Just tell me when it will be on Max, or any other streaming channel that I currently subscribe to. I wonder if Michael Crichton, had he lived through all of this, would've been happy and satisfied that his JP and Lost World novels had developed into an action/adventure franchise of movies. Do you think that was his intention all along?
I think he'd be happy that they were still making adaptations of his books- if only because it would fuel sales of his new books. But I think he'd be happy with it- he did direct several films himself- several of which had prominent action components (Westworld, Great Train Robbery, Runaway, etc).
he worked in Hollywood and directed several movies so I reckon he understood how it operated. Plus the books exist in their own way and people would always be interested in the differences.
That's a meh trailer. I'll wait for this on Peacock next fall Why can't this franchise just ****ing die already
From what I remember he barely enjoyed writing the sequel as it was a challenge. I don’t think he was seen involved in the 3rd movie. Nah…he’d probably be very uninterested in the new moves, outside of cashing a loyalties check, and them constantly redoing the same thing over and over.
Doesn't The Lost World novel end with Ian basically saying humans are going to be wiped out, I remember it was a bummer. Also no gymnastic kid
It had to course correct a bit too, or at least remind people. Trying to remember here, but the first book is fairly different from the movie. (Hammond dies by Compy's, and I think we don't know for sure if Ian Malcolm was going to survive.). I always wanted that stegosaurus river boat water fall scene in the movie (which I think was in the SuperNES/Genesis Game) The sequel had some good ideas. But yeah, it was fairly generic. Could have gone way further.
That's what I'm saying. He was unconscious, and we didn't know for sure.. He didn't do the whole "Look sexy on a table and instruct Hammond in the bunker" thing as he does in the movie. But I think they did helicopter him out of there unconscious. God its' been 30 years since I read it. So the second book was like "yes, he survived." Most likely cuz he was the biggest star from the first movie and actually wanted to come back.
I remember 'cos it was funny that the 2 characters who came back for the sequel movie were the ones that died in the first book!
Yeah, Malcolm 100% died in the first book. It even mentions in the epilogue that the Costa Rican authorities won't allow them to ship the bodies of Hammond and Malcolm home to be buried. Then he's just alive again in The Lost World.
Can anyone here, if they plan on seeing it during opening weekend, let me know if Lex or Tim's characters may make an appearance in this film? I've been waiting about 30 years for it. That alone might get me to see it at the cinema.
For me, the Jurassic films have basically been a series of diminishing returns. I would have almost no interest in Rebirth except for the fact that Edwards is directing, David Koepp returned to write, and I really like Mahershala Ali. So the ceiling could certainly be that it'll be the best since the original (although I really like The Lost World). It at least looks like a step up from the Trevorrow trilogy.
This trailer looked considerably better than any of the Chris Pratt Jurassic Movies. Even if the story seems the same old.
Tbh the only thing that I got a kick out of in the JW movies was the initial opening sequence in the first film. It could give you that goosebumps feeling that the original JP gave once upon a time. Spoiler And then the rest of that movie was introducing bigger dinosaurs, and the subsequent movies followed suit. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I never liked the aesthetics of the park in the World sequels. It just screamed Disney World//Land or SeaWorld. Which was the point, I know. But I liked the real jungle safari look of the originals. Made it seem all the more ... real.
