    Was surfing Wookieepedia and found this concept art of Darth Nihilus:

    [image=http://starwars.wikia.com/images/3/3e/Darthnihilus.jpg][image=http://starwars.wikia.com/images/3/3c/DNs.jpg]

    Also, Obi-Wan Kenobi, despite mostly holding his saber in the right hand, is seen doing quite the opposite in Star Wars Republic #55:

    So it made me wonder: what other examples of left-handedness are known in Star Wars?

    Which hand did Nihilus hold his saber in in the game?

    The right hand. (Although it can be an engine limitation.)

    I swear I remember a thread like this a while ago. It might have been in the clone trooper thread. I think a fair few Jedi are probably good with both hands, most regular troops are like us and have a dominant hand, and clones probably have a dominant but are trained to still be effective with the other.

    The Sith, as a species, are predominantly left-handed.

    A subtle reference to the outdated idea that left-handedness was a sign of afliction from the devil mayhaps.

    Actually, the Original version of this picture is flipped horizontally, aka, his right hand is his left and vice versa:

    [image=http://starwars.wikia.com/images/3/3e/Darthnihilus.jpg]

    So I guess that makes Nihilus ambidextrous....

    Is he wielding a scythe in his other hand there? Very Grim Reaperish. Which fits well with his character, I suppose.

    I think it's just the design of the wall. It would be awesome if he really was carrying one, though.

    Darth Nihilus, Reaper of Worlds. :cool:

    Just because you see someone with a saber in their left hand does not mean they are left handed. Some moves require the saber be held with one hand or the other to getcha where you're going. Seems to me Jedi and Sith should be equally skilled in saber use with both hands considering how many times they lose the right hand in battle...[face_devil]

    That's true, you hold writing/drawing utensils with both hand, even if you only write with one.

    Nonetheless, I wonder if they could've made some sort of drug or such thing in the GFFA that made everyone ambidextrous....

    [face_talk_hand] Now you mention it, even in the films there's quite a lot of hand-switching going on, no matter which hand they begin with...

    Mara uses left a lot, I noticed. As does Flander, but what does that have to do with anything?

    Sorry, got to give my two cents as an ambidextious person who leans left.

    It might be dangerous to let a young learner use the lightsaber with the left hand. I think they would get trained right and as they grew experienced go ambi... In the long run it would be an advantage. (catch the enemy off guard..)

    As for the pictures of the other users, likely just flipped over which will switch the hand.

    I'm a left-handed fencer(or at least prefer to fight with the left over the right), and from what i've been told and experienced, left-handers are tougher to fight than right-handers.
    When I was into kendo, we were taught to fight right handed. I practiced kendo left-handed until it felt natural.

    I tend to think that most sword arts taught with right hand being the default hand. I would assume that it is the same in the gffa.

    Depends on the brain structure. If it's got a humanesque hemisphered brain, it'd probably be side-based (Left-side dominant). If it's got two brains like a Quermian, they might be top/bottom dominant, or, if they have two, hemisphered brains, they may be quadrant-based (upper-left-handed)

    I write with my right hand but every other quirk related to dominant hand is like that of a left handed person. Which is...odd.

    Anyways, I'm sure they could have something to make people ambidextrous, or some sort of training. I know someone who is ambidextrous (and can also mirror write) and trust me, that's one hell of a skill.[face_mischief]

    Among Force-users at least, I'm sure that when switching to the unfamiliar hand, they could rely on
