Leigh Brackett, original writer of the screenplay for TESB, died on this date in 1978.

 

Peter Diamond, stunt performer/coordinator for ANH and TESB, and stunt performer/arranger for ROTJ, died on this date in 2004.

 

Just wanted to add, even though I made a thread about it, Richard Bonehill sadly died on 4th of February this year. Such a sad and preventable loss.



A character with a small role but massive impact, recently made playable in Battlefront Star Wars and appears in TFA. A tremendous acting job, we won't forget.

John Barry, Production Designer for ANH and 2nd Unit Director for TESB, died on June 1st, 1979, while working on the latter.

 

Though it's part of the PT, I thought it would be significant to mention and pay respect to the passing of Alethea McGrath. I only found out about her passing today, tragic loss of a talented actress. RIP.

A bright light in the world of Star Wars has diminished today with the passing of the legend that is, Kenny Baker. He is the droid we was looking for.

unfortunately the list is going to get bigger and bigger, faster and faster.

 

Actor Brock Peters, who played Darth Vader in the NPR adaptation of the OT, died on this date in 2005.



And ANH Cinematographer Gilbert Taylor, seen here with George Lucas, died on this date in 2013.

 

A small role but a memorable legacy, Michael Leader (ANH Stormtrooper that bashed his head) has sadly died today. We will always remember this scene. RIP Michael Leader.

 

Sad news. It makes me feel old when I read about actors who were in a film I loved as a kid start passing of old age.

Re: the Stormtrooper who his head in ANH, I only remember consciously noticing this after reading about it online in the early days of the Internet; in any case, very iconic blooper that was later paid homage to by the Jango Fett scene in AOTC....

 

I understand it may make you feel old, but this is far from the case. It should be accepted as a natural part of life, and I guarantee these actors are much older than you are . I feel sad when they pass away but I would do anything to be a kid when you was and see Star Wars in cinema and enjoy the good 80s music too .

So don't despair, and enjoy Star Wars.

Actor Keene Curtis, who played Grand Moff Tarkin in the ANH radio adaptation, died on this date in 2002.

 

Actor John Hollis, who played Lobot in TESB died on October 18th, 2005.
