Great pics Blue Lekku! wow--yes, Qui Xux was not pictured much and when I read the JA years ago, I too really liked her character! nice that someone is putting her character into visual form.

Great idea I read in this thread---create self-portraits of us as Star Wars characters! Hmmm...getting myself into Mando armor would be REALLY cool!

 

She looks so innocent that add to the greatness of this pic.
If I could rate this from 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, I would vote**drum roll** 9.5/10!!!

oh i LOVE your Tavira!!! That is seriously exactly what she's supposed to look like.

seriously.. wow. she's such a great character. I have never seen anyone do any art of her. It's rather refreshing

Darth Omnis, have you never read Michael A. Stackpole's "I, Jedi"? It was hard for me to get into the book at first, but once it got going it was fabulous -- one of my favorite Star Wars novels ever (so far)! If you've read the Jedi Academy series it's really interesting, because it covers some of the same events that occur at Luke's fledgling Jedi training center on Yavin 4 -- the whole thing with Gantoris, Kyp, and Exar Kun -- from the point of view of one of the other Jedi students, Corran Horn. Anyway, I totally recommend the book. Admiral Tavira is described as beautiful, petite and almost childlike with jet black hair and violet eyes. She wears a black uniform with a cape and carries a quirt.

 

Hey Blue_Lekku, glad to see you back! Very nice manip for Adm. Tavira--I guess for me, though, an Imperial officer, particularly an Admiral, would look older than this--the face here looks very young, perhaps in her teens... And a harder expression on the face would work to the advantage of the character, as well--neutral works, but brows pulled in and down a bit more would lend to that "harder" look--and would certainly add to that whip she's holding! A touch more light-and-dark contrast on her uniform/cloak/robes would help define her posture a bit more--it's tough at first to tell that her shoulders are angled to the "camera" here, making them appear too narrow. Just a bit of highlighting on the nearer arm and shoulder would eliminate this effect. I like it though--and the fact that you're taking the time to "give faces" to some of the lesser-seen characters in the EU!

Well, I wanted her to look very young on purpose, actually. Have you read "I, Jedi"? Stackpole describes Leonia Tavira as petite and easily mistaken for a child if one doesn't look closely. She is young for an Imperial officer, of course, but the subject in the photo manip is actually in her late twenties I believe, but just appears very young. Anyway -- that's one of the reasons I chose her as my model.

The colors on Qwi are brilliant, the brightness of the piece gives her a rather mystical feel, like an apparition; I think it's great. And the self portrait is good as well-I?ve done that a couple times myself, just not with female Twi?lels.
