    Title: Leia Skywalker
Characters: Leia, Luke, Han, Anakin, Padme, and OC's
    Time Frame: ROTJ & ROTS
Summary: Desperate to find out information on her mother, the Force grants Leia's wish to have a mother-daughter talk.

    Author's note:
This will start out a few months after ROTJ, but in only three chapters will come back to the middle of ROTS.
For copywrite purposes, I don't own any Star Wars related items, they belong to George Lucas.

P.S. This is an AU so don't be too harsh on years, they are just for reference. :)

    LEIA SKYWALKER

    Chapter One:
    Inquiry into the Past

"Leia, do you remember your mother, your real mother?"
"He's my father." "I know there is still good in him."
"Yes. It's you Leia: you are my sister."

These quotes started to plague the mind of Leia Organa. Hours before the climatic battle of Endor which resulted in the deaths of two of the most hated figures in history, Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker had given her a chilling revelation: he was the son of Vader and that he was her twin brother. At the time, she couldn't digest it because Han Solo had emerged out of the Ewok hut to comfort her in time of need. During the battle, she was too busy to mull over the details of her conversation with Luke and the quotes mentioned, but now, with the celebrations over and the rebuilding of the Republic starting, these quotes started to pop back into her subconscious.

Her answer to the question of her real mother bothered her most of all; she could only remember faint images of a sad, beautiful face and sounds of a foreign language dimly singing to her as a baby. She concentrated hard on the image in her mind to find any semblance to a name she might have heard but nothing came. It was starting to disturb her to the point that she could no longer stand it; she needed to find out who her mother was and she needed to find out who she was soon.

Excusing herself to go down to the Senatorial Archives, she had only one lead to go on: Anakin Skywalker. As a girl, she learned about the Jedi Knight known as the 'Hero with no Fear.' Warfare never interested her to seek out more information on the matter so she never really knew who he was. That was going to change because she was his daughter.

Luke's revelation that Darth Vader once was the Knight Anakin Skywalker, and that he fathered not only Luke but her was very hard to swallow. She initially denied the claim as such that she could never be related to anything so evil, but the hours seeking answers to her mother, the Force seemed to confirm the claim. She only accepted it on the grounds that Bail Organa, her adopted father, and his wife informed her that she was not biologically connected to them, but that they loved her all the same. 'Anakin may have been my biological father, but Bail was my real daddy,' she thought looking through files of the Jedi Knights during the Clone Wars. Having been deemed enemies of the State, it was surprising that so much information was saved about them.

She found the nearest computer and entered the search for Anakin Skywalker. More than 10000 entries appeared; she chose the one that mentioned family. 'This could tell me who mother was,' she thought happily. After she clicked on the link, it showed a small boy with blond hair and a middle-aged woman with tanned skin and black hair. Leia read the caption under the photo: Anakin Skywalker, age 9, shown here with his mother Shmi Skywalker after winning the Boonta Eve Classic on Tatooine in 5746. Skywalker, at the time, a slave to the Toydarian Watto, became the first ever human to win the classic pod-race, essentially winning his freedom.

Leia reread the caption under the picture again and again. Her father was once a slave? That didn't make any sense. Luke never mentioned anything about his father being a slave. 'You never really asked him much about his father did you?' a voice in the back of her head asked her. 'No, but still-' Leia looked at the woman who was Anakin's mother.

I like this. Well, Luke and Leia were lied to their entire lives. There is never a good reason for lying. Now they are both in pain.

Wow, five readers. That is like five more than I expected. Thank you very much that none of you said it sucked. [:D]

You will see this story wrap itslef up, but this is just a continuation of the earlier. Both Luke and Leia will have revelations that they aren't ready for nor expect. See how they handle it.

    Chapter Two:
    An invitation from Beyond

Padme Amidala was a very renowned figure in the last days of the Old Republic. Her statue was such that even Senators who opposed her on political issues still hailed her responses with open ears and actually listened; that was until she was considered a traitor to the Republic by aligning herself with the Jedi Order.

When Palpatine declared himself Emperor, anyone who had a public association with the Jedi Order was guilty of betrayal by association, this included the young Senator from Naboo. While from Naboo himself, the new Emperor felt himself above such modest origins and considered himself a citizen of the Galaxy as a whole. Yet, Palpatine knew that he should not exactly ban any kind of information about her; she did assist in his ascension to the throw. He knew that to keep some loyalists to him he needed to keep her alive, even if she were dead. That is where the Senatorial Archives came into play.

It was put by State Decree Number Three that the Senatorial Archives shall contain all information precluding the Empire, but will not be added or subtracted. All information shall be stored in a vault accessible only by the Chancellor or the Archival historian. If one should desire to do research on the Old Republic, then they shall be granted an admission by the Emperor or his direct representative. A new archive dedicated to the reign of Palpatine was to be constructed and viewable for public usage. Since the war ended, the Archives have been available for public view, only not very many people had been desiring to do research.

Two of the few who took the liberty to do research were the Skywalker twins: Luke and Leia. Their encounter with the mysterious Artemas Dodsen was still in their heads. He knew they were siblings and that they were looking for their mother, yet he seemed upset that Leia?s adopted father, Bail Organa, never told her about a Senator named Padme Amidala. It was also the suggestion that he had given them so they decided it would be useful if they took it. Just like the original search for Anakin Skywalker yielded thousands of results, so did the search for Padme Amidala, only more than 25000. ?This is going to take forever,? wined Luke as he looked on the computer screen seeing the many links for Senator Amidala. ?How are we to know which one to look under?? he asked his sister.

Clicking on the first link that was available, Leia replied, ?We will just have to do some research Luke. I know that is a hard concept for you flyboys to understand, but patience will eventually get you to where you need to be. Here we go!? she exclaimed as a picture popped up. The caption under it read: Queen Amidala at the tender age of 14 assumes the thrown of Naboo in year 5746, replacing King Veruna. ?Well that didn?t help at all,? replied Leia closing the link and going back to the results sub-page.
?Didn?t help, that gave us all kinds of information,? Luke said.

?Okay smart guy, how does the knowledge that this Padme Amidala being a queen help us in our search of our mother?? Leia asked while crossing her arms across her chest. Luke not letting this chance slip from his fingers pushed his sister out of the way and started typing madly on the keypad. Leia got up and walked to the ?fresher. On her way there she ran into two men who were older than her but younger than Artemas Dodsen could have been. She was about to ask them to get out of her way when one of them put his finger on his lips shushing her. He then pointed towards Luke and nodded.

Confused, Leia looked back at her brother, who had a huge smile on his face and his arms were held high in triumph. ?I knew it!? he yelled coming up to

This is a really interesting story. I like the archivist and his kids- quirky to say the least.

I'm really interested to see what Padme left them. I do like that Leia is being much more understanding of Anakin than usual.

    Keep this going, good start.

    Chapter Three:
    Flight of the Falcon

Leia Organa slept soundlessly during the night. The last image she had before her subconscious over took her was that of the young Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala playing with a little boy and girl in a grass field in a nameless place. The dream was so peaceful that waking up from it should be considered a crime.

Luke Skywalker was talking to Han Solo in the sitting room of their little apartment that Wes Jacen had acquired for them during their stay. He was telling Han about what he and Leia needed to do. He understood that he wasn?t allowed to accompany them; he needed to be with the Falcon. Just being away from it for more than a day was giving him the shakes. He headed off towards the warehouse right at dawn in a rented speeder leaving the Skywalker twins to their lent speeder.

As Luke at his breakfast in silence, he was rereading his mother?s final letter to them. One thing stuck out very brightly; she was there to give him up to Owen and Beru. He had known her, only he was just a couple-day-old infant. That little revelation brought a smile to his face. Leia finally stirred and walked into the kitchen, Luke offered some of his breakfast but she refused it. "I am too excited to eat, are you ready to go?"

"Are you?" asked Luke, making sure that Leia was ready. She nodded and left for the speeder. She jumped in the driver seat because she knew where 500 Republica was since she used to visit there often during her short time as Alderaan's Senator. The building looked a bit torn-down but there were still some occupants in the lower floors; no one lived above the 50th floor. As the elevator stopped at the 85th floor, they found themselves at the entrance way to a grand apartment. Both twins had looks of surprise that their mother would send them there. Leia immediately went to the holovid player and punched the code 05251977 into the pad. An image of Padme appeared, it spoke:

"My children, I am your mother, Padme Naberrie Skywalker, Amidala of the Naboo. I wish that I could see you, but most likely I am dead. If you are playing this message, it means that you two have found each other. Under what crucial circumstances it was I am truly sorry for that. I have inputted a collection of recordings of your father. Obi-wan thinks that he is lost to the Dark Side, I still feel that there is good in him, here he is, your father, Anakin Skywalker."

The twins watched as image after image the man once known as 'The Hero with no Fear' flashed before their eyes. Some were just of him, others were with both him and Padme; one was of him and a red-haired man in his mid to late 30's. "I know that man," said Luke. "He's Obi-wan, only a little younger." The images continued to come with news clips of his exploits during the Clone Wars.

After what seemed like an eternity of seeing images of their father, the recording changed to a video. Padme's voice was playing over the seen: two young people standing hand-in-hand in front of an elder man reading from a book. "This is when we wed. It was a bittersweet day because we couldn't tell anyone. It was forbidden by the Jedi to have attachments and my duties as a Senator would prevent me from having a relationship, but we just couldn't control our emotions. This was one of my happiest days."

The video ended and another collage of images appeared, this time it was mostly of Padme and fellow Senators Bail Organa and Mon-Mothma. "During your fathers frequent absences because of the war, these two and many others were loyal to the ideals of the Republic; also they helped me get through the tough times. But then, one day when your father was on leave, an amazing thing happened: I got pregnant. I didn't find out until much later, by then your father was gone again.

"I was alone for almost five months having to deal with my situation. It still was too risky to reveal any information, even to my family; oh how I wanted to let them in the joy of my impending motherhood. I sou
