (as does Layne). They sounded just like Alice in Chains, save the second singer didn't have Layne's style 100% down.. only 80% but it was still so good.. that is the closest that I'll ever get to seeing Alice in Chains. Rest in Peace, Layne...
