    Well yes, but officially...the books can be overwritten. And nobody argues that green sabers aren't canon because they don't appear in the first two movies. So movie canon is official, book canon (much as I like it) is less permanent. ;)

    Even movie canon is overwritten when Lucas feels like removing eyebrows or adding the word "no."
