I'm very tempted by it but I doubt the missus will let me get it till I've finished building the falcon and then finished decorating the house
Hmmm, will bear that in mind once I finish my bust series. This earlier one of mine comes close, but misses a few of the Brickeadz' defining features (mouth, nose, arms) LEGO MOC - Beaker Muppet (early work in progress)
It really makes me happy to introduce to you... the latest in my LEGO Muppet Bust designs - Gonzo the Great!
Built for a 'Star Wars Concept Art' contest on Eurobricks.com Based on the iconic Docking Bay 94 concept art with McQuarrie's revised Pirate Ship design replacing Colin Cantwell's version (Cantwell's later became the Blockade Runner), and our heroes meeting up with the captain of the ship. Just recently built the NASA Saturn V, which is now displayed next to the Apollo 11 Moon Lander set that I already had. The ISS is also shipping and should hopefully be here any day. Gonna have to order the Discovery/Hubble set at some point, too.
I bought the Harry & Hermione maxifig set (76393), made these two instead. Vader also uses the original convention / Target exclusive Darth Vader Bust (75227). Mashed them together, made a brick built belt, chest control box and lightsaber. Leia was a colour swap, with new belt and hair. Banana for scale.
Gotta say, these sets are very impressive looking. Getting me pretty hyped for when I do get my hands on the Discovery set.
I just built the TIE Fighter pilot bust and Imperial Probe droid last weekend, both enjoyable to do. I also have the Coliseum, but no where to put it, so I don't know when I'll even open it. And I have the Infinity Gauntlet ordered. Great work, @jp-30 I wish I had your creativity!
I bought the Monkie Kid King Warrior Mech 80012 along with the Star Wars Imperial Probe Droid 75306 the other day. Need to find time to build a few other sets I've bought along with these. Both sets I basically bought for free since they were both paid for by collecting cans/bottles in my local area and recycling them!
The pictures make Discovery look like a slightly smaller build that she is in real life. The Space Shuttle is very, very impressive, but she also very big bird.
That doesn't shock me, given the price tag - the Saturn V was $80 less than the Discovery, and the Saturn V is massive. Thank God for the stands to display it sideways.
I kept 2 of the Speed Champions Porsche 918 hypercar in the box. Sold one 4 years on with 10x return on what I paid for it. Lego speculation is very real.
Yeah so weirdly that set's not up much. And my other unboxed Speed Champions sets - 458 Italia Ferrari and Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team - haven't really appreciated much at all. Speed Champions has some benefits because of brand loyalty to cars, which is why holding Porsche IMO is a good idea
Saw Walmart put up their sale to compete with Prime day- $800 millennium falcon was 609- instantly sold out. Now i might have to stay up until 12:00am to see if amazon does the same. They currently have some for over $1k but its associated sellers.
I have just completed the BIG millennium falcon Just need to pop it on the stand. Magnificent model and really enjoyable build. I stretched it out over 5 weeks to complete, slowly but surely and even now, looking at the spare parts I know I've messed something up. Brilliant model and us the cornerstone my dining room and will move to the office when we.move later this year. Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
